Some people didn't like it, but I enjoyed the art style of the CGs. However, this game suffers from the same problems as other games here: the supposed sandbox and the development of relationships between characters (or corruption, as you prefer to call it). It's not a sandbox at its core. Basically, you need to use a guide to access scenes, completely removing the player's freedom to choose which route they want to take. And the corruption is weak/fast/whatever. There's not much more to say. Games similar to this one in terms of "sandbox" and "corruption" or "development" are plentiful.

I have a bit of a selfish relationship with porn games; usually they're done as soon as I'm done. That is to say, porn games have a lifespan of 15 minutes. Rarely, a game will manage to survive for an hour or so until it's finished; maybe even get an extra rub along the way, a sign of pride to any developer. Unheard of me is having a multiple, dozens of hours game finished fully. But for some cursed reason, this piece of shit, buggy, rushed, unfinished mess of a game actually got my attention hostage for an entire week. It was not worth the manic episode. The art is a mixed bag. Most CGs are excellent, and the unique artstyle actually pulls it's weight; but the animation is terrible. Not even cheap L2D, but actually animated pieces, all done from a range between absolute dreadful to mediocre; a clear consequence of a simply too ambitious scope for production. This will be a common trend. Story wise, this game is three games worth of story. Incest with Mother and Sister is enough to be their own game; the other six heroines are enough for another (Lifeguard is clearly not on the same level as the rest); and the sexworld plot (you know, the selling point) alongside the lot of simple, incoherent, gratuitous sex scenes should be their own game too. And you may think "but lots of content!" but again, game doesn't know it's place. The main story is stupid, rushed and wasted; the side stories have abrupt finales and are extremely self contained; and both incest and the main plot device are wasted in a game that doesn't know what it wants. And the dialogue, Lord. It goes *forever*. The writer clearly doesn't know how to hold a fucking thought. It's also a bit weird how often the game teases having a cucking fetish? Mom fucks your dad and then chastises you after an argument; your Best Friend is a notorious whore who the game makes sure you know is a loose woman, who also is actively fucking your Teacher and your Sister (two other love interests) independently of how far you're in her route; Teacher makes sure to tell you how hard she wants to bang a Chad meme stand in until you beat him up; and you can find basically every main heroine but Comic Seller in the beach glory hole. AND THEN the Comic Seller's route has you cucking your best bro-friend for her. And I gotta mention the music too; because the game actually says "seven original tracks" as a *selling point*. The same article advertises the game lasts *20 hours*. I hope you LOVE that town bgm baby because you're gonna have to jerk off to it *a lot*. And one of the cooler tracks? The office bgm? Yeah you have that for fifteen minutes hehe. The game has no sfx, no voice acting, nothing. Nothing but the happy go lucky, cheerful town bgm sticking out like a sore thumb while you fuck your sister who's also going down on your mom. Yay! Gameplay, I feel, is the high point. This is basically a VN with a resource management side, and I feel that's actually really fun and the reason it got me so hooked up. Main issue, though? As the rest of the game, it *really* overstays it's welcome. Mother route demands *lots* of money, Teacher route straight up demands you to play gacha once a day to max out *two* stats, and Sister route has a side concurrency you have once a day attempts to try and luck your way into AND is a massive stat dump. What is fun at first drags down the game for *hours*. But I have to admit some things *have* merit. Most of the side stories are thought through and the characters feel *kinda* alive. I feel that with some polish Mother, Sister, Teacher, Director and Comic Seller could be cute little spin off games. I actually found myself actually looking forward to keep advancing their stories. But I also found myself disappointed with how each and every story ended up in an abrupt, anticlimactic ending (except arguably Teacher). The designs however are also really pretty, and the personalities are varied enough someone has to do it for you. This game stayed 7 years in Dev Hell and it *shouldn't* have come out. It lacks cohesion, direction, and quality. The sex scenes are mediocre and don't justify the amount of time the game demands; the story is aimless and rushed, even when it had a really good starting point; and it's clearly *unfinished*. There's literal unfinished assets around, and you have entries in the gallery for girls you can't fuck (ONE OF THEM I WAS ACTUALLY REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO, BY THE WAY). Unlock the gallery with cheats, jerk off to the one you find the cutest a few times, and really don't look back. I experienced this game to the fullest extent