The Dark Lord has been defeated by the hero and his party. Unfortunately for them, it was discovered that the Dark Lord had hidden a portion of his power, so that someone might find it, and use it to finish what he had started. You are a representative sent by the king to observe and aid the hero's party in their quest to find this hidden power. However, you might have the chance to be something greater. In Rise of Corruption, you are the villain, and will have the chance to corrupt many characters, and eventually, the world. While there is combat, that is not the focus of the game. Instead, the focus is on slowly corrupting the characters and the world, and observing the changes that occur through each step until you have fully corrupted them.

Haven't played all of v0.3.12 to completion yet but I'm already 49 hours clocked in the save and been mostly impressed the whole way. For reference this is my first ever run through this game and I'm at the point where I've just start dealing with the Elves. While the Koikatsu part is relatively weak and something I tend to actively avoid due to them usually having little content, the writing on this is certainly a welcome surprise. Bogthos is actual peak content, which is funny to say because he's a skeleton and not part of the growing harem. I've been looking for total corruption type games like this with story to them and this one pretty much fits the bill pretty closely, and anyone else looking for that kind of genre this one will sate that want nicely. Sure it takes a long time to go through everything especially if you're not rushing anything and run around like a headless chicken half the time, but it doesn't really harm the enjoyment much. The quests could probably use a little work especially when it comes to figuring out what to do next after you've completed most of the currently available quests at that time in question, since you'll have periods of not knowing what to do next because another quest hasn't popped up yet and the conditions to trigger them aren't too clear.

Surprisingly good game. Surprising because the weak scenes with base koikatsu animations really dont give the best first impressions from the screenshots and the intro. However if you can overlook the subpar H-scenes, there is a competent story with interesting characters here. While the story isnt some GRRM masterpiece, the author clearly knows what they are doing, pacing is great and the story does a great job of handling suspense and keep you hooked. It's not easy to take an extremely overused setting like the Hero vs the Dark Lord concept and expand upon it this well. The story is consistently good. The gameplay, while being cookie cutter rpgm, isnt necessarily tedious either. There is a clear lack of a proper fast travel, which makes traversing the map kind of a slog at times, but nothing that makes the game unplayable. Combat isnt the focus of the game, but there are encounters, nothing hard though. The corruption is fine. As a corruption connoseur, it's hard to find a truly perfect corruption game, and this one isnt perfect either. Pros are that each character has a distinct personality, with distinct vulnerabilities the MC exploits to further their corruption. This is a must in my opinion, as I despise the general narrative of "I am the paragon of purity but MC is good at sex so I will ruin my life now" type of content that plagues the internet. Corruption is mental, it's about bringing down the mental barricades a characters has built up by using the vulnerabilities they have. Good corruption is about building loyalty from distrust by abusing the misgivings of the characters. To that extent, this game does that well. However at the same time the corruption does kinda turn into ok I will now let go of everything because the MC is good at sex at later levels of corruption, which I do not enjoy too much. Finally, the H-scenes. They are your run of the mill koikatsu models in default poses. It's boring, it's the weakest part of the game. The biggest reason I can not give this game a 5 star rating. If this game ever gets finished (regular updates so far which is good), the story and the world deserves a remake with proper H-scenes.

This is actually a good game. The writing is pretty well done. The corruption mechanics are pretty fun. The animations of sex scenes still need some work. But what's rare I actually do enjoy to play the game for the story. Well done protagonist, and interesting antagonists. (Some of them, there is a lot of incompetence from their side, but it fits the story) Oh and we can cuck the hero(one of antagonist). We have reversed NTR theme here, which I enjoy very much.

By far the best game with this concept flushed out to such a large scale degree. I love the scope of this game and hits a lot of great high notes. Biggest fault I have is not knowing what to do next without consulting the mirror. Proper updates to the quest log would go along way, but are not super necessary. Also a bit better on the fast travel system would also be amazing QOL Other than the lack of VA, everything else done is really solid in comparison to other games in this genre. The combat and some scenes can be a bit repetitive but given the scope of the game I am personally unbothered by it. Easily the best of the best of the games I have played so far. AAA devs could learn a thing or two from this project. Extremely excited for more!

