About Derealization

Derealization is a Ren'Py visual novel by Greenish Purple, using 3D computer graphics and animated presentation. It blends adventure and romance with psychological horror and black humor. You play a man near thirty who leaves his hometown for Steelport, the state's largest city, hoping to quiet his mental discomfort. Instead, daily troubles with old and new friends make him suspect that everyone around him is broken, while the story asks whether the real problem may lie within him.

The current build is v0.0.5.0, released July 28, 2023, and development is ongoing. It runs on Windows, Linux, Mac, and Android, with English text and no censorship. The latest changelog entry adds an expanded office segment involving Gray, following the initial release noted as v0.01. This update continues the project rather than closing it out.

Developer's description

3DCG visual novel with elements of psychological horror and black humor. You play as an almost thirty-year-old "young" man, who is fleeing from mental discomfort, leaves his hometown and moves to Steelport, the largest city in the state. Hoping to find peace with his own mind there. But he is too far from a state of harmony because every day there are more and more problems related to his new and old friends. Every day he becomes more and more convinced of the inadequacy of the people around him, who literally broke the chain. But... What if the problem is not in them?
