I Want Unlucky Men to Be Happy

Short but good game with branching paths that are still being developed at the time of me posting this review. The story the developer is trying to portray is interesting so far and it’s constantly teasing certain outcomes that in due time do happen. The unfaithful relationship in one of the routes is the one that is most fleshed out as of right now but I do worry that perhaps the game might set itself up to some problems down the line due to too many options that can branch out. The last update that I played the developer seems to have added some still images that seem AI generated they aren’t bad, in fact they are quite good as they do keep the same characters look just a bit more polished, I don’t mind the change but having it go from the initial style to suddenly the more polished one is quite sudden. I do recommend people give it a try at least.

This one (as far as 0.1.5 version goes) is not terrible, but definitely not good. For a story about a porn writer, the story is pretty bad. Characters make little sense, events move around at lightning speed just because, and it branches out so much and so deeply that it's impossible the game will fill all those routes successfully. Choices do matter a lot, way too much, giving rise to such different scenarios that they are basically almost different games, which would be great in a game done by a larger team but here it means that every route so far has little content, which feels rushed as well. Render quality is mostly decent, though sometimes resolution seems to be really low. Animations are decent as well, but tend to be on the short side and sex scenes themselves are lackluster, lacking variety, extension and buildup. There is music but I turned it off (always do) so can't comment on it. So, all in all, this one is a drop for me.

The wife straight up cheats with a hobo… I honestly don’t have words for how fast this escalated. I understand she was angry, but man… with a homeless guy? This kind of stuff really needs proper buildup. Overall: This is a fapable game, worth giving a try. 4.5/5

The female main char was incredible, love this content, style and route building of this game, can't wait for main route of main female, it's still have nothing but promising + really damn sexy shaped females with surpringly also sexy faces + good renders! + really like the setting (great idea for a porn game in a too unrepresented niche - but this means also less competition which i think is a good thing!) + ntr + old and ugly men*

The main female character is 10/10. I love how she looks, can't wait for more, especially knowing from the last update that the story starts to spice things up , I wish this game will available on steam this is one of my fav now

Cons: - first path i wanted to take with the gf didn't work - scene with hobos etc could be more positions (hobos etc could be even older or ugylier or smaller) a bit too straight forward at the moment but i like the simplicity of the game but quality everywhere else like renders, models, navigatione etc. pretty big potential i really look forward for much more! (and please let the gf also make stuff with these guys even without the bfs "permission". please also add tit sucking most tits are way too milky looking to not get sucked on. interested what paths/possible decisions the mc is able to make and if it gets too repetitve or not. - and even it gets repetitive the quality and potential creative sex scenes will make up for it!)

I think there is a VN to be made from this demo if there were a few changes. Visually the mix of models chosen is really good but the scenes are too short to say that they are excellent. I really like the concept of a struggling film company that's short on money trying to think out of the box ideas to make porn films. The MC as the actor and director works and the friend chatting about ideas in the coffee shop is fine, as he continues to not get involved in filming with the MC. The shady boss, wife, the corruption, blackmail, hidden camera plots and the homeless guys, don't work for me. I think if the story was about him finding women in everyday life to do porn with him from his friends or people he meets, a barista, a dispatch ride who ends up on set and you ask to be in it, an office girl maybe from a temp job, the dental assistant at his dentist, a nurse or even I suppose a homeless girl for the first project as you have no money, it could really work. Anyone looking for quick cash or an idea that inspires the MC in real life that can lead to a filmed scene. Possibly trying to film secretly while others are working. Such as a real nurse in hospital while on a break. There so many possible scenarios so long as the MC's normal life away from film making was interesting, it could work as a VN. If the dev just expanded the current format, it seems too complicated with the corruption, blackmail, hidden camera plots of the boss, the wife and the friend, I'm not sure it will work. It should be about having fun not corruption.

Edit for 0.1.3 - Still incredibly short. Each update seems to add a few scenes to each. Check back in half a year and there might be a decent amount of content at this rate. --- Review of 0.1.1 tldr; Incredibly short, tags feel misleading. Pros : Very attractive models (for me). Cons : Essentially no content. There's ~4 scenes with random women and either you or a homeless guy if you select one option at the beginning and zero scenes if you select the other option (well, your wife in lingerie if you want to count that). Tags are somewhat misleading. There's basically no netorare/swinging content at the moment since there's zero emotional attachment to the women you're shooting for porn and your wife doesn't have any scenes yet. If you want to count a pornstar getting railed by a homeless guy as NTR/swinging, have at it. There are no endings, multiple or otherwise, since the game isn't finished), there's no MILFs that I saw (possible one of the random porn actresses was one), no oral sex.. just what even are these tags? ---- Avoid until more updates. Only reason I'm giving it two stars is because the models are good (for my tastes) and it's a very early demo.

Overall, it exceeded my expectations. The graphics use VAM, which is a brave attempt compared to the mature DAZ. The author used a rather pleasing method, designing the MC as an AV photographer, which gave him a lot of room for creativity. The pace is fast, and the porn scenes are very direct. However, the content of each update is not too much. The future is promising. The biggest risk is that the author hesitates during the creative process and repeatedly deletes the content he has completed.
