Heatwave: Sam’s Stay is an adult visual novel by CodyFord, made with Ren'Py and presented with 3D animated CG. You play Sam during his last summer before university, when he must stay at the home of Michael, his mother’s former husband, a man he has not seen for over a decade. The visit becomes more complicated as past resentment collides with new curiosity. Through meetings with other men and unfamiliar feelings, Sam begins to learn what he truly wants. The story centers on gay romance and a male protagonist’s perspective.
The current build is an extended demo, version 2026-05-28, released on May 28, 2026. It runs on Windows, Linux, and Mac, is in English, and has no censorship. This update offers a free preview of the tension and connections around Sam. You experience his early arrival and meet Darius, one of several appealing men involved in changing his summer.
Developer's description
The last thing Sam expected during his final summer before university was to end up staying at Michael’s house, his mom’s ex-husband. A man he hadn’t seen in over ten years and didn’t have the fondest memories of. What was meant to be a short stay quickly becomes something far more complicated, when old resentment meets unexpected curiosity. As Sam meets new people and struggles with unfamiliar thoughts, one thing becomes clear: this trip isn’t just about getting by, it’s about discovering what he really desires.
