This is a nice little gem of a game. Its short enough that it doesn't wear out its welcome, and fun enough that you can easily play it without the porn content. Gameplay: Its a relatively straight forwards rpg. You only have 2 active members at a time (your character and one you choose from your active party). Each party member has 2 unique skills (they can be active or passive) and gains a third skill when their relationship is maxed (winning combats with them is the primary method of gaining it). The other party members instead provide passive boosts thanks to their passive skills (usually relationship ones). Leveling doesn't occur (mostly, combat does give you xp for your equipment skill which is needed to equip better gear) . Instead, you need to invest currency in the tome of greed to boost stats of characters you like. This actually works surprisingly well as you get 100% of any currency you invested back when you lower stats. Your main source of stats will be equipment you can buy, or build via crafting and accessories (you can't craft these). Enemies and crafting ingredients don't respawn until you rest in a bed to advance time. Also be aware that subaction button for lock picking minigame is C and left shift (the game doesn't tell you this) The penalty for death is pretty minor most of the time. Your corpse is dragged back to a church and you lose a percentage of your current money (money invested in the tome remains safe). You can also do the same by bringing adventurer corpses to the church for a finders fee. As for recruiting members, you are a monster tamer, so you recruit the monster girls (magical beings) via capturing them in battle and choosing to have them join you. There are also side quests where once you complete them, you have an option of capturing the girl automatically, but if you leave them instead, they will show up in the world as an NPC (doesn't really give benefits most of the time, but still a nice touch). You later gain the ability to capture nonmagical girls as well if they have a warrant for their arrest (IE attacking you in the field). There are also some NPCs that will only join when you complete their quest. Story: Surprisingly optimistic in tone and a callback to high adventures. You are a monstergirl tamer bound by a magical contract on a ship to Treasure Island. You are surprised by a witch named Alessa who is a stowaway heading to the island to find the treasure herself and quickly panicks that she will be put into slavery as well. So you work with her to escape, find a way to free yourself from the contract and find the hidden treasure of Treasure island. To do this, you will need to enlist the aid of monster girls (magical beings) since both you and Alessa would get beaten up by a seagul without spending alot of money in the tome of greed. Characters: Like many games with a large cast, the writing for them is uneven. There are a handful of main heroines that get more dialogue and screen time, but most of the monster girls will only get some statements outside of their quests or talking to them at the base (though in a nice touch their dialogue changes when your relationship gets good enough). They also have fun with NG+ dialogue as characters regularly break the forth wall. Sexual content: Probably the weakest part of the game, and 100% optional. No scenes that you do not intentionally start. Most characters are limited to 4 scenes. Sex, and some kind of service act and a rape version of them. For those of you preferring to avoid harder subject matter, you can unlock a training room where you engage in some rough roleplay instead with max relationship girls (rape scenes, but its made clear beforehand its consensual). While girls may reference a chance of getting pregnant, there is 0 pregnancies in the game. Conclusion: The game is probably only a 4 star due to a lack of polish (like no monster girl compendium and not mentioning the left shift for the lock picking game), but I gave it 5 as it was one of the few rpgs I have played in a long time where I actually enjoyed it enough to complete the game and could look back on it fondly. The Dev clearly put effort into it with the amount of the optional dialogue, side quests and the mosnter girls showing up as NPCs should you not capture them in a sidequest (giving more of a living world feeling). Remove a star if you are more focused on porn then gameplay as well as a second star if the artsyle gets on your nerves.
This is how a RPG shoud feel. Easy to understand, grinding is not too much, you choise MATTER. And Cute Girls as a bonus. A few games active make me buy it from Steam (espacily with my countrys rules about NSFW) but here? The patch for it is just a bonus. I hope for another game from the same DEV.
