Minor changes:

*1) Ain rework: This had to be done due to legal concerns. I know the character was popular before, but I wanted to make sure I won't get in trouble where I live, so I made her more mature. I also cannot offer seperate versions for the same reasons. I'm sure you will like the updated character as much if not more. This was the reason for the delayed update
*2) Discord: My mods and me will still work on the discord channels and things may vary, but it's up and running and open for discussions and WIP posts.
*3) Raider scene: Scene is optional, only minimally changed
*4) Figured out that it is possible without putting in much work after all. You guys were also right when you said that an RPG should have a choice there, so I put it back in.

Giving the player more choices:
- added a censorship option
- added a relationship options
Reworked parts of Day 1:
- made Scene 2 and 5 brighter
- made the interaction with the crazy raider girl less extreme
(similar scene like in 0.01 planned for a future update, this was done to not scare off players from the get go.)
- edited the dialogue a bit and added a game over in scene 2
(The elve is a main character. Letting the player continue after killing her is pointless and only adds coding time I could save. The "decayed" event can also be started by buying her free.)
- changed some music tracks
(If you didn't do it before; try playing with music and sound on, it took at least 20% of dev time)
Added Day 2 (End of prologue)
- 6 scenes in total.
(An introduction to the world, different characters and future NSFW scenes.
v0.01 Prologue
Initial Release
TL;DR - There is something for everyone in this game, if you just want a quick fap - you will have fun, if you want an engaging story full of amazing characters, beautiful romance and sexy scenes - you will have a ball of a time too! I have been playing this game for many, MANY months now - sometimes when I am focused on the side missions, I almost forget that this game has a LOT of action and world building into it, like seriously the home environment is so comfy and loving, full of beautiful and sweet characters (including the family) you can forget that - that is NOT the main game XD The main game, when I got back to it recently was as amazing as I remembered it, full of interesting lore, hot-hot-hot scenes, and gorgeous set-pieces! I recommend any and everyone reading this review to at least give this game a try, you will (most likely) not be disappointed :3
One of the best games on this site hands down. Actually has a interesting setting and story, the choices matter quite a lot for scene variety. All the girls are top class beauty's that actually have character development. and the MC is a self insert badass. 23-27 ish hours of content too if you do everything without speedrunning through. First game on here good enough to make me subscribe to their pateron just to support the developer.
Review for Desert Stalker Man...where to even begin. I don't have many words to describe this master piece, so I'll just get on with it. Visuals: Really good renders, and the overall environment is perfect and it shows the post apocalyptic desert theme pretty well. The wife Zahra is my favorite girl, her devotion to MC is admirable which I really like. Story: Very engaging storyline, It's post apocalyptic which is a genre I enjoy. Filed with multiple factions, with each of them having a story connected to them. Very well thought out and planned. Choices: The game has impactful choices and it shows. I've read through the walkthrough and they seem to be carrying a long lasting ramification. I romance everyone even though there are choices, what's a point of that harem tag otherwise? So, a top notch game. Can't wait for more content and what more things we get to explore! All the best devs!
I start the game over from the beginning every time a major update is released, you can imagine how much fun I’m having. The game is truly amazing and has a unique story. The characters each have their own distinct personalities. The dialogue feels natural and fluid,it doesn’t sound forced or contrived.
Amazing art, great and fairly unique story. Regularly updated. Been following this game for a few years now and it just keeps getting better. Every time you see that it gets updated you know there will be quality there.
I’ll start by saying this game genuinely surprised me. I usually dislike games where the main character is a god-like figure worshipped by every woman he meets. Desert Stalker manages to make that well-worn trope work by placing the MC in a specific role within a fictional setting where such power and prestige actually make sense. What would normally come across as juvenile fantasy instead feels grounded and, at times, even plausible, given the world of the game. The game also offers meaningful player choice. You can shape your MC as cruel and sadistic or take a more measured, merciful path, and the range of kinks and interactions is broad. As erotic content, Desert Stalker ranks highly. Beyond that, the story is genuinely compelling. While the post-apocalyptic backdrop is familiar, the game introduces intriguing mysteries and discoveries that unfold naturally and keep you invested in what comes next. Visually, it’s equally impressive. The character models are distinctive and attractive, and the environments are richly detailed, adding real depth to the world.
