Chapter 5 - 1.1 Only change in this from Ch5 1.0 is that I redid one scene in Chapter 1 that I missed during the complete redo of most of the rest of that Chapter, so it’s not a major difference or anything. Like I have said previously, this is the fastest release of a Chapter so far, and it is also the best looking so far too, as expected from even low-end PC rendering sessions. Yet it is not rushed, quite frankly it made a nice change of pace not to be completely engulfed at the end of the Chapter having to work non-stop on everything to reach my target. I managed to stay pretty much on top of this one, all the way through. I mentioned to the paid Patrons that last chapter; there was some minor problems with the unzipping of the file for some people, leading to a couple of errors on certain images. From my tests, this only happened with Windows 10 built-in ZIP extractor. Ch4 extraction was completely fine with Windows 11 built-in ZIP extractor, WinRAR and 7-ZIP that I also tested with. Each computer is relatively different so who knows, but I had no problems with Ch 5 extraction over the past week, so if you run into any trouble, try a different ZIP Extractor program, but you should have zero problem in that regard I hope. Chapter 5 N/A Chapter 4 I have also managed to reduce the file size down by about gigabyte, without skimping on the image quality. I didn’t even touch Chapter 4 images yet, so I could reduce it down even further. Hopefully, worrying about keeping the file sizes below 5GB for the AVN’s future is over, and you won’t have to hear me complain about that ever again. I have also redone the first ever Mira scene, as that one has been annoying the hell out of me for ages now. I finally had enough time to just go back and redo it and bring it up to Chapter 4 quality, which is nice. I might do the same for the rest of Chapter 1, but the other scenes are not as dire as that first scene, so probably not. Maybe a few choice images here and there. Finally, I have changed the text to something a little nicer and easier on the eyes. I did intend to try and create a dark mode for the text that you could toggle on and off. But that turned out to be far more complicated than I thought it would be, particularly in Ren’py, so I have shelved it for now. Maybe some other time I will manage to get that done, but it’s not super important. Chapter 3 Well here it is, as always thank you all for your patience, support and time. As you’ll see, the file size is much bigger, due to switching to PNG images over JPGs for Chapter 3. This really makes the colours and visuals pop a bit more and it is the best-looking Chapter by far. Along with the PNG switchover I also have a much better method for post-image processing (a.k.a. photoshopping; but it’s done in GIMP, so is that gimping instead?) which has helped improve the visuals. I have also gone through Ch.1 and used this process to improve those images, along with brightening up a lot of them, and they look much better. I’ll also do this to Ch. 2 images at some point so everything will look much better in the future. I’ve also separated the music and long sound effects, as originally these were both being played through the music channels (there are 2 on Renp’y by default), but now I have added the long sound effects into the sound channel and the small sound effects can be played either through the sound channel or the voice channel. What this means, is that you can much easily adjust the music and sound effects individually and freely to your liking for any scene. You might think that I should have had this included from the start, but the voice channel was a little weird and I had to play around with it to get sound effects to go through them. But now it is done. Chapter 2 Hello everyone, I’m happy to release Chapter 2 to the public, please see the attachments below for v1.1 of Chapter 2 which has a few visual tweaks and upgrades to Ch.1 images as well as some spelling and grammar fixes that slipped by me last time. I mentioned in the paid subscriber/patron release that I wasn’t going to upload this version now to the public because of upload space limitations, but that has been resolved.
