it's just disgusting. one person correctly pointed out that the RPGM combat system was invented in Nazi Germany in order to torture people. it's more suffocating than the famous gas chambers. and if you look closely, the outcome of a battle is 100% dependent on the random number generator, and there's no point in winning. MC doesn't level up after winning, and it doesn't provide anything useful other than currency and consumables that can be found in crates, chests, and other locations. There's no point in getting involved in combat, except for the boss battles in the story, where the player only gets to see a small portion of the gallery.
3/5 - Solid artwork, but poor combat The H scenes and artwork in this game are quite excellent, the dialogue for combat encounters and combat sex encounters is solid at tying it to the gameplay. Outside of combat the game is pretty stock rpgmaker as of patch 0.90. Your character doesn't level up or even have an equipment system from what I can tell going through the north and south goblin dungeons. Combat encounters are placed excessively through these dungeon areas and feel especially long due to the stun and H combat system. This game would be improved by actually allowing Loki to escape most encounters as normal combat takes at minimum 2 minutes with good RNG due to needing to use skills to manage enemy intent. Enemy encounters with only two combatants are pretty manageable with the system as it is but without any effective forms of crowd control, especially shutting down multiple enemies performing grab attacks at once. As of right now if two or more enemies go for an H attack, one of them has a chance to go through (there is a chance it will miss), which in turn forces the player to use a quarter of max TP to struggle and escape (which may also fail). You can get stunlocked into a game over just for being unlucky. As of this moment the optimal way to playthrough this game is to save constantly, and restart and reload your save if you run into an enemy encounter out in the field that you don't want to experience the H event for, or you risk adding multiple hours of gameplay in the form of like, 30 encounters.
I went through many opinions of this games combat. Starting at its not that difficult just boring. To this is stun lock hell and really tedious. Then finding out the well made combat system the game has. Actually using all of your abilities is very important every move has a time to be used. The primary stun lock method is always preventable you have to use one of two methods of avoiding it. The system works surprisingly well, granted there is always the ability for RNG to fuck up other parts of the combat system and make you lose typically you could have played more conservatively and not lost though.
Just helping the score of this game get back to where it should be, the game is kind of difficult but that isn't as much of a problem as some people are making it out to be. The only downside that I can really say is that if you get unlucky and grappled and actually try to fight against it it can sometime take multiple minutes to get out and then you might be unlucky and get grappled right away again but if you play smart and keep a healthy stock of items you can easily survive through combat.
The art is awesome, the gameplay is meh, it can be better, it's the kind of game i love, with battle rape and game overs. I just hope they keep up with the development, not like the other games. The 5 stars are for now, and the promise the game shows.
This game is... unfair. And hard. And this is a plus. Why? Because it is a porn game. idk how about you, but I tired already of all these press "defence / surrender / wait" button 30 times to see h-content. In this game you will see h-content not because it is a CG/Art collection, but because enemies actually can win in battles, if you make mistakes (and even if you haven't, but chose not the best skill in current situation). Although, one downside to this I actually see in this game. Gameover screen after losing. Game would be several times better, if author hadn't forced you to load save after loosing. As for content: About 15 CG scenes (battle H + game over). Very great art style. Somewhat unique combat. Plot: yep, MC has big bouncy plot. What? You expected story in porn game? Sorry, not in this review.