and I only have my regrets and some cum-stained pants to show for it. Luna is absolutely best girl, though. Could star her own game. For 8 years in development I thought I was about to receive an obscene amount of content but not only did I not receive that, I was met with basically the same amount of content I was met with a few years ago during it's development. But in all honesty this game has always been continuously full of bugs for me so I wasn't to surprised. Lastly, this game should have a NTR tag cause everyone in this game is a slut. The twin sister works at a gloryhole, your landlady fucks her husband if you don't give her attention for one night, and the girl with red sleeves admits to being a slut in a sense( in the first scene with her she tells you she hasn't had had cock like that in a long time). The story is okay I guess it was to buggy for me to tell. But hey at least the dev finished the game so I had to give them a star for that cause god knows they could've just not finished and left to start their new game. I've seen some people's favorite games just get abandoned like nothing so I had to give them props. I don't know how to feel about this game, but it's definitely not good. There are some events in the story that felt unfinished or didn't have that much of a consequence on how it played out, ie the blackmail/forced drug run during the teacher's arc and the actions of the headmistress during her arc, I felt like the choices didn't even matter, especially towards the end. With how much stats are presented in the game, with each time you try and raise them have a chance of completely failing and forcing you to try them again on another day, and how big the max limit on each stats are, they didn't play any role in the story at all besides consuming a huge chunk of them for a minor relationship bump that I feel didn't even matter at all, except for a few scenes requiring a certain a certain threshold to be met that can either be bought during the comic girl's arc (Which you automatically get when playing through her arc normally to meet that threshold), or something like the mother's where you gain them from going on dates. And the ending, I see from other reviews, is quite...abrupt. You go to the big bad company to investigate and find clues. The big bad's robot finds you and either takes you or the girl (Can't be arsed to remember most of the staff, it left that little of an impression on me), and no matter what, your next action is to go to one location, a new mcguffin is introduced out of nowhere and 4 characters, one being the asshole dad who you grow to hate immediately, and one is the big bad, sacrifice themselves to destroy the new mcguffin and then, as the game says later, everything continues like nothing ever happens. I do like the sex scenes though, although the world felt more casual towards sex and felt like the actual sex world the game advertises that we didn't explore. TLDR: It feels like nothing you do matters to the story at large and even some side character's stories, and I wished the stats were implemented more, mainly because of how tedious they were to train only for it to matter a little

To sum it up, it's a good game but feel like it was abandoned even though it's marked complete. (I believe the creator moved onto another title) I've been watching this game for years and was really hoping for it to take us deeper into the opposite world or new plot lines. The art style was unique and the gameplay, while pretty standard, was done well... until you've played for a couple hours and start hitting points where you can oviously tell that the plot was cut, endings unpolished, and many buildlings have no point. Effie plot line can repeat for whatever reason, you can have sex with the principal before it even makes sense per her plot line, many characters were introduced that went no where, and the main quest didn't feel satisfying. If this game were to at the very least make the game feel like it's actually reached an end or find better ways to tie it all together, I'd push the rating to at least a 4. But I guess I'll just have to move to the next game with the creator and hope they don't do the same there.

This is a complete mess of a VN. The whole story is not that bad but the execution is absolutely terrible; events fire when they shouldn't, you can lock yourself out with no way to finish certain quests, you can do certain H-scenes before you should be able to, etc. There are quests that you can't get right because the checks are just wrong. The whole script needs a complete overhaul by someone who actually understands what needs to be done because the developer clearly doesn't. The dialogues are so packed with useless information and constantly go to some weird tangents making me think this was either written by a bad AI or someone with severe ADHD. At some points, you click somewhere and get transported to the beach changing rooms for no reason at all and breaking the script. I just wasted several of my hours on this earth i'm never getting back to play v1.1 and i would suggest you don't do the same unless you see something about a fixed script and revised dialogues in the changelog.