If this game had more actual romance then it would be one of the best things on this entire site. There are a few cute scenes with the first party member, but overall the sex scenes are just you raising a relationship number by fighting enemies and then kind of awkwardly jumping in, with a lot of the women making it hard to tell if they are even enjoying it, but the story and gameplay are both great and the art style is insanely charming. Has much more content than I expected too! There's even a lil' secret towards the end if you pay attention
What a charming game, the world it present is both ruthless and kind. I really like the game, both mechanically and tone. The game mechanic is a grind but also reward player for exploring and interacting with the world. Each stat is important, literally since each mechanic utilize that in-game. Investing for extra stat isn't permanent and can withdrawn anytime, an amazing mechanic that let player customize his own build Quest is creative and has unique interjection from your companion, sometime range to small talk or outright gave away the puzzle. Having each result to be shown in the game really show how your decision impact it in personal level. And lastly I have to give props to the story, You play as monster tamer that enslave monster, but the twist is you're also enslaved by contract. That meant player never really have a choice, but playing the game you'll know that is far from the truth, weather by pity or investment, Player Character forge bonds and shape his own experience through out the journey. There is some mechanic that could been iron out though, for example: Gathering resource didn't have indication that it hit max capacity or party UI is a bit hard to navigated. But overall a really polished RPG and I hope you're reading this also have fun experience it Spoiler: Second Playthrough The game can be very meta with the quest interjection on secondary playthorugh, especially with Alice as partner turn the story tone to be much more comedic than serious. But for some reason in my tired brain, I see this as horrifying. Alissa is no longer an innocent girl that want to make friend but rather a Mad Mage with 200 year of longing. She's willing to to bend and reshape the world with you as the protagonist, while acting as the main heroine telling you what you should and shouldn't do. I know this isn't what intended, so i'll just put it here as food for thought
Scene review: There are some nice images, but you knew that already from the screenshots. Every scene consists of basically just one image, with 2 minor variations of that image for climax. There are a few generic dialogue lines in the middle (it's possible that all girls randomly pick from the same pool of lines, but I wasn't paying that much attention). There are scenes with a few dozen different girls. Each girl typically has 1 piv scene and other scene (hj, bj or such). For each of those, you can pick between consensual or not, which changes some of the dialogue and sometimes changes the facial expression. There are a bunch of human girls (decent). There are also lots of monster girls: some half-human half-whatever (snake, fish, bird), a slime girl, plant girl, etc. This sounds better in theory than it does in practice - it looks awkward to do piv when their bottom half is a snake or to get a hj when they've got wings instead of arms. I saw someone mentioning that there are some animated scenes, but from checking 2 dozen or so, I haven't found any.
Fun RPG. A bit difficult to get your head around initially but its a couple hours of gaming/grinding fun. Its a go from dungeon to dungeon RPG. Instead of gaining exp to gain stats like ATK or DEF. You gain EXP in skills like smithing and alchemy and you have to invest money in your stats. At any point you can take money out of your stats too. In order to buy better gear.
Simple but well-polished little rpg that's actually bigger than I was expecting. Everything about the game is well executed at the very least. Lots of girls to capture/recruit and diversity among them in sex acts and what they say, though most girls are limited to only 2 acts being 'foreplay' and 'vaginal' with the option of making it forced which just changes the expression and dialogue. Surprisingly varied quests with mini stories and choices that feel impactful. Tip: Don't capture girls involved in any quests you do even when given the option. You'll miss out on them reappearing elsewhere in the world doing their own interesting thing whether it's amusing hijinks or even a new merchant, and you don't miss out on their scenes since you can just catch an identical girl in random battles with the same scenes.
The dialogues may feel a bit strange, definitely this is not how many would speak, outside this oddity, the story is fine, wouldn´t say it´s a masterpiece. The exploring I found kinda fun, the monster girls have all various abilities and the stat system can be abused to cycle between these at need, making the difficulty pretty easy for at least half of the game. I think it took me around 4 sessions to beat the game, so it is not that long either despite the rpg grind. The sex system is something I disliked from the author but I guess its realistic, the art I liked it. If you like doing missions for some reason, there is a ton of secondary missions with variable outcomes depending on how you choose to act.
A little gem in the RPG games on this site. The first rpg i wanted to finish in months. It's not super-epic or anything, but it's a little fun and sweet story. Also, the H-part in easy, free in every part of the quest, and sweet. A little issue with crafting parts, but nothing really frustrating.
tl;dr : Fine game, sex is an afterthought It's a nice rpg where you collect monstergirls to fight for you. I only played with good karma (no rape or slave trading). The story is quite nice, nothing outstanding but still enjoyable. The rpg part is good, but it's quite easy to nullify the opponent's attacks with good stats/equipment and the same for the other way around. If you play defensive, you can find yourself in fights where neither side is able to do much damage. I like the art style. It's obviously quite simple but it has its charm. Won't be for everyone for the sex scenes though... And speaking of sex scenes, that's the bad part of the game. They are decent enough on their own (again, mileage may vary with the art style), but they are completely out of the gameplay. You can have rapey sex with captured monstergirls (the scenes are quite tame, justified in lore) or if you add them to your party and improve their affinity, you can have a more consensual relationship. But the only way to have anything kinky happen is to interact with captured girls or go to a bed with a companion. I haven't found any scene during gameplay (might have missed them by keeping a good karma, but I doubt it). They feel added as an afterthought or in a way where they could easily be removed to make a non-H game.