So far I'm really liking this game the story is good and there's even background lore to find out along with branching paths in how you corrupt people and how you treat those you conquer. My two main problems with this game aside from the usual WIP bugs and typos was the fact that a lot of the scenes were the same thing with just different characters being subbed in and the worst thing I hope gets changed later on is the fact that the dev gives new outfits at level 3-4 but it's immediately gone when you fully corrupt them as everyone becomes a succubus with pretty much the same outfit. The player is given a spell that allows you to change appearance of your followers back to before they were corrupted so I hope later in development I'm given the ability to change them back to other appearances cause I kind of prefer some of their original appearances like Yukako and Ayumi.

I am the greatest hero Romanos. And this is the best game on a citadel. The Divines chose me... chose ME to play and finish this game! This is going to be so easy. It's just another pointless click and fuck rpg, made on shitty RPG Maker. Wait, what the fuck? How many locations are in this game? I can have animated sex with multiple girls, I can just... talk with them, and they react to the recent events. My decisions affect cities and lives of people. This shit is immersive. I can even... choose the humiliation for my NPC alter-ego here. Well, this part is fucked up, but... No, you can't be serious. You can't be winning! I spent a week in here, the content still is not ending! The plot is appealing. The world design is interesting. But this is impossible! You can't do stuff like that in a fucking RPG Maker! No! I refuse to believe! No!!! This game is worth playing, 10/10. You can get the idea of what's going on here in the first 15 minutes, and if you dislike it, no time has lost. But if you play more, it expands enormously and unexpectedly. I am not sure if I can call it a review. But I do recommend it. There's no NTR for MC. It'd be extra cool to have more lines of dialogues with girls in different locations, like meeting room, etc. I just liked the broken girls pretty much, and wished for more possible "side" interactions. p.s. there are complains about similar looks of the girls, on them I have to disagree. Hikari was a pleasant surprise!

The story is fairly engaging for a porn game, with unique characters, and good sidequests. The best part of the game is the slow corruption and degradation of the heroines. One downside is that after the girls are corrupted, they all look way to similar to each other. They all have bright hair, generic anime succubus outfits, with demonic wings and horns. Their personalities also blend together. The only one that stands out was the princess, mostly because you can encourage a rivalry between her and her mother. The best thing about the game is that it does feel like my choices matter, and that there are unique events that happen because of my choices. The best example is what to do with the hero. Do you just surrender him to the demon queen or corrupt him before doing so? The relationship between the queen and her daughter are another example. Overall, I would say this game should be 4 stars; however, the developer has been doing a good job releasing consistent updates with plenty of content, which bumps up my review of it.

Don't play this game for the combat. It's not designed to be a super fun jRPG to play, there's a bit of grinding that can be annoying but it's not killer. Can cheat if you so choose to.

