About Crimson Hydrangea

Crimson Hydrangea is an animated 2D dating sim created by Phantom Legume with Ren'Py. It combines romance and horror themes through branching character routes, and the tags indicate playable male, female, and trans protagonists. The presentation uses animated artwork and relationship-focused choices.

The current v3 build, released May 1, 2026, continues development and is available on Windows, Linux, and Mac in English without censorship. The Day 3 update adds about 50k words, bringing Days 1-3 to roughly 85.5k words, estimated at 6-8 hours when exploring all branches and routes. It also adds 60+ new backgrounds, 25+ new illustrations, three new NPCs, new animated backgrounds, over 100 new sprites, four NSFW illustrations, and unique routes for each character. Earlier Day 1+2 updates revised content warnings, fixed typos and programming issues, and gave Marcelo's coworker a sprite.

v3 Day 3 Update Days 1 + 2 had about 35.5k words and Day 3 ended up having 50k words! That gives us a total of about 85.5k words! I believe that translates to about 6-8 hours of gameplay if you explore all of the branches/routes. There are 60+ new backgrounds. (Including alternate versions) There are 25+ new illustrations. (Including alternate versions) 3 new npcs. New animated backgrounds . There are over 100 new sprites ! (Including new npcs) 4 NSFW illustrations. Unique routes for each of the characters. Day 1+2 Updates Updated Content Warnings! Fixed some minor typos and programming fixes. Marcelo's coworker finally has a sprite!
