This is easily the best Koikatsu game on this forum. I wouldn’t say it’s perfect, but the overall quality is far above anything else available. One of the biggest issues is the pace of development. The project started in 2023, yet the actual progress so far is very small. There’s barely any content in terms of adult scenes, and the few that exist feel more like isolated moments than something tied to the story. Another problem is that I honestly forgot what the MC’s original goal even was. He just seems to live day by day without any real direction, as if nothing matters anymore. It almost feels like he already achieved whatever he set out to do and is now just drifting through life. That’s obviously not what actually happened, but that’s the impression the story gives. What we essentially have is a “teacher” who is completely incapable of teaching. He spends most of his time talking with students or casually flirting with them. At the same time, the students don’t really treat him like a teacher either. He feels less like a faculty member and more like just another guy hanging around the school doing nothing. There’s also no real romance yet. At most there’s some light flirting. The MC appears to be slowly, very slowly, building connections with the girls. That said, the girls themselves are great. They’re all interesting in their own way, and I ended up liking every one of them. My favorites are Chiyo, Kumi, and Nariko. I especially didn’t expect to like Nariko as much as I did. One feature I really appreciate is the interface option that lets you jump directly to the next event. For someone like me who doesn’t enjoy sandbox gameplay, that’s a big advantage since it avoids wasting time wandering around looking for triggers. One thing I really dislike, however, is the light theme. It looks quite bad in my opinion. The developer should either redesign it or at least add alternative themes in the options. Right now the game has very little content, but what is there is extremely well made. Because of that, I still strongly recommend it, and I can easily see it becoming a five-star game if development continues and the story expands.
This game is a slow burn slice of life game with mystery and horror elements that I find absolutely riveting. I don't generally like sandbox games because I find them to be tedious and repetitive, but with how lovingly crafted the characters are I see no issues interacting with them and there is no rule which says you have to continue to see the same scenes over and over again. The characters are the highlight of the visual novel. They are all unique and engaging in their own ways. Some make you laugh, some make you want to protect them and some make you worry for them. They're engaging, funny in their own unique ways and simply delightful to read. The main character is usually the main drawback to these types of games. Authors either have them act like 12 year old boys being mean to the girls they like because that's what pre-pubescent boys do or they mansplain everything and take away the female LIs agency by making them all look and feel vapid. The main character has moments of good advice and wisdom but makes no bones about him not being the shaprest knife in the drawer. The horror and mystery elements give an under current of low key dread which belies the generally sunny disposition of the characters. That being said it is not for everyone. If you're reading it to get off quick you most likely will be disappointed. If you're reading it for a fast-paced plot with tons of action you, similarly, will not be over-joyed. If you're reading it for carefully written characters and a funny, sometimes touching slice of life VN you will find it, as I have, right up your alley.
For the love of god, push the plot somewhere... You have these beautiful characters that you clearly care about, I can see the amount of effort you put in every scene, interaction and emotion their limited koikatsu model is capable of, but please do something interesting with them! I've been playing for 4 or 5 hours and there's barely any development at all. Yes, there should be a phase of introduction and getting to know the characters for the sake of world building but too much of it will bore the player who downloaded a SEX game, you know, erotic stuff? I realized there's no gallery in the menu because there's barely anything sexual. Also the amount of weeb culture is too much even with the option turned off.
There's slow burn and then there's no burn. What I managed to sit through of this game is the latter: just hours of clicking through the same generic menu over and over to trigger endless vapid conversations between one dimensional characters in which the right answer seems to always be the top choice. I won't give it 1 star, because there's at least nothing offensively bad about it. It's just mind-numbingly uninteresting.
"Nothing interesting happened on the weekend " Basically no plot, or spooks, or evil. Riveting slice o life scenes like let's talk about everyone's favourite food, in detail. Impressively unlikable cast of walking tropes, carefully engineered to have A trait. Bizzare pseudo-sandbox with awkward options that commits you to scenes or rejects girls before you even get to know them. You actually have to be an asshole and a bad teacher, otherwise you get locked in a "friendship" relation with an airhead or the author's MyAnimeList hot take dispenser. Despite the simple structure the game thought twice a scene happened when it didn't, and actually broke down into an infinite loop of searching for the next event, presumably because I turned down too many girls. It might have also spoiled a movie for me. Good visual quality, writing is technically competent and sometimes even good, but mostly just not engaging. If you like how the girls look and always pick the top option you might have a good time.
I remember reading a few pages in the thread for this game shortly after it's first couple updates or so. Did not look like a game I wanted to play based on a screen shot and general chatter. I decided to try it out since it seemed to have a pretty committed dev and some content built up. I was way off, in fact I'm a bit embarrassed I dismissed it back then. There is a lot of effort put into this one, it's well rounded and actually pretty good for being kinda sandboxy. The whole cast has personality and it is quite novel to see the story unfolding from several points of view. Even more so since it doesn't feel like it's spreading out too much like some other games that try to have branching story. The girls are all fairly unique and intriguing in their own way and of course attractive. And the lewd scenes are pretty hot. The MC is even pretty alright. He manages to feel like a proper player avatar and an interesting character at the same time. The writing is easy to understand and fairly down to earth. Which makes the thriller/horror elements really pop when they crop up. Just don't think too hard about the resident esper. So if you ignored it like I did early on based on the first few pages of the thread consider trying it for yourself.
It has a good script, fun characters that made me laugh several times, and each character feels unique. The choices can feel like an illusion from time to time, and there isn't as much porn content as one would like, but at least it's an interesting story that builds slowly.
