Love Room Craft was very promising when I saw its thumbnail image posted. Good looking pixel art, and a fun game concept! So color me surprised to discover it was actually pretty lackluster in both senses. I've played a few games prior that had a similar base-building theme and Love Room Craft is hardly close to those in terms of game quality. Love Room Craft grants you with fifteen or so near identical characters each supporting the same 5 animations, which you don't even get to choose which you see when they are activated. When the game begins you're not given much of an instruction, which is honestly not too much of a problem. In fact, I would say this stage of the game was what I gained the most enjoyment from. Simply zooming my mouse around the screen and chopping down trees and shrubs to get money. It wasn't until I found the "achievements" tab that I realized how to progress. Achievements are basically steps to complete and serve as your main questline. It's quite a simple system. Cut down trees, get money, build base, buy girls to hang out on your base, upgrade their rooms in your base, smash. That might sound awfully repetitive, and that's because it is. But simplicity doesn't have to be inherently bad. The issue lies in how the porn quality hardly rewards the menial labor. All the sex scenes are activated instantly upon pressing the sex button in the menu of any girl. The scenes are acted upon the actual pixel art sprites of the girls which are already quite small and not very intricate. Therefore, to get even the most minimal enjoyment out of it, you practically have to zoom into the max viewing distance (Which to be fair, the zooming is quite generous and allows you to zoom very far in.) but even then the scenes themselves are very dull and underwhelming. Far from intricate, and not even fun conceptual. Basic positions with little extra spice, made even more lackluster from the simple, non-descript pixel art style. So you may be thinking to yourself that this game seems like it's main focus was to simply be an interior designer with the sex aspect merely shoehorned in. Except, I wouldn't even give it that, honestly. The interior design aspect is just as basic and minimal depth as the sex scenes. There are very few furniture and design options, with only one or two more wallpapers/flooring unlocked with every girl, and new furniture only being unlocked every couple of girls; meaning by the end of the game I only had a mere 5 different furniture sets: Light Wood, Dark Wood, White Wood, Black Wood, and Marble. Even despite these already pitiful limitations, any creativity you could possibly gain from this is all but stomped out entirely, as each girl has a preference for what their rooms are to look like, demanding specific wallpaper, flooring, and furniture styles. Plus, their satisfaction is required to be high to progress. This game is pretty much all but scripted in it's progression. It's a game where I truly have to ask what the purpose of it's creation is, and I can hardly think of a single justification for its existence. Not abysmally awful by any stretch, just painfully mid, and that's partially worse. I had to really stretch to continuing thinking up different ways to saying "Boring and Underwhelming," even avoiding the use of "Minimalist" as that refers to a particular style, whereas this game is utterly soulless. I beat the entire game in about 2-3 hours, and even then consider it to have been a deep waste of time.

An important thing about the game its that you can play it on it. After "playing" for 5 minutes withanly beeing able to do place some rocks or trees i really can't do anything else. I Could search how to play in the comments in this thread but i don't think it's worth the effort. (v1.0) Bloodgarden.

The game looks quite good and the animations are somewhat well made, but, unbelievably, there are only 6 or so animations shared by all characters. There are only 2 outfits + naked. - This is basically a small demo of a management game, except it is completed. - The gameplay is annoying and a bit frustrating. Placing and deleting stuff takes too many clicks and you can only delete certain objects if you select the delete mode inside that object's category. You constantly find yourself misplacing blocks. There are only 2 orientations for block placement, and there is no map rotation, realistically you can only create rooms facing down or to the left. - One of the biggest flaws of this game is not having the item names/descriptions. A character asks for a "marble wall"... well, which one is it? There are 3 walls that look somewhat like marble. There are also bugs in the requirements. For instance, when I placed 3 dark wooden beds, suddenly the character started complaining that she only liked wooden or dark wooden furniture. All furniture was dark wooden. Removing the third bed fixed this problem, for some reason.

It's a small scale town (just rooms in this case) builder, except the dev simply forgot to make it any fun to play. Right off the bat, the game doesn't have a proper tutorial and you have no idea what it even wants to do. I'll place some floor tiles and walls...and whoops I'm already out of money so now what? Well it expects you to figure out you're supposed to go to the 'furniture' panel that has trees and rocks in it, go to delete mode, and then...clearcut the entire map to get money from that. Eventually you realize the achievement menu is actually the tutorial on how to progress, so you follow that until you hit the next hurdle; how do you raise the first girl's satisfaction? If you talk to her she says she wants her own room, but how do I make a room when I can't even build doors yet? Turns out sealing her in with walls is good enough apparently. Once the girl's health and satisfaction are high enough you can click the sex button which gives you a little pixel animation and some money(???), which is your only source of income after deleting all the trees and rocks. And that's it, that's the entire game. You just repeat this process with the rest of the girls that get unlocked, but I completely lost interest at this point. This feels like a version 0.2 alpha, not a completed product being sold on DLsite.

