About Blurring the Walls

Blurring the Walls is an adult visual novel by Torimiata, built in Ren'Py with animated 2D CG and AI CG artwork. You play a male protagonist on a vacation in the coastal city of Reivak with his girlfriend Ayumi and close friend Terrace. The story follows their trip as it turns into a slow exploration of trust, temptation, and new desires, especially after childhood friend Ari appears. Its themes include romance, swinging, and voyeurism.

The current release is v0.7.1 PV1, dated October 20, 2026, and development continues. It is available for Windows, Linux, Mac, and Android in English, without censorship. This preview includes more than 60 CGs and roughly 12,000 words, opening a new act with a deliberately milder pace before later scenes escalate. Torimiata also revised the base game with added CGs, completely new character sprites, reworked Viv CGs, and numerous bug fixes and polish.

Developer's description

In the coastal city of Reivak, you embark on a vacation with your girlfriend Ayumi and your close friend Terrace. Little do you know, this seemingly ordinary trip will lead you down a path where you are invited to navigate a web of lust, trust, and temptation. As the story unfolds, you find yourself torn between shyness and unexplored desires, while Ayumi, your playful and adventurous girlfriend, gently encourages you to open up to new experiences. Your journey takes a thrilling turn when you meet your childhood friend, Ari, who adds a new level of excitement and temptation to your already complex relationships. Once the walls of your inhibitions start to blur, there's no turning back. (so cheesy but had to!)

Changelog

v0.7.1 60+ CGs and roughly 12k words, this preview is more vanilla by design, the first scenes of a new act set the stage before things escalate. There's one scene coming up next that I was trying to include into this preview, because it's more spicy but I'm trying to keep the cadence I set out to do. So you will have to wait for Preview 2. (wink wink) I also did a major pass on base game: - A few new CGs added to previous scenes - Fully new sprites for all characters - Many Viv CGs redone where the original quality wasn't where I wanted it - Many bug fixes and polish v0.6.1 - Affinity system - TQ/SP indicators - Tons of bug fixes - A couple of new minor scenes, CGs and animations. v0.6.0 ~160 CGs (inc. variations) 24 animations (inc. variations) 15-20k words Closes out Act 1 Multiple bug fixes Minor fixes to past content 0.5.4v2 Important patch v0.5.4 Animations Completely Reworked: New animations added for all late-game content Older animations rebuilt with higher quality Higher resolution, proper looping, vastly improved color matching - the 3 key issues of the older ones Now with more experience I feel like they're at a better standard. Some might still need more cooking. But this should feel like an improvement across the board. Scene Gallery: Finally! Fundamental feature that was painful to implement but necessary Check what content you might have missed & Replay moments v0.5.35v2 • CG Improvements: Fixed worst offender CGs • OIder Content Polish: Added/improved a couple of older scenes for new players and replay value • Script: Cut down bulky writing in older sections and fixed minor script issues • Bug Fixes: Addressed many minor issues reported by the community (too many to list) • Visual Consistency: Subtle improvement to overall image quality and consistency v0.5.35 40,000+ words 250+ CGs (inc. variations) Key story moment 4-way branching paths (TQ/SP × Ari/Terrace) Mix of saucy scenes and slice of life moments Some reimagined scenes from the OG with significantly higher quality Due to the branching, individual playthroughs may feel shorter than the raw numbers suggest. Feel free to explore and find all the possible scenes - this will be easier once Gallery is implemented. v0.5.34 18,000+ words ~100 CGs Marco Polo scene conclusion Complex branching paths (SP/TQ routes testing) v0.5.33v2 N/A v0.5.32v2 Dozens of new Animations for existing scenes Android and Mac compatibility Various technical optimizations Script improvements and 'wall of text' reductions in longer sequences v0.5.31 • ~8,500 words in this first part • This update focuses more on slice-of-life and character development after the more saucy previous update • Contains a crucial conversation following the events of the previous update, setting up expectations for what's next • Several new CGs and scene compositions that required extra time (hence the split release) Technical Improvements: • MAC COMPATIBILITY FIX - Implemented fallback system for Apple M-series processors • Further refinements to the parallax effect system (continuing to optimize...) • Various fixes and quality-of-life improvements throughout (there's still feedback I need to get through! I have my backlog...) v0.5.30 What's New: • ~11,000 words (note: not that many separate scenes on this one, this update contains one sex scene, which as per my writing style dictates has to be >5k words ). • One of the scenes that OG fans have been waiting for. While I couldn't include animations this time around, I'm quite happy with how the static images came out and overall new script direction. But I'm sure it will still need another polish pass to feel 100% and I would like to explore animations at a later stage. • NEW SPRITES! After taking in your feedback, I've made several improvements to character expressions and overall polish. • New CGs for the "walking home" sequence that felt too empty, in fact, one plays an important role on this update! Technical Improvements: • NEW PARALLAX EFFECT - This update trials a shader-based parallax system that should look better and be more GPU-efficient (it's version 0.1, so please let me know how it performs!) • Various fixes and quality-of-life improvements throughout Other Notes: • Still working on UI features like gallery (these take significant dev time away from content, so trying to find the right balance) • More CG improvements coming - it's an ongoing process! v0.5.29 "What's New: • ~9,000 words of content (goes through lunch + early afternoon) • Introduction of KAI! (A new character who'll become more important as the story progresses but you can get a glimpse of his personality) • Improved and fixed many older CGs (still working on more improvements!)" v 0.5.28 Nearly 10,000 new words of content (majority being new content/dialogue!) Dozens of new CGs Upgraded to newer Renpy version 20-30% vram optimization improvement (diminishing returns)" v 0.5.27 Ramake - It's perfectly fine to keep 0.5.2 still there as some sort of OLD version as the remake hasn't caught up with it v0.5.2 - Around +36,000 words - Around +25 CG gallery events (+200 total new images inc. variations and animations) v0.4.2 If you have played 0.4.1, this is just a minor patch version with multiple fixes and script improvements and the gallery mode. Changelog from 0.3.2 to 0.4.2: - Around +26,000 words - 10 Key CG events (+250 total new images inc. variations and animations) - Gallery Mode (but you might have to unlock or restart the game to take full advantage...) - New sprites for Terrace. - New SFX. There might be bugs and other misc issues, just let me know if you find something v0.4.0 N/A v0.2.7 to v0.3.2 - Multiple minor script fixes. - Multiple minor CG cleanups and fixes. - Around +24,000 words - 8 Key CG events (+80 total new images inc. variations) with 2 animations. - A new character, Ari, complete with a set of sprites. - New SFX. v0.2.7 Added background music and sound effects to immerse you in the story The NTS point system is now fully functional, so your choices really matter as the narrative progresses I've worked hard to refine the script and dialogue to flow more naturally Fixed multiple sprite issues and on the CG art, to improve the visuals v0.2.5 Initial Release

Wow! The art is very consistent and well done, animations too. Act 1 seems like a warm up for things to come. Personally I'm more into NTS, swinging but not sure if that's going to be an option given the…

Controversy aside, the writing is genuinely god tier tried everything in the same genre and nothing comes close. Even after waiting almost 6 months, it's still the best out there. Can't wait for things to kick off.