Pacing is very good and the characters are very intriguing and each has her own personality. Also the story is only hinting at the evil which makes it interesting. The only negative points I have is that sometimes the backgrounds are very sterile and have room for improvement. Furthermore the junk of the MC is like with other games ..... way overboard. A "normal" big dick instead of this monstrosity would be better & realistic in my opinion.
First impression very good i think the developers are doing a very good job in any field, to character personality to their desing and let's not forget about the dialogues, every one off them feel natural and i love this part of the game.
This has the makings to be an all-time favorite. Visual Quality: - Great animations (slightly jerky at times, but the cuteness factor outweighs any rough edges) - Fantastic models - Fantastic character design (clothing + aesthetic which suits personality) Writing: - Protag can be a bit...annoying, at times, but there's a strong implication that it is part of the narrative and will be developed and explored later. I can see a good path forwards - Each character has a very distinct personality and you can see how carefully the balance on the edge of sincerity and masking. They have passions, they have flaws, they have confidence, they have insecurity. I genuinely want to get to know them better - The interactions with MC and the LI are well-written and ease into any lewd scenes and sexual dynamics. It's a bit of a slow burn, but IMO if you don't want a well-written slow burn, go to pornhub.
i want to note something that i think is fantastic about this, i love how often things that happen in 1 on 1 events are referenced, what i mean by that is that is often in sandbox games 'events' often have stuff that's never referenced again, except by the character who's event it was, but seeing so much be talked about between characters in other events and scenes made it feel much more natural compared to a lot of sandbox games, (also the skip button is genuinely amazing for when i was nearing the end of the current version) characters are all great so far too all in all, fantastic so far, look forward to the next version, loving the small drops of the main story you've thrown in too
I love the game so far. I love the models and the characters of this game. The MC is okay. I am looking forward to seeing how the game develops with future updates I think this game has a lot of potential.
Much better than I expected going in. Lots of good scenes, and characters are interesting and engaging. Will have to deal with random Japanese romaji (english text of japanese words) sprinkled in. I understood it so it didn't bother me but I could see it being weird if you don't know what those words mean. Pacing is good and slow burn but also understanding that it's a game with explicit content so some characters pacing is more dramatic that it could be which is understandable. Animations have been top notch and can tell there was a lot of effect and love that went into them which I always appreciate. Main character has the general protagonist personality and some forth wall breaks which were funny as well. Overall a very enjoyable read from start to finish so far and would happy engage with more after I finished which is usually the mark of a good series.
Great job so far. Lots of content for a first chapter being put out, it's great that our time isn't wasted hunting for events as well. A few criticisms in that the random Japanese phrases being thrown out are a bit odd and jarring if you don't understand what they mean (and I didn't) but the quality of the characters and renders are fantastic for a first pass. There are obviously some similarities between this and That One Harem School Game, especially with the cafe girl and the class nerd tropes, but otherwise great job so far. Looking forward to the second chapter.
i played the 0.1.4 and it was really funny, the horny and "goofy" animations are really good, the chapter´s 1 cliffanger let me "wtf?" in a good sense hahaha my favorite girl was Suki, i hope she has more content soon. Good game, its really promising
The game starts with you as a disembodied being taking over the life of a recently deceased young executive at an all-women's office. You are informed that you will either help or destroy them (likely leading to a choose-your-ending cinematic at the conclusion of this probably never-finished work). The game is intended to include horror and comedy elements, but the 'horror' aspect feels cliché , while the comedy comes across as the overly confident, try-hard style often seen in online forums. The love interests in the game follow typical tropes, such as the inexperienced, energetic friend falling in love, the horny bisexual girl, the sporty girl, the rich girl with a good heart, and so on. The main character (MC) lacks a distinct personality beyond pondering multiple times about their body's past. This lack of personality might not be an issue if there were ample choices for players to role-play, but such choices are lacking. Player input is limited to deciding whether to pursue a romantic interest. The story itself is vague, with the MC going to work on multiple days and interacting with one-dimensional love interests. Occasionally, you witness the love interests interacting without the MC in an unsuccessful attempt to flesh them out as characters. Essentially, this game feels like an e-hentai gallery implemented in Ren'Py, with a location selection menu added to extend the gameplay.
The start of one of the great Koikatsu games if this keeps getting updates. No complaints from me, the amount of content in the release was so much as well. I really enjoyed the story elements and can see that this opening is just the start to something that will truly be great.
I don't remember laughing so much at a game lately. humor alone can elevate a game to a very high level. apart from that, I also liked the renders very much. I think there is no reason to deduct points.
(Review of version 0.1.1) It's new and just getting started, but what they have released so far is simply incredible. This game has some of the best dialogue and humor that I have ever seen in an indie adult game. The amount of hilarious situations and scenes that they manage to weave together is amazing. There is no "oh this is boring let me click click click through this scene" content - at all. I enjoyed every word of it. The pacing is perfect - it's not instant gratification where you meet girls and they want to bang you 30 seconds later, but it's also not an extreme slowburn where the devs are just milking you for aeons slowly building up to the actual sexual content. The graphics are really impressive; this is by far the best use of Koikatsu I have ever seen. It puts other previous Koikatsu games to shame. The game has high quality sound and music as well, a level of detail that is often skipped on new adult game releases and then maybe (and usually shoddily) added in later. Really just an A+ title all around. Dying to see the next update!!!
Bruh the comedy is top tier kinda confusing the start, maybe changing it could help the start of the game like showing the accident and going back in the time to show what happened and how the mf ended in that body
