My Wife in His Embrace

This is probably my favorite Atelier Sakura game. Usually their games have 3 endings: - One that treats cuckolding as fully bad, and therefore not doing it will instantly and magically fix all your problems (present here), - One that treats cuckolding as straight up evil, and therefore doing it will instantly ruin your life and turn your otherwise loving partner into a sex demon incapable of thought (thankfully NOT present here) - One that's usually more ambiguous and less negative about the kink. This third one more often than not is the only one I end up liking, but surprising this is not the case here. For once I like all 3 endings! - The first one does have problems. Kazu (the mc) has some psychological trauma that causes him to be impotent, and that completely disappears if he ignores that trauma. It's still decent just because it's pretty wholesome. - The second one is right up my fantasy alley, I used to do RP'ing and this scenario came up a lot. Basically, Kazu is still married to Naomi, but Kou (their friend) is now her primary partner of sorts. They are truly happy, and it's sweet. I do have a couple of issues here: the mc is stated to avoid the two even though he says that watching his wife and best friend together is what brings him happiness. There's no other sign that he's lying, so it felt kinda random. Another thing is that Naomi basically stops being a person and turns into a sex crazed succubus. It's a tad bittersweet since the mc says that he feels lonely sometimes, but I still found it pretty wholesome. - The third one is the good ending, which is surprising. Usually AS games have the first kind of ending be the good one. Here, the trio is together, all 3 are happy with each other and their uncertainties are met with love and affection from the others. Very sweet. Now the characters: - Kazu is the male mc. Unlike almost every other AS protagonist, he actually talks to the people around him. He shares his plights, offers solutions, and genuinely loves the other two. I like him. - Naomi is the female mc. She's sweet and a bit perverted. She wasn't that deep of a character, but I like her well enough. - Kou is the best friend. He was a bit rapey at the start so I wasn't sure about the guy, but he does genuinely love the other two. I didn't like that they gave him a villain monologue out of nowhere (I will steal her away!!!! type shit) but I choose to interpret that as him trying to dissuade Kazu. Overall, great game. Art and voice acting are good like all AS games.

Overall vote: 8.5 Honestly in all the AS games that I've read up to date ... none had me invested in the main cast trio (MC, FeMC, Bull) more than this one ... This was a really great game from AS imo. But let's get the elephant out of the room first. You gotta throw common sense out of the window just a little bit before going into this one (I'm gonna elaborate on this point more later). I kinda really wanted to rank this one as the peak of AS games that I've read (so far they are Marina 2, Yuuki Rin 2, Hina Kawabuchi) but the wackiness does make me rank it just a step lower than them, and at the same rank as Misato Yukana (since that game too really just only had one single issue) But let's go bit by bit as usual (i will put the important bits behind spoiler but it's preferrable if you complete the game first before reading) • Naomi is like Top 5 sexiest heroines of AS to me. - Her art is divine - Her sex scenes are super hot, usually sex scene without penetration (there are quite some here) are a thumbs down normally but even those were so sexy that to me they were a thumbs up instead! - Her CGs were superb, like the CGs here in this game, even considering the variety might also be Top 5 (or even Top 3) from AS - Her personality also great, although the only downside might be that she's a little too passive here in the events of the game • The 3 main cast, personally (if you cast aside the wackiness) were written beautifully. Their dinamic makes you fully invested in their story, fully care about what will happen to them. Personally I think that 3 childhood friends love triangle might be one of my favorites NTR gimmicks, if done correctly, and in here is certainly was done as close as possible to perfection • Personally I think this one REALLY would have been so much greater (not that isn't it already at its current state) if it had a female POV which it sadly lacks ... • about the "secret revelation" Spoiler honestly it was predictable, however they did build it up pretty well all things considered. However the cashout wasn't that good too sadly. Ever since the reveal the writing did go a bit downhill, but i bet it's cause the writer was as usual forced to rush things to meet the deadline sadly ... • about the endings Spoiler best one was the threesome ending, since it's the best one written and kinda the one fits well the most. the abrupt end kinda sweeps under the rug the issue. and the full loser cuck one is both depressing, the most wacky one and leaves a sore taste in your mouth. • finally let's talk about the "wackiness" Spoiler seriously where to start ... this whole thing comes way before the reveal of what the MC trauma was ... and i don't know you but i don't care how close this trio was, even if you were BFFL you don't just not do anything while your friend sexually haresses your wife! Even if you couldn't prevent the first time but not confront him later on and allowing it to keep happening ... Later we did know why ... and on it came up with 2 explainations for it and both weren't really satisfactory: - threesome ending that he wanted the 3 of them to always stay together was STILL wacky regardless ... - the bad ending that he wanted the 2 of them together ... how much of a cringey loser of a cuck can you be?? most people would rate this way lower due to this, however like I said again and again ... in japanese media sometimes you gotta accept / compromise one or two wacky things (especially in NTR games)

This was the weirdest cuckold experience I've seen in a game. The game feels more like a strange sexual psychotherapy experiment where your best friend tries to make you jealous of him playing with your wife so you'll essentially "man up" and take care of her yourself. You can, of course, choose not to do that and go full cuckold. The strangest thing for me throughout this entire game was how little autonomy the wife had. Like she makes basically no choices and essentially just goes along with whatever the dominant person is saying. Maybe that's a culture thing coming out in the game, idk. But it felt super weird to me. All in all, maybe 2 hours of content. No animations. Wife art is pretty good. Penis art is very bland.