Sexual Shotgun Surgery: Desert Stalker Potential Spoilers ahead. Read with Caution. If you are deeply familiar with the series and don't care about story analysis and just want the tl;dr, skip to the TL;DR section I will break this review down into several sections: Broad overview, Graphics and Sound, Writing and Dialogue, and my TL;DR. If it's too long, I couldn't care less- just don't read it. The author of this placed a lot of explanation and seems active in community discussion, so I have afforded them the due effort that I believe they've tried to put into this work. **Section 1: The Desert is our playground** In the far-flung future, after a series of cataclysms and self-perpetuated Armageddon's, we find ourselves playing as a **Desert Stalker** in the geographic area of future-Egypt. Imagine the events of S.T.A.L.K.E.R, Fallout, A Canticle For Leibowitz, Mad Max, and Wasteland all occurred at the same time. The previous world's moral and ethical core is shattered. What exists in the power-vacuum is raw strength and the ability to organize killers to your own end- whatever you can take is yours, and whatever you cannot defend will be taken. We're in the era of anarcho-feudalism, where those clever or strong enough to hold onto old city-centers can declare themselves autocrat and everyone else needs to bend the knee or be killed. Our task as a Desert Stalker is several fold. First: Serve your Queen, who sends us out along the desert borders to find areas ripe for scavenging or reverse-engineering old-world technology. Capture and kill targets the Queen requests, and spy for her. Secondly, we are the petty-nobility to this Queendom, afforded certain rights and privilege's that allow us to ignore guards and citizens and behave with impunity. Third, build up the personal fortune and reputation of your family by knocking up as many women as possible and prolonging your blood-line. Fourth, help out a group of attractive supernatural mutants who live a short drive away from your villa. Ghouls? Desert Stalker has that. Mutated creatures? Desert Stalker has that. Supernaturalism? Desert Stalker has that. Elves? Desert Stalker has one. The game is played with little need for input from the player. It's a lot more of a kinetic novel than the game would infer. There's an over-hanging global-map for you to visit certain places- your sister in law, the Queen, your abode, and a couple of quest-locations. There are choices to be made and certain scenes can be locked out from viewing based on your decisions- so there are branching paths to an extent. However, it is a ren'py game, and it doesn't break any new ground in the aspect of branching story-lines. What is unique about Desert Stalker is the hard-reset on human morals and ethics which allow the world to explore a series of taboo's and kinks that wouldn't fly in our modern contemporary day. The author, therefore, has created an environment which naturally assists the sort of erotica they want to write and display, rather than creating an environment that works against the erotica. Too many games start with an interesting place/premise/time period and then attempt to shoe-horn the sex into their preferred fiction setting. Desert Stalker takes the preferred fiction setting and tailors sexual encounters around this new culture and environment. Your Desert Stalker has an **adopted daughter,** an **actual daughter,** a ride-or-die **wife** who is completely on-board with the existing culture and takes deep satisfaction in her husband's sexual prowess, violent power, and political prestige. She's unabashedly and unashamedly **you** but with tits. And it's extremely refreshing to have a married partner in a game like this who is as equally freaky and down-to-shag as the player is. The family dynamics are all similar but the author has gone out of their way in order to make each woman distinct in their dialogue and personality. They're all similar enough on look and style to clearly be family, but they behave and 'move' in ways that make them their own unique identity. This is a difficult balance to pull off, but the author does it well. Your Desert Stalker is also harem building. There are side-characters to recruit for your Home, side-characters to go out into the desert to visit and shag/take for yourself. Almost everything you do will be related to forwarding a sexual relationship with one or more women. There's little over-arching plot that really tethers any of these women or experiences together. If this game was a weapon, it would be an automatic slug-firing shotgun that you're not allowed to stop shooting- all you can do is control where the recoil will lead you. Forced sex? You got it. Incest? Got it. Sex under duress? You got it. Power disparity? You got it. Authority subversion? You got that, too. Your Desert Stalker is the sexiest, most desired man in Neo-Nu-Neue Egypt. But as the author continues to expand this game's scope and scale, it all sort of gets lost in itself. Even after all these years, there's little narrative cohesion that binds the character development together. By the half way point of content, even the most astute and locked-in readers might find themselves wondering why the fuck they're doing anything at all. There's a lot of plates spinning at this proverbial table. You have your **Household.