Beyond Time

This game has two major issues. 1) Although it is a visual novel, the visuals in this case are genuinely weak. I’m not sure whether this is meant to be a deliberate artistic choice, but most of the game looks as if it’s covered in a foggy, blurry haze that is uncomfortable to look at and eventually causes real eye strain. It may simply be due to the author’s inexperience, as he is still learning and may improve over time, but at the moment it is truly on the edge of acceptability. 2) The conversations between characters are, for the most part, completely unnatural. It often feels as if two poorly designed AIs are talking to each other rather than two real people. This game desperately needs someone who knows how to write believable dialogue between people and how to tell a story. Overall conclusion: There is definitely a core story here and it has potential. It is engaging and interesting enough, but the visuals, the storytelling and especially the character dialogues fall short and significantly drag the game down. The LIS are fairly unique, not overused, and some of them are even visually appealing.

PROS + The story/concept is kinda interesting. CONS - MC, and most of the characters don't really have likeable personalities. And they are either too over the top on certain stuff, like being annoying, or kinda robotic with no personality. - Your choices kind of matter, and can block you from content, and we don't have any type of hint or walkthrough existing in-game. It can get quite messy since it becomes a guessing game with trial & error, and that's really annoying. The game needs some pointers, hints, or a walkthrough. - Visually, the game looks bad; it has weird, shiny textures for characters, a sandy look, weird effects on screen all the time, and it looks way too weird. In fact, 99% guaranteed you will hurt your eyes from playing this game for a long time. Rarely, when it doesn't bombard you with weird stuff, you can see the details clearly, and it doesn't look that bad, but excessive use of effects, etc, ruins the visual part of this game. - Animations are not really well-made; they need to be longer, have better facial expressions for characters, longer time, more FPS, and more careful examination. Some of the animations are not even proper loops, and they keep flashing a black screen every time they end, which is 1-2 seconds at best, and that looks awful. VERDICT Latest update seems kind of improved from visual parts, but it's still average at best tbh, generally looking the game is kinda poor, if you really like the concept, give it a try at least, otherwise kinda hard pass.

Beyond time v0.2.1 So far I enjoyed it. I enjoyed the theme and it's nice there are sound effects. Lis are hot. Good writing. I enjoyed the story so far. Hope dev keep it up. He gets a watch which can control others if certain conditions are met. It's nice to see Mcs relation improving with girls without manipulating them. Hope to see good romance path in this game. The story is interesting. It has a few flaws, but they are overlooked. Render quality is okay. There are no problems with eye-sore renders. The animations are good. The girls are interesting and realistic. I'm sure it would be nice if the dialogues were just a bit more developed. A game that should be given a chance. The future is bright.

This one's a mixed bag. It has potential, but the story and character interactions are questionable at best. Might adjust review if this improves. Good stuff 1) Some of the women are visually attractive. 2) Watch storyline and MC upgrading seems interesting so far. Meh stuff 1) Lewds scenes. Average quality and they seem to be following the cliche HJ, BJ, TJ, vag, anal progression. Bad stuff 1) MC. Dudes dumb, looks like a dork and acts unnatural af. Kinda reminds me of the MC in that three letter "basketball" VN. Manipulative douche that goes full preachy white knight simp when interacting with woman. I'll protect you!! Please let me work at your coffee shop for free!! 2) RO interactions. They talk robotic af and most of em involve MC trying to save them or acting like some sort of dollar store therapist. Interactions ain't natural at all and I highly doubt most woman would be attracted to a dude that acts the way MC does. 3) Art. There's some flickering, lighting and color issues.

Review: Promising Start but Needs Visual and Audio Polish (Updated for v. 0.3) So far, the game seems to be good overall, but there are a few areas that really need improvement—especially when it comes to graphics and presentation. 1. Visuals and Lighting The graphics are a bit of a mixed bag. Most of the scenes either look washed out or way too dark , making it hard to appreciate the environments or the characters. The lighting definitely needs some fine-tuning to bring out the atmosphere the developers are clearly aiming for. Update (v. 0.3): There has been a small improvement in lighting, which is nice to see, but it’s still not quite where it should be for a Visual Novel. 2. Character Models Some of the character models look great — the man in the opening scene, the women, and the MC’s father are all well-designed and expressive. Unfortunately, the main character’s model is a weak spot. It looks almost like a wax figure at times, lacking the depth and realism seen in the others. Update (v. 0.3): Sadly, there’s been no improvement here. In fact, in some scenes, the MC looks even worse than before. This inconsistency really pulls you out of the story. 3. Grammar and Writing There are a few minor grammar issues scattered throughout the text, but they’re not distracting enough to ruin the story. The writing itself seems solid and has potential if cleaned up a bit. 4. Music and Sound I appreciate that the game includes music—it helps with immersion—but right now, it doesn’t always fit the tone of the scenes. Sometimes the music feels mismatched with the emotion or tension of what’s happening on screen. Update: As of the latest version, it seems there’s only a single track that loops repeatedly, which becomes repetitive fast. I ended up muting it and playing my own music instead. Overall Thoughts This game has promise, and I genuinely want to see it improve. The story seems interesting enough to keep following, but the visuals and sound design are holding it back. Since this is a Visual Novel, the graphics play a huge part in the experience, so I hope the developers focus on refining that aspect in future updates. I’ll definitely keep an eye on it to see how it evolves over time.

Beyond Time [v0.1] [Mr.Cass] This is a very good game. Not an original plot, but good nonetheless. The story is about time multiplication and possible corruption. The writing is good. Choices matter. There is actually a dad who is alive. But, for how long? The images are good, a bit fuzzy, but that's what the dev is going for. The women are pretty original-looking and hot, also. The animations are very good. A very small number of grammar issues, Plays fine. It's Ren'Py. Save/load works. Music is compatible with the game. There is a decent amount of content for a v0.1 Soapbox: When you go to the GUI, an animation of the game's name pops up at the bottom of the screen. This can be kind of annoying if you use the save/load function a lot. I recommend this game highly. And wish the dev much success.
