Itsuki has his NEST. But what did he gain—and what did he lose—to claim it? With a powerful enemy in Shinonome gone, Itsuki and the gang’s business is thriving. After countless twists and turns, Rave is now a massive success, generating an immense amount of profit and making “NEST” and its operators infamous in the underworld. Spoiler However, with that success comes a creeping unease and the frustration and pure rage of losing something irreplaceable. Right now, neither Itsuki nor his best friend, Tatsuya Yorozuya, cares for the money and status flowing their way. All they can see is their goal: to take the life of Umon-kai leader Goro Teshigawara. For that, Itsuki would not hesitate to throw away his life. Watching his dangerous resolve with growing concern is Rin Akinashi, his business partner and childhood friend. And looming ever closer is the shadow of Mafia syndicate executive, Luca. Life? Or death? Light? Or shadow? Revenge? Or…? The curtain finally raises on this hustler’s waltz as it dances precariously along the boundary between crime and lawfulness—the Criminal Border.

There's stories that stick with you after reading them. It is like that with good books and very rarely it is like that with a good VN. This series was like that for me. It's a raw and sometimes incredibly dark story of growth and loss and coping with a reality that you can't quite shape in the way you need it to be. Just like Amatsutsumi by the same dev, it made me cry. More than once. And just like that game, it manages to land the ending. It's not a happy ending per se, but it is the one the story deserves and needs. The writing is relentless that way. It doesn't follow tropes and the characters aren't good or bad, they just are. The H scenes... well they do belong but I wouldn't say they should be the reason to read this. You need to be here for the story. You won't regret it.

Ok, i literally just finished the franchise right just when i wrote this review but, goddamn, the storywriting is peak.I'm not the type to write review for stuffs but the potential for this one is huge. I'm not gonna lie, the thing that reeled me in to trying this series was the preview H-scenes, but i suppose it might go the same with everyone when they press the download button. This doesn't mean that i complain the H-scenes were bad (no animation of course), but like some people have already said, there are only a few scenes for a few situation that focus on the main girl of the chapter you are playing in Spoiler: SPOILER Hina for the first one, Kotoko for the 2nd, Meryl for the 4th, and Rin for the last which also this one) The main attention of this series is definitely the story; although in my personal opinion, the 2nd part with Kotoko might be the weakest of the 4 (personal rating: 4->3->1->2). I somewhat expected somewhat with the foundation "Purple software" built for this work but the story actually interested me more than i thought. Yes this is a kinetic novel, so some might not like it + there are only a few scenes so it might not worth it if you are looking for a quick wank; but if you have the time to read a good story? then i highly recommend you try your time with this (Estimated time should be around 30 hours or less to finish the whole series) Maybe i will see their older works if i have the time in the future.
