About Ellen Vague

Ellen Vague is an adult visual novel by LongJohnnyWalker, made in Ren'Py with 3D CG artwork. You play as Ellen, a bestselling erotica author who takes a vacation to overcome writer's block and seek inspiration. Her trip leads to Bryatt Fowls, a quiet town full of odd residents, a strange corpse on the road, a sheriff who is a secret fan, and repeated chances for a refined writer with questionable morals. The story mixes paranormal events, parody, and romance while following Ellen as she explores the town and its unexplained troubles.

The current build is v0.2, released January 21, 2024, and development is ongoing. It runs on Windows, Linux, Mac, and Android, in English, with no censorship. The update adds up to 28,000 words of text, about 400 renders, more than 2.5 hours of voice files, new animations, and several new scenes, including two additional possible scenes. It also includes render bug fixes, fixes an endless loop when visiting the hotel before the diner, and adds Mac and Android builds, the latter tested by the creator and the former untested.

Damn, this feels pretty uninspired for a porn parody. Alan Wake is a strange franchise to choose in the first place, and LongJohnnyWalker seems to have only taken surface level elements. And even then there are tons of missed opportunities…

For a first version this is excellent and already has some decent content. The story starts quickly and is engaging (considering the genre). I like the characters, not quite as generic as usual. Definitely worth putting it on watch list.
