You are a burned out private detective who inherits a house on the coast of New England from your estranged Aunt. You leave your failed business behind and head out to Primrose only to find a lovely but strange town filled with a unique cast of characters. You discover your Aunt was running a charitable safehouse unlike any other. As you learn more about who your Aunt was and who you are, an opportunity to re-open the home stands before you. You will meet a number of beautiful and somewhat odd love interests in the town. Get to know them and make friends with some of the town's citizens. As each mystery unfolds you will find deeper and darker secrets on this fictional peninsula. What will you learn? Who will you fall in love with? And maybe most importantly, how will you handle the responsibility of being the director of Augusta's Home for Wayward Girls. Oh, and try not to get killed. Spoiler One part adult visual novel, one part supernatural horror story, and one part religious philosophical exploration with a splash of comedy, heart and quirkiness. This game is purposefully not set in any specific state to keep the location from feeling familiar as I want it to seem strange, like a town that doesn't really belong anywhere.

This differs from most games or VNs on here. The Dev is clear that there's a lot of writing, but that is great because it is fantastic. The characters' personalities come through very clearly in the dialogue - and they are realistic. Looking forward to the continuation...

I think I have my new favourite game, yes, plenty of sexual tension and some gratuitous nip-slips etc, but a storyline that had me on edge waaaay better than a simple Pr0n game has any right to do, This is one of those "I read the girly magazines for the articles" kind of game. Pics - yeah, good quality. Gameplay - average. Story - had me on the edgeof my seat fot a few hours trying to figure out the who, the what. the why, till I figured to just go with my gut and see where we landed . NICE!!

Man I am such a huge new fan of The Professor I don't even know where to start. I am new to AVNs as of November and had no clue this world of creativity even existed, and I've already seen and experienced so much of it in the short time. But holy hell this author's writing has me fucking floored. My intro to his style and writing was the can't-look-away gruesome car crash that is Love & Jealousy and it's the story I check this forum daily for updates on... not BAD, not PC, not Eternum, not SoA or MNG, or any other game. I couldn't care less when the release dates are for all of the top releases... and here he goes adding this to my must have more list. AHFWG is just top shelf fiction regardless of the medium. I guess I have a type and Professor Amythst is it. Keep pumping this shit straight into my veins sir, you're a legend and then some. I look forward to updates to these stories more than I do shit from the Cosmere.

Not a fan of characters sliding on the screen like sock puppets to stand motionless while involved in a "conversation" with each other, then sliding off again to allow another scene of the same style happen.

This VN is a BIG surprise to me. This VN is clearly aimed at people who like reading a mystery supernatural story. This is in no way a VN with straight up sex. It's mostly still backgrounds with the characters layered on top of them. Every once in a while you come across a VN which should totally be a book or series, because it is intriguing to read. It feels like a cross between one of those walking-simulator games, and a very interesting Twinpeaks / Lovecraftian tv series. I have read maybe an hour or so (I'm at day 3), and I can't wait to see what will happen. I hope the story stays focused, even when eventually there are (presumably) going to be sexual scenes as well. In this case, I think I would have preferred no sexual content because I fear it may detract from the story.

Compelling story and writing. There aren't very many choices for the MC to make, which is fine for this type of story. Insanely good visuals. Would love the animations to be longer, or to have more of them. I binged the whole episode in one sitting. Can't wait for more!

Yeah, people who look for a quick fap will be dissapointed. This is an adult novel! Emphasis on Novel. The visual part is neglected. Words carry this novel, and the story is great. Highly recommended! This is another professor ametyhst story.

This is just an unusually long demo/introduction. The good points are the snappy dialogue, highly differentiated characters, and the basic story idea: someone with a wasted life getting the chance to take care of people. Another good point is that it is rather upbeat compared to the Professor's other stories. Probably good therapy. The weak point is the art. Others have been successful with this format (two stationary characters facing outward against a stationary background). The good point of this approach is that the author can produce material quickly but it a storyboard rather than a movie.

This isn't a visual novel. Its a novel that's been written on a few basic pictures. Visual novels have to be visually pleasing too, not just a story. I understand why the dev has done this, as per the forum he's burned-out, presumably of creating renders and animations rather than writing, given how quickly this came out. I get this but this is not a good solution. Its just one or two lines of text and clicking through the same background 100 times. It would be easier to read as 10 blank pages of a wall of text than this format. The letters for example are far easier to read. Why not use this visual aid, say as a book instead of a letter and get more text on each page to reduce the endless clicking? Alternatively why not find a visual artist to work with instead? There's loads of great looking VN's on here with shit stories. Why not work with one of them to provide some better visuals than this, or better yet get them to do the visuals for On the Mountain Top which has a much better story? This is an okay traditional, gentle suspense, horror story that's reasonably well written but the format created just isn't right here. Its slow burn but the endlessly repeating visual experience with constant clicking, just sends you to sleep. Click, click, click...zzzzzzz Disappointing 3 star story moved down to a 2 for the lack of visuals.

Haven't gotten to any lewd scenes yet but the story is engaging. I find myself getting caught up in the narrative. Excellent storytelling and the plot is mysterious and interesting. If this game had no lewds I think I would still play it. In public, no less!

I already enjoyed this initial release. True to form, Professor Amethyst has written another engaging story. It is very text heavy, which might not be your preference, usually isn’t mine particularly either, but the writing has me hooked on every line, an is accompanied by beautiful sprites, scenic background, atmospheric music and the occasional animation to set the tone. Compared to Professor Amethyst’s other vignette ‘Love & Jealousy’, this story has none of the traumatising emotional turmoil, which makes that story so intriguing; instead this is a bit of a slow burn, using this initial release to world build and show the potential of various routes you can take, while still keeping an optimal pace and mystery to keep you engaged. I am already looking forward to future releases and can’t wait to see what happens next!

It was quite fun to read, some lovely and well written characters even outside the LI main cast, (like the "mute" dude or the restaurant owners that are gay but have good banter and are more than the tipical We gay, got it?) Quite a good variety of LI and even if some have some personality faults or story background problems, its not a overly negative thing. The setting is a lot fluffier and calmer than expected from what is shown to be the author style in some of the other games by the same Dev. It feels more like mistery than horror even with the supernatural involved. The art style is quite unique and has a slight improvement in my opinnion and the videos worked well for a first try by the dev. So far my only negative sides is the MC personality. His flirting is almost straight up like a child pulling the ponytail of his crush, and his reaction to world shatering revelations about the supernatural is just roll with it and question nothing. And that the part 1 is just a long intro for the characters, almost no events happens, just a lot of meetings to know the new cast and theres quite a lot of them. Still, quite a good game novel.

I can't get enough of the Professor's writing. Every time he tells a story I am absolutely captivated. Sure this isn't the typical daz3d VN but where the Professor shines is in his writing. If you're only here for a fap then you're wasting your time. Don't shit on his work because it's not what you're used to. Give it a try, and if you decide you don't like having your emotions played with, then just ignore it.