V0.90 All things considered, at the time of writing this review, it is a crime to let this sit at a 2 star rating, so here is one to balance the scales. In actuality it might only be worth a 4* rating, but adding one more to balance the unfair treatment thus far; I do not get where all the hate is coming from for this. The art is great, varied, different expressions, with cutins and great shading. There are multiple poses, multiple variations and expressions on poses, with tiered restraint systems and multiple game overs all with at least 5+ images variations in each of them. The writing is your standard H-game plot, but the actual random-seed generated lines, alongside a clear character design and an excellent premise of "Goddess makes creatures lame as a punishment, so now they want to punish her" is right up the correct alleys. Hell, it even has voice acting for a good majority of the H, so even more points. As far as the gameplay goes, I can see where people are coming from in that if you get turn 1 against 4 enemies with each one of them doing a different technique that disables you, yeah that's rough buddy. But outside of those rare situations (which you CAN recover by escaping the grab, picking up weapon again etc. btw) it's actually really engaging. Hell, the regen skill effectively makes you recover all incoming damage for 7 turns, which I'm guessing the reviewers below didn't try? Both restrained and non-restrained combat has multiple options and multiple counters to enemy specials to consider. There is a real risk vs. reward system which combined with your 30%+ dodge rate (guessing based on playing) leaves some room for forgiveness. I actually found it quite challenging and got to see plenty of the H and debuffs, such as charm disabling all your abilities except the newly added "Suck him" skill, without actively trying to lose like you often have to in most H games. My only true gripes are the size of the maps in comparison to how barren they are, and the character's miss chance at times. But saying that the maps do make sense, have navigation, fast travel, keys+chests and are decently populated by enemies so it's not that bad, and the miss chance might have secretly been attributed to your debuffs. Neither of these I found gamebreaking or pushing me to the point of feeling forced to power through, just a detractor. Overall, for an RPGM game and the enormous amount of AI slop and basic scene finders we get nowadays, this was honestly a refreshing game that I genuinely enjoyed playing to the final zone.
The draw is the art. Regardless of their track record, Crescentia's main draw point has always been the art. The only reason why people still go on their SubscribeStar or whatever pay system is because their art is just that good. Artists with MUCH better games have had their rep dragged through the mud simply because their art wasn't good enough. The sheer amount of disconnection between the art and the gameplay is jarring but its the classic RPG gameover slop that we got in the 2010s. Regardless of how you feel about the gameover/passable combat h system, the fact that it's a simple and straightforward system appears to be more up their avenue. Their history in going for an Asagi-style game that required a heavy amount of CGs and their other smaller games that are completed to different extents is not good. But the fact that this is probably their most well-structured game proves that they are at least trying to learn rather than just copying systems from other games. It's a subpar gameover CG collector with the highest possible CG quality. 1 star for gameplay because its RNG and save editors are the only way to have any form of fun from it, 6 stars for art. Average is 3, but still above average for a Crescentia game so that's a good step forward.
Genuinely disappointed by how the talent of the artist is gone to waste with this game, if you want decent CGs and whatnot and pretty good variety go for it other than that dont play the game When you have to literally cheat your stats and still have trouble dealing with enemies you know something is seriously wrong with your game What a letdown, 1/5 do not recommend
The quality of this product is disheartening. It simply confirms that wolfzq has the right to take all those marketing liberties. I'm truly worried about the future of H-series production. This quality confirms that it's a good thing if hentai products are removed from Steam.
Heavy RNG-dependent. There is no 'skill' in playing. Everything is purely luckbase. You either get a good roll with enemy response or not. Hope you have fun attempting to progress through the goblin village BS fight. I gave up after four attempts and no one can come around and cry 'skill issue.' There are no fucking skill issues with this game. You can't call RNG factors a 'skill issue,' when something is completely out of your control. No level ups. No equipment. Item dependant and luck dependant. Shitty fucking approach to combat. Like, you not even meant to fucking win or progress to other parts cause of BS stunlock or sexlocking from mobs. Counter is basically useless as well given the slow stamina build up. Only good to hoard for stunlockking, but guess what? Enemies can spam stunlock in another turn, making this feature pointless due to... Well.. You fucking guess it, poor RNG mechanics. You either get lucky in the game with RNG rolls from enemy reactions or you don't and if you don't, well you just get fucked over into a GO and have to restart a long winded battle series. Yea, very good game design. It is clear these devs are art first, mechanics last. Edit: Game is still ass after giving it another go. Recycle animations in mobs for battle fuck. There are what, only two unquie scenes so far from what I discovered? Goblin BJ and the forest monster, I dunno if others. The fucking game is so ass that it makes it hard to discover any potential actual boss mobs due to the poor RNG-reliant system. I find it funny the five stars this keeps getting. Like we have reverse score manipulation going on cause clearly this game shouldn't even be pass two stars and three stars is pushing it. I wouldn't call this turd of a title average by any means. Just another proof on here you can't believe or trust the score system for a title. Don't believe me? Feel free to play it yourself and see just how fucking shit the gameplay is. Leaving your only real option is to RPG save editor to boost her combat to even progress.
