About After Thunder

After Thunder is a Ren'Py visual novel adventure by Wildquill, presented with animated 3DCG art. It casts you as a young warrior in a Far East fantasy setting. Raised in poverty, he trained under a war hero and now lives in Toruram. A mission offers escape from the lower caste into the nobility, but danger tests his strength and place in the realm.

The current build is v0.3, and development is ongoing. It was released June 3, 2026 for Windows, Linux, Mac, and Android, in English, without censorship. The update adds two new chapters, a 338-render set, two animations, and 10,911 words. It also introduces an alternate white-text dialogue box option, though the setting may be finicky. The story covers a captured thief and a frightening return to Toruram.

"After Thunder" is a male protagonist Visual Novel set in a Far East - Fantasy world. In the game you will take on the role of a young warrior. Spoiler Born to a poor family, you hungered for more and managed to acquire training from a Master, a hero from the recent war. For years, you have been tutored in the art of war while living in the city of Toruram. The game starts with a simple mission that promises the ultimate reward, your promotion from the lower caste of society to the elite class. Once there, you will be an outsider no longer, but a member of the nobility sworn to protect the realm from all those who would threaten it. But fate has other plans for you. You must ask yourself one question... Are you strong enough to stand before the darkness that threatens you and the realm?

v0.3 Contents 2 New Chapters You've captured the thief, but if you've learned one thing since your Master died, it's that nothing is ever as simple as you wish it to be. Witness a night full of darkness and terror as you return back to Toruram. New Textbox System - You can now set the dialogue to just be White and it removes the textbox frame behind the text. Many people commented on not liking it, so we're testing this out. Go to Preferences and then click Alt.
