Game: Glare1more-2024-09-05 This game is interesting, but not for me. It's a mystery game that is fairly tedious. I want it to be better, but it's too clunky for it to succeed. I scraped the game files for all (I think) possible search terms. Hopefully this is helpful to someone. The ai is not very good, so you need to be very specific. Story: 4/5 An old-school text based mystery game. Fairly engaging. Art: 3/5 A decent live 2d model, and some short animated hg scenes. It's fine Sound: 2/5 The music tracks are generic, but nice. The sound effects are minimal. Linux Compatibility: 2/5 Runs fine through wine with some tweaks. A nightmare to figure out how to get it working, though. Spoiler: Linux Compatibility While it is a nwjs game, replacing the runtime does not work, as the game wants its save file in the system root. Virtual machines work, but I don't like those. I ending up using wine, but it needs two fixes to work. - Text input crashes immediately. Run game with `--in-process-gpu` to fix this. - Some text does not render. Install `unifont` to fix this. A very interesting, and personally, novel VN. It's a text adventure, where you input words into a box and the game replies accordingly. There's not a lot of porn games like this. It's a very nice little story about growing closer to your robot maid. Without too many spoilers, it's very nice. Will say that this is one of those games that are slightly detrimented by their inclusion of pornography. I could see this game seeing a wider audience if it had no such scenes. The Y Story is an interesting little mystery story, but unfortunately, the lack of interactivity makes it harder to get into.

This game is still just as bad as it was back in 2018. Normally word based conversations have responses for things shown in the games. Like "Fridge". But in game Glare just says we can't search for anything and the developer was lazy. You shouldn't need a guide to fundamentally play the game. Just do yourself a favor and watch the cg rips instead. Its a hell of a lot less aggravating and pointless.

It feels strangely extended by guess-the-keywords author has in mind minigame, it could be packaged as plain VN and nobody would complain. And I'm probably among majority that would prefer it this way. It's about 1h game if you manage to find appropriate keywords - probably more, because some of them are obsured. And through playthrough you will be accompanied by silence and occasional bleeps. The only thing that will ever move is Glare, your maid robot, and after you make your way guessimating keywords you'll be rewarded by few 2D-live H-animations. I'd give it a 3 stars, max, but because this silly kind of minigame was deemed unfun even in 90' Amiga games, Shadow of Beast 2, to name a one. It's easy to make, but makes enduser not to enjoy game and immerse as usual, but rather be on constant lookput for keywords to input later. The worst part it often forces player to follow thought pattern of an author so there you go, many players will be discouraged early, rest might sunk hours to figure out what the fuck should they do. And in this case reward is not so rewarding. This should be a VN. 2/5 get a Steam walthrough if you want to play - or better - a real VN, with visuals, novel and actual audio.

Wao, this game's theme might just be "mildness". It's probably made by a single person though, so it's good enough by itself I say. I have no qualms about it ambitiousness. Not that I regret playing it, it was fun in it's own way. Reminds of those Tads/Rads games I used to play, when you type your way through your adventure. 3/5
