Succession

The models are some of the best I've ever seen, and it's rare to see so many good-looking female characters in one game. This release is just a teaser, but the story potential looks pretty high. I like what I've seen so far. When Episode 1 is released, I'll review it again.

VERSION: Demo SUMMARY: Not a bad start, but will need some polish, too little here to review accurately. RATINGS: (out of 5): Models: 5 Animations: 2 General Visuals: 5 Characters: 4 Story: 3 Writing: 4 Pacing: 4 Content (amount): 3 UI & Sounds: 3 Fetish & kinks: 0 Average: 33 of 50 possible points giving a 66% rating i.e. 3-4 stars. PROS: Models are really nice looking, obviously the artists are doing a good job and personally have no issue with AI generated or assisted renders, as long as done well. If it speeds up development time all the better. MC model also looks decent enough, has some scruff on the face even if there is not a lick of hair on his body, its more than I can say for many other games who love to use a boy toy for MC. General renders are good also, world looks good, fleshed out, detailed. Writing is good, reads well and is structured well, not too much text or useless information so far. Pacing is good, you get some sex scenes off the bat which is good and its not "forced" there is good context for it and its natural. CONS: The music in this has lyrics which is more distraction and benefit. I like music in the games, all sounds really, for immersion its great and lewd sounds are often skipped which is bad. Only applies to initial intro music it seems. No lewd sounds or ambient sounds. UI needs opacity setting for the dialogue box. Some inconsistent renders, Kitty in dream/memory scene, sex scene with Kitty and MC body hair present, not before, hair colour different. Animations are not fluid, they are more like stills, slides, renders that play in sequence like a presentation. Its not horrible, there are much worse out there, but its not smooth animations and there are no "physics" e.g. bouncing boobs, ass etc. pity considering Missing images after MC climbs in the car, needs to be double checked in future releases. Short, not much content to review properly. FINAL THOUGHTS & SUGGESTIONS: My major gripe with the music here is that it has lyrics, I personally can't stand lyrics in text based games as I am reading and don't like vocals distracting that. I usually just disable it then. I recommend use music without vocals please. Initial scenes of Kitty in the memory scenes make her look different for me, her features look almost more eastern, Asian, oriental if you like as to the scene with her in the MCs bedroom she has more African American features, not sure if this is intentional or a result of the foggy memory setting, maybe its something to look into? Per comment about the inconsistency of characters and some renders. I will say this, while I think both the "versions" of Kitty, the dream/memory scene one are good, I prefer the more oriental look and as for the MC, the more masculine and dark hair one is also my personal preference. Though these have no bearing save for preference, the issue is the consistency throughout. Initial choice, where you decide to have sex with Kitty or not, not sure if its a no brainier, but normally people opt for sex scenes in adult games, because...well its an adult VN and we pervs are here for a reason non? So why bother asking? Does choosing not to have an effect? Lock you out Kitty content, does being late for a job hunt make a difference to the game ending? I am not a big fan of pointless choices in games, almost like those where you get the one button and only that one button to push, why have it? Story seems pretty much like some of the other games here, usually a parental figure dies, MC inherits a lot of money and or there are conditions placed on the MC to get it. So nothing earth shattering new, but then I guess what is today. FYI, the solicitor looks like Sean Connery in one scene and I could almost see Mads Mikkelsen in the uncles face, guess that is the thing about AI generated faces... MC proportions are off, in at least the scene where he is introduced to the family, the jacket he wears looks like its padded with newspaper and like the is some rugby/NFL player thats all geared up, its waaaay too big, may want to look into that ... Intro and outro if you can call it that of the demo both request for patreons, while I understand the need, I do feel the last request felt cheeky in the way it abruptly ended the demo, maybe im just being a tad sensitive, but it was my immediate feeling. I can assume the woman are all LIs to the MC, hopefully we can expect some harem style game, cuckold the husband, steal off the wife, knock up woman and all those juicy kind of kinks, after all, our MC is from a rough life, introducing the gentry folks to that could be fun. There is big potential here. Either way, solid start, decent looking models and story that could be fairly interesting. Based on this demo, I do feel that this game will be drawn out and that the player should not expect any revelations or significant progress in terms of story with each update, this feels like a game they will be intended as a honey pot to lure people in and keep them vested (hopefully with decent content) Good luck developer, I may update my review later when there is more content.
