About Alternate Existence

Alternate Existence is a story-driven linear game made by MrKnobb in Ren'Py, with animated 3D CG art. You play a 22-year-old male protagonist who grew up without knowing his parents, moved through foster homes, and left after an incident. A man offers him a way out of a hard life, but the cost of that better future is unclear. Choices mainly affect relationships with female characters. The game includes romance and a harem theme, with skippable adult scenes involving two important female characters.

Development is ongoing, with Season 2 v2.7.0 released on September 16, 2026. The build runs on Windows, Linux, Mac, and Android in English, without censorship. Recent Season 2 updates fixed a bug that prevented players from starting Season 2 without a Season 1 save, and added new dialogue, images, and animations. The current version is the latest listed release.

Developer's description

I am 22 years old. I have no memory of my parents as a child and no idea who or where they might be. I lived with an older woman when I was younger but even that didn’t last. She passed me on to foster care and I bounced from one family to another like a pinball until an incident caused that dismal little game to crash, to an end. The day of the incident I left and never turned back. Then one day a man gave me a way out of my crummy existence to a better life, or not? What is the catch I keep asking myself to this better life? Let's find out... Spoiler: WARNING AE is story driven "Linear" game with choices mainly influencing MC's relationships with female characters. In the current version there are skippable voyeurism sex scenes involving 2 important female characters. 1 involving Male x Female. (a GF/BF having sex) 1 involving Male x Female x Female. (A threesome, though this is only a lesbian scene for the important character.) Both scenes are skippable but not avoidable. They currently just in Episode1 of the game , but going forward, voyeurism will only be a very minor theme in this game and always be skippable." ALSO NOTE: v1.4.0 is a complete code overhaul. If you have save files for v1.3.0 then those will not work. Start a new game for v1.4.0 going forward.