Review for v0.3.1 Rise of Corruption is a game where you take the mantle of a dead Dark Lord, and in the course of attaining your goal of world conquest corrupt several women into becoming eager and willing members of your harem. If you're looking for in-depth scenes with a variety of women where you get insight into the gradual break down of their mental resistance through your powers of corruption and pleasure, this will be right up your alley. If you are utterly uninterested in that kind of psychoanalysis served alongside your art of naked women, then this may not be the game for you. The game's development is still in progress, and appears to be about 30% done at the moment. The developer is very communicative and posts regular status updates, and the game itself gets updated about once every 4-6 weeks on average. The main focus of the game is of course, corruption. Each woman you capture has 4-5 stages (depending on how you define "stage") where you use your power of corruption to gradually convert them from steadfast enemies to devoted slaves who view nothing better in life than serving your every whim. You get to see them struggle with initially unwanted feelings of lust, pleasure, and loyalty to the MC, until they eventually become eager to serve you. Once they give in completely, your power of corruption lets you irreversibly transform them into loyal succubus slaves (with more ideal body proportions than they originally had) who are incapable of even thinking disloyal thoughts. Mind break is not really a thing in this game, at least not in any permanent form, instead corruption is more of a supernatural form of forceful persuasion. Most of the harem end up having similar personalities to what they had before you corrupted them, except that serving you is their ultimate goal in everything they do; their personalities mostly shine through in what they interpret as the best way to serve you. The art of the game is decent (for Koikatsu) but nothing special. This may change in the future as the Developer has said they are looking into a better art solution that will also increase the variety of scenes. The animations can be hit or miss, with earlier ones in particular sometimes being kinda bad, but the still picture art tends to always be good and in my opinion is generally superior to the animation due to the greater expressiveness shown by the characters in them. Gameplay is RPGMaker and all that entails. Early game can unfortunately be quite a slog, particularly before you properly attain your first harem member, but pacing beyond that is notably better. It is possible to skip most of the actual gameplay if you have no interest in it provided you are a patreon/subscribestar supporter of the appropriate tier, but I view that as a waste seeing as the plot of the game is actually pretty decent. Combat is fairly simplistic and you can mostly win by facerolling after you become the Dark Lord proper, with only one exception so far. Combat is apparently going to get a rework at some point, so that may improve to be a little more fun eventually. The plot of the game and particularly the world-building are actually fairly detailed with meaningful choices sprinkled throughout. While there are very few "fail choices" (outside some extremely obvious ones early on), and you will be able to reach the end pretty much no matter what, several choices you can make have fairly interesting consequences and change certain aspects of characters and/or the world. The history of the world is fairly lengthy, with many events having taken place hundreds or thousands of years ago that still having impacts seen during the time of the game. The dev does have a character which can provides the PC with several optional lore dumps, I recommend diving into them. The main character is unquestionably evil, but you are given several options to either embrace your evil nature, or temper it in favor of a more pragmatic approach which cares about good PR and sees the value in having a happy populace to ensure loyalty. I would not be surprised if by the end of the game you have the option of being only barely worse than any of the "good" factions, but there is still plenty of room to be a more traditionally evil Dark Lord if that is your thing. All in all I would probably give this game a 4.5/5, with the main weakness being in the early gameplay and combats, as well as some of the earlier animations, and the fact that it uses Koikatsu (which the developer does make surprisingly good use of, FWIW). I round this up to a 5 because I have yet to find any other game that scratches the corruption/brainwashing itch quite like this one does, and the dev does a great job ensuring the most important part of the game (each character's corruption route) has all the attention it deserves.

Great concepts, decent writing and plot, the girls are ok (except all the corrupted girls wear the same outfits and look super similar except for the hair colors). HOWEVER, the game is simply broken. It is absolutely filled with bugs, often game breaking. The quest log randomly stops working at a certain point and you can't "complete" the quests and it never updates with the new quests and content so you are basically shit out of luck and have to wing it on your own. I've also had bugs where the game just straight up freezes mid dialogue, though the dev helped fix that issue. However, then another game breaking bug happens where you get stuck in event loops. The game simply is a buggy broken mess, maybe it will get fixed when the game gets closer to being finished but right now it's borderline unplayable. Even your saves aren't safe because some of the saves you make don't get saved. If you really want to risk your time trying to play through the game for the decent content, be aware that you will likely become extremely frustrated at the buggy mess.

Review for 2.14 Let me start out by saying that if The Last Sovereign or Noblesse Oblige scratches an itch for you this will as well, though not quite as thoroughly as those two games might. Even still this is definitely worth your time. The game follows the plot of a world where 3 powers are constantly in competition with each other for domination, and one of those powers recently capitulated via death. You are the heir to that power, and will establish your domain as the new Dark Lord. The game focuses heavily on sexual domination and corruption to bring people who would normally rebel against you to your side to enact your vision of the world. The world itself has a decent amount of lore for those interested, and the world building is pretty creative so far. It follows certain fantasy tropes but makes very good use of them to create an interesting and thought provoking experience. Some games suffer from the issue of the LI's (or corrupted bimbos in this case) blending together and being indistinguishable. This game avoids that, with the characters having their own interests, goals, and reasons for joining you that are realistic. Even after their conversion, while they may look similar they do retain their interests and goals, they are just now combined with their new priorities in your service. This is further demonstrated as the game progresses, and the dev has stated he has plans to include new scenes further making the girls stand out from each other and showcase their corrupted personalities to bring even more life to them. The mechanics are pretty straightforward RPGM turn based fights, and the journal is kinda broken at the moment so it helps to pay attention to what's going on. The sex scenes are mostly animated, and it seems like in the past they were going to be static CG's, and most scenes now are short animations, with the rest of the older content being updated in the next patch. All in all I found this to be a very enjoyable experience. The story is compelling, the characters (not just the harem members) are interesting and varied, and there is a variety of choices given to you later on how you want to rule and be seen by the common man making it feel like this burgeoning empire is really yours. This game is certainly worth following and even my miserly self was persuaded to part with some money to support him in his endeavors. So after all this why did I only give it 4 stars? While it scratches a lot of itches like being a pragmatically evil protagonist, it's amateurish in some ways. The motivations and story could be better fleshed out, the animations are 5 second loops, and the loop itself is a little jarring to watch sometimes. Some plot points in the story don't impact as well as they could, and some of the characters are just downright forgettable. I chalk most of these things up to this being the devs first game, and hopefully he will continue to improve and not rest on his laurels. I certainly hope the dev continues to hone his craft, because he shows a lot of promise and I will be happy to upgrade this to 5 stars in the future. While the game is not currently at the level of The Last Sovereign in terms of writing, it surpasses it in other ways. In time, this game could be just as good if not better. P.S. I have no idea if the dev is a man or woman, I'm just assuming male.

