About Bitter Gift of Lucy

Bitter Gift of Lucy is a Ren'Py visual novel by SaraGames with 2D CG art. It is set a century after the Third World War, when humanity rebuilt society into a supposedly perfect world free of crime, suffering, and disease. You play as Steve, a recent graduate heading to college and hoping for a fresh start, new companions, and an opportunity to become someone. The story uses a dystopian setting, a school setting, and explores corruption.

The current build is v0.2, released September 14, 2026, and development is ongoing. It is available for Windows, Linux, and Mac, in English, without censorship. The latest update continues the plot and characters in Lunasity. Earlier v0.1 introduced the game's lore and characters as a first version of a dystopian visual novel, with limited content.

Developer's description

100 years after the Third World War, humanity rose from the ashes. They didn't just rebuild civilization — they created a perfect world. A world without crime. A world without suffering. A world without disease. Steve has just graduated from school and is now heading to college, full of hope for a new life, new friends, and a chance to finally become someone.

v0.2 The continuation and development of the plot and characters in Lunasity. v0.1 I'm happy to present a visual novel in the dystopian genre. This is the first version of the game, so there isn't a lot of content yet, but you can get acquainted with the lore and characters.