TLDR: Neat premise, poor execution. 2.5* rounded down to 2* -0.5*: There's barely any sort of tutorial. - After you start the game, it'll label the buttons & toss you in without any explanation on what to do. All you can do is follow the achievements. -1.5*: You gotta figure stuff out yourself: - After the first couple unlocks, it gets irritating, as none of the objects are labeled. - This is especially so since the girls require specific sets to increase their "satisfaction" [Aka. Talk to them and they say stuff like: wooden or dark wooden furniture, metal or concrete walls, etc) - Thus, you may end up stuck & having to buy&replace to figure what is what. -0.5*: Porn/Game is repetitive - If you look at the screenshots, that's nearly all the game has. Just 4~6? pixel sex with the 12 girls.

I'm stuck between a 2/5 and 3/5 because there are some issues with QoL that make this game more tedious than it needs to be, but the other parts of the game are decent so it would be unfair to rate it super low... Gameplay is simple and cozy, fulfill the achievement goals, which mostly rely on villager's happiness, such as a house that's big or small, with X wall, Y flooring, Z furniture type to get to 80% happiness. Unlock new girls, fulfill their demands, etc. My problems will be at the bottom. Music and sound are simple. Placing things and removing things have a simple sound effect, sex sounds but no voices, etc. It's very simple, but nice. If anything it's probably the best thing here. Visuals are nice but... Very simple. Because of the chibi style and the top-down perspective, it can feel a bit "outside" if that makes sense, as well as furniture and walls can get in the way despite walls getting transparent if the girls are too close because of overlapping textures. If you block the head of the bed and put them to sleep, when they wake they will get stuck and the bottom of the bed will block part of their body during sex. So... My issue with the gameplay is that it relies on you fulfilling demands, such as using marble wall, or panel wall. OK, so I assumed the first white wall I got is marble; it's mildly textured, white, and looks similar to the concrete wall. Nope, it's snow. What about this white tile? Yes, this time it's marble, so when the girls asks for white tile, it is NOT the white tile, but the white tiling with black in the center. What about panel wall? Turns out, it's the marble looking wall with the panel. So you may be asking yourself, if you can tell visually, what's the problem? Because they share similar color schemes, you have to make note of what exactly they are. It's not hard to figure out what tile or floor or furniture is what, but it DOES make it more tedious than it needs to be, since the only way you can tell is based on texturing, and mood, so you waste money early on. It could be labelled under something like, "Marble furniture" or "Metal furniture" but instead you just have to guess and double check their happiness. Another issue is that panning the camera is ONLY mouse movement. You can't use WASD to pan the camera, but you can press R to rotate furniture so... Why? Essentially my gripes are that it's just more annoying than is needed to do things. There's a plethora of white and black furniture, flooring, and walls, but are you sure they are correct? Are you sure it's marble vs white? Want to move the camera just a bit while building a house? Well, now you have to move your camera out of the house just to place furniture if it's just out of view .

Nice cozy game, but becomes quite a chore when you need to satisfy people's needs. They prefer white tile floor. Oky, here, get your white tile floor. Hmm, satisfaction stuck at 85%, at least it's over 80% (the minimum required to unlock new content), so what's missing? Oh, you prefer white floor? But you already have white floor, what more can i do? Dunno. Otherwise, it looks cute, but gameplay is kind of unintuitive even if easy to understand. Place walls, place floor, place furnitures, place villager, talk to villager to know what they want, have sex, make money, rinse and repeat.

A very boring game. The four preview images pretty much sum up the entire experience. Playtime is about two hours. The first 30 minutes are spent just trying to figure out WTF you're supposed to do. The first task is to chop down/remove trees, but it's hidden under achievements. It took me ages to discover that you have to press the chair icon and then the hammer to chop down trees, because none of the buttons or objects are labeled. There's no tutorial or story whatsoever. After that, you gradually unlock new villagers by completing ridiculous tasks. Most of the time, you have to fulfill the villagers' requests for a room, which is incredibly annoying. One wants a wooden floor with wooden decorations and wooden walls, then it's metal, or concrete, or cement, or polished, or dark wood, or light wood, or whatever... Since none of the objects are labeled, it's always a frustrating guessing game. The villagers don't do anything except walk around in circles. You can build doors into the houses, but they're never used. None of the other objects you place in the room are used either. There's no food or anything else. Basically, there's no motivation to do anything except get all the achievements and unlock all the characters, and then call it a day... oh, and the H-part is boring too. But the villagers look quite cute, so at least one star for that : )