To start, this is a tough game to review since I did absolutely love it the first time I played it but due to slow and lackluster updates I began to sour on it. That being said I'm reviewing the "finished" game not an in-dev game, even if its doesn't completely feel finished. I replayed from the beginning to try and have the new player experience. The elephant in the room Lets start with the elephant. This game development was a mess. The game was in dev for 8 years, in that time countless bugs breaking new and existing content, releases using very rough concept art as placeholder, older saves either incompatible or you load pass the update so you wouldn't be able to use it anyways, things set up with without using (there's half of the town that wasn't used and affection stats for several characters with no purpose), the list of issues goes on. The thing is the dev acknowledged this (public post on patreon), doesn't change my review but its something. It seems like there was a massive issue with planning, scope and scale; It sucks but happens, I've never made a game but I know its not an easy task. Either way I wont being supporting the next project financially, then again not like I supported this one. A lot of people on this forum say the dev is a scammer, milked the project, etc. and maybe they are right but I don't know the dev so I'm not going to accuse them of anything like that. It does seem like they are learning their lessons from for their next game not to mention the new game is own a separate patreon so no carry over users but if you are still subbed to A Town Uncovered its time to move on and if you didn't realize that you are still subbed or not reading the patreon post that's on you. Narrative The Concept of the story is really good, starts very basic but the twist is amazing. The twist is a freeuse alternate reality of the town, personally one of my favorite fetishes but it all ends up very dull. You only go to the town once, is short (good while it last) and its ends on a negative note. If this was a horror game that negative note would be fine but this is a porn game, with a well done freeuse fetish this could have been really good, especially with this dev writing; there are so few freeuse games. I'm not saying there couldn't be a twist like the one used but maybe do more with the town, maybe MC visits when he is bored. Also, im aware that its a fetish that many players are against but if its what the dev wants then im all for it, its the dev's game to make (just happens i enjoy the fetish when done right). The ending is probably the worst part. The sequence to get to the end is so dull there aren't even any sex scenes. The problem is its just rushed so the dev finished it opposed to abandon it. There is a very noticeable dip in overall quality towards the end. Side quest and side content are great, the Characters are fun and well written and so horny, I love horny characters, let characters fuck because they want to. That being said some stories are just a bit bland. Similarly to the main quest some of the side quest do feel like they are rushed to the end and not stratifying. Alternatively, the Dev does has fun with group content, and writes it well. The characters aren't just extensions of the MC they have their own personalities and desires resulting in more natural feeling story telling. There are some really fun scenes: like the ara akria scene is great, hitomi club scene, or the hitomi beach scene, this is what I would have loved to see from the freeuse town but it does work well they way it implemented the problem is there simply are not may scenes like this. gameplay So its a sandbox, I actually like sandboxes when they are done will but they rarely are, this game straddles the line. A good sandbox lets the player explore and find stuff, random stuff, like the glory holes scenes beach, bathroom scenes, random people without sidequest willing to fuck or (again) the hitomi beach scene. There just isnt enough of this (reoccuring criticism that comes from scope and scale issues). The lack of random exploration rewards results in me constantly opening the guide to tell me where to go rather then organically discovering stuff (but a scene tracker would be nice to scratch that completionist itch). There is also affection stats and player stats to manage, I cheated so I don't have much to say about them but the game would probably feel better without them. Art Not much to say about the art. I really enjoy it but it did actually have to grow on me, when I first saw it I didn't care for it but I'm grateful I stuck with it. I not sure why I like it so much maybe because it stands out so much. Closing notes I'm giving this 4 stars but its closer to 3.5 stars but that's not an option. Like I said earlier I'm reviewing the final project not the dev process, most of criticisms that I see on the forums (what I outlined in the elephant section) are irrelevant as a result. At the end of the day I did enjoy my replay, I wish there are more games like this. Unfortunately, many people including myself are a bit disappointed because of the development of the game, which review wise, is something that is completely pointless to anyone that did go through it.
