About Shades of the Past
Shades of the Past is a Ren'Py kinetic novel from Booty Call Studios, rendered in animated 3DCG. You play a young man returning home for the summer after six years in an orphanage, only to find family life far from normal. His mother keeps vanishing and seems to reject him, while his workmate Yuko pulls him toward the old mystery of his father’s disappearance. After police left the case unresolved, the two try to uncover the truth over a 21-day summer, alongside a cast of women and smaller side stories. The game includes futa/trans and milf themes.
The current v0.6 build is still in development. It adds Day 10 and Day 11, continuing the earlier updates that introduced Days 3 through 9. Earlier changes also adjusted the mother’s dialogue and character arc so she is no longer a prostitute, added renaming for the mother, aunt, and sister, improved English and Spanish text, and introduced music, sound effects, and ambient audio. Android textbox placement was fixed, along with spelling, grammar, and dialog-box opacity visibility issues. The game runs on Windows, Linux, Mac, and Android, in English and Spanish, uncensored.
Developer's description
After six years locked up in an orphanage and completely isolated from your family, the summer of your 18th birthday arrives and it's time to return home. Things are not as you would have expected and the situation at home is not ideal. The reality is very different from what you remember, not only will you have to deal with finding out why your mother disappears every day and acts as if she disowns you. Without looking for it, you will find yourself involved with Yuko, your workmate, in the very thing that brought you to the orphanage, your father's disappearance. Since the police investigation turned out to be inconclusive and with Yuko's help you will try to discover the truth. During the mc's first summer at liberty, you will be the protagonist of a 21-day journey in which you will not only discover the darkest secrets of your family, but you will also have to rethink everything you thought you knew. And of course, all this accompanied by a beautiful cast of women with small sub-plots to help you play single-handedly.