Given that there's some focus on that in a game like this, it's a major downside. Beyond that, it has the usualy issues of all RPGM games. Big empty maps and a quest log that is unhelpful more often than not. Meh.

Normally I would write a review as objective as possible so that whoever reads it can more or less have a previous vision of the game. But that would not be suitable for this game. When I saw it and in its description I read "While there is combat, that is not the focus of the game." my first thought was "This will be the typical Ren'py game that is more of a porn gallery with text in between than a game as such, but made in RPGM, which is even worse." In short, I did not have good expectations of the game. Although in a certain sense my prejudice is true... I was also surprised by how everything develops, because it gives me the air of a management and military strategy game. Conquering cities and towns, managing them to maintain a certain level of submission and happiness and thus avoid rebellions, fighting against monster leaders to add their races to your army, decisions that have importance in the development of the story. Everything I mentioned is in the game... but as something basic and undeveloped, with more focus on the story and the porn content. I don't know what path the developer will take to advance the game, but intentionally or accidentally he laid a good foundation for a very fun strategy game. If he goes that route this will be another one of those games that is fun on its own, but also has porn content. And if he doesn't and keeps the game simple so that the central focus is the porn, that's fine too, it's his vision and his project in the end.

I'm not a fan of Koikatsu, I think their faces are really weird, although I found the girls in this game very cute, I like girls with long, colorful hair, succubus, with horns, but Koikatsu's rendering is below average, very simple, and with standard animations, or sometimes no animation at all in the scene, with repetitive dialogues during sex scenes, "aah yes the master's dick, I have to make the master cum, aaah" something like that and during several and several lines of dialogue, But one of the things that discouraged me the most and made me skip most or almost all of the sex scenes is the fact that the MC is invisible during the sex scene, and there is only the MC's dick floating in the scene as if it were a flying dildo... What if the MC wants to kiss a girl? What if he wants to grab her breasts and suck them? What if he wants to do other KINK... But since the only thing that exists of the MC is the flying dildo... then it will always be standard sex... Either the girl sucks the MC, or he sticks it in the girl and that's it, the scene is over... without even having anything special... there is no romance... all the girls have their own personality and are different from each other before being corrupted, and different reasons to fight, different motivations... but after being corrupted... all the girls are a CTRL + C and CTRL + V from each other, they are all like "aah it's your duty to worship the master's dick, and make him feel good" and they don't have their own dialogues... there is no romance... there is no motivation... there is no attachment for the player to get attached to the characters and care about them... the game simply doesn't give you a reason for that... the MC is too generic for that and the girls are too lifeless for that. The best thing about the game is the girls' looks and the medieval theme, with succubus and demons ... but even so... for those like me who aren't fans of Koikatsu... the game should make up for it more in other aspects... like depth in the characters or story... but it fails in that... and it's hard to find reasons to continue the gameplay… and when the buggy missions start that the player completes but never disappear from the mission list... or missions that the game barely gives you a hint of where to start or look for... or tedious fights with no reason to fight... or incentives to make the player want to fight... for example... in RPGs, whenever the player is going to fight someone or a boss, he fights thinking about the reward later... or gaining the feelings of a character (like saving a princess and winning her love), or a cool weapon... or a new power... but here... nothing but XP. and it didn't take long to get to the end of the content and the character himself in the game asking the player for a patreon... very anticlimactic... I think it's a game with potential... but made without care or affection... if you're going to play for the sex scenes, I recommend skipping this game... but if you're going to play to pass the time and for the story... maybe it's worth it... without expecting much... the game will make you invest a lot of your time... and most of it walking around the map from one side to the other... without motivation.
