We find ourselves in Japan, in the not too distant future. Crime runs rampant as an impotent police force looks on, powerless to effect change. Enter Ren’ou Academy. Within these walls, first-class bodyguards are reared alongside the daughters of the nation’s richest families. Spoiler It is here that we meet our protagonist, Kaito Asagiri. After completing a year of intense training, he is to be awarded with the right to act as a bodyguard for one of the Ladies that attend Ren’ou. However, as the new school year is beginning, Kaito finds that his feelings differ from those of his peers, who are all ready to embrace their new lives. On the day of the opening ceremony, he, reticent as always, attempts to leave by delivering a letter notifying the school of his withdrawal. And all is going according to plan… that is, until he meets one particular girl. The winds of change are beginning to blow. “I’ve taken an interest in you. I’ll let you revel in that for a moment,” she said, not caring to hear his opinion on the matter. “What about this am I supposed to ‘revel’ in, exactly?” There’s a quiet passion in his words, a passion that his deliberately indignant tone can’t quite conceal. He hadn’t thought it possible, but she has charmed him. He wants to protect her.

Spoiler free review, I promise I'm being careful. So why am I rating this trilogy of games so low you might ask? Well I have 61 hours into this so far, yes you read that correctly I have 61 hours into this. At first I was giving it an 8/10 but the more I played it, the weaker it gets and I've decided to stop playing now that my opinion is a 2/10. I haven't finished all the routes in the 3rd game, Twilight Judgement yet and I do not intend to because Reika is the only main girl from the 1st game who gets a route which completely stomps on it's legacy. I will summarise my other points below by their level of egregiousness: -I really could do without the irregular references and even direct plot points related to homosexuality. Make of that statement what you will. -There is too much mystery that is kinda grueling to uncover. You may really be interested in a powerful supporting characters past but it gets drip fed to you as you go through multiple routes of multiple games. -The main characters personality is like 80% my Dad. Not much meaning to you guys but still, it's a bit weird because I can't self insert into his choices really. -Most VN's have too many scenes that are drawn at an angle. I understand they're created at 45 or 90 degrees to fit more on screen or avoid the text box but i simply detest having to tilt my head so hard to get a proper look at them. There are quite a lot more "death by 1000 cuts" things I dislike and some others which are almost important enough to give a bulletpoint to but I'm not writing a book here. Some good points: -Exceptional voice acting, I'm talking top tier here. I really enjoyed this part at least. -The art quality is very good but I did not enjoy any of the H scenes whatsoever sadly. -I did not do this but if you follow the guide or even ask ChatGPT for help then you can probably get the best out of this game and avoid the pitfalls. TLDR This trilogy offers a very unique experience that you won't really find anywhere else but if you don't like even 1% homosexual stuff, then you better skip it. Same for if you want a storyline that isn't very convoluted. edit:typo

The security package reports a threat, I'm informing you in case anyone is wondering whether to download more than 6GB of data. It's a shame, because the game looks interesting. If anyone really wants to check it out, I highly recommend the official version.

Good VN, interesting story They didn't overdo the overpowered main character archtype, and was a well written story. I am rating it a 5 out of 5 because of mainly the story, however the author who wrote the story is the same author who wrote classroom of the elite, and his works commonly has an overpowered main character who is hiding his true abilities for whatever reason. Which kind of sum up the anime, the comedy is great, although some of the characters get annoying, they grow on you later on.