** Here you will shag your daughters, wife, your slaves and harem, and occasionally host your friends to shag their nieces and daughters, too. Then you have the City itself, with the Queen, Guards, Sex-Slaves, and in-laws. Then you have the Mutant base, replete with silent-stoic-elf, psychics, and muscle-mommies. Then you have your part-time job as a Raider, in which you bully the shit out of female raider-leaders via sexual domination. Your MC's dick will be absurdly busy and has to have the highest antibiotic rating in the world. **Section 2 - Walking Like an Egyptian: Visual and Sound** The locations themselves are well detailed and fit with the North-African/Post-Apoc Egyptian aesthetic a lot. Fans of Serious Sam will find themselves seeing familiar settings and sun-flares. The homes are all well lived in and provide a **mild** characterization of its owners- but, like many erotica projects, the author fails to really turn the locations themselves into a character or an assistant to erotic writing. There's no objects in backgrounds that reveal more about a character, their likes, their dislikes, etc.. There is instead a 'journal' room which provides exposition if you want it, but can be totally ignored. The author, it seems, doesn't want to bore his players- but they wouldn't be boring if they placed more characterization in the location themselves. Models are all varied. The most generic and forgettable model is Emilia, a rather generic blonde sex-servant that acts as an 'exotic' flavour in this primarily olive-tanned area. Raider models are appropriately scuffed with scars, dirt, and desert-markings. 'Civilized' characters look like they have all the modern amenities: Shampoo, conditioner, razor-sharp trimmers, perfumes and running water. The soundscape of Desert Stalker is exceptionally weak. Music is serviceable and fits the geography and themes. There's very little sound in terms of tactile response during sexual encounters. There's little to no moan/panting/skin-touch sounds. You're going to rely exclusively on visual and writing for your erotica. For a game that has such an eclectic series of inspirations, it is disappointing that they didn't put a modicum of effort into making the soundscape better assist the story they're trying to tell. Most ren'py games have this issue, I find- even in the largest and most popular games on this site, devs severely under-estimate the power of good erotic audio and it really wounds Desert Stalker here. There's the occasional sound of a gust of wind, doors open and close, water splashes- typical short .5 second sounds, but no noises that arise from the characters interacting with their environments and certainly not with each other. I won't belabor the point. **Section 3: Too many Cooks** Desert Stalker's writing is **perfect** for its setting and scale. It's believable. Though I believe the author is expanding too far and not deep enough into many areas. The mutant plot-line is completely unnecessary as far as I can tell- simply an excuse to add fantasy/modern Sci-Fi models to the game. The Raider plotline exists solely as a means for players to enact dominant take-what-you-want power fantasies, but it's not written with any meaning or deeper characterization and just serves to remind the audience that our MC is a walking talking prick. Things come to the MC too easily. You will never once feel like you're out of control or not in charge. All characters will defer to you, your wants, your needs, and your ideas. There's plenty of choice in this game, but not a lot of real consequence. Once you're in the middle of the experience, much of it becomes a blur. It's a game that has written a setting and character-cast that actually insists on the kinks and power-disparity on display, rather than working against it- so few characters, if ever, will try and waste time moralizing or making ethic-statements. I cannot stress enough how **good** this narrative decision was. The only real 'pursuit' storyline is between the MC and their birth-daughter and heir-apparent, Shani. Their romantic pursuits have not occurred prior to the game beginning, and they have had instead a clean and healthy father/daughter or mentor/student relationship thus far. Everyone else, on the other hand- adopted daughter, wife, house-servants, even the Queen herself, are all wrapped around your finger and yours to take when the author dictates. The build-up with this character, however, is well paced- especially in conjunction with the other ladies of the household and how it dovetails with the Queen. There's always just enough plot to let your batteries recharge before hopping back into something lewd- but as previously mentioned, those beats for slowing down and reorganizing where we are in the plot and game aren't very efficient- they just kinetically propel you to the next sexual encounter. But at this stage, I'm just sort of tired. None of the sexual plots have pushed forward the 'main' plot. They exist separate from each other, and thus one major narrative element is constantly feeling like it clashes with the other major narrative element. The author has established the setting and theme of their game, now they need to simply double-down on it and commit, rather than continuing to scatter-shot scenes and kinks around the desert. Desert Stalker is very close to hitting the feeling of having 'too many cooks,' with too many kinks and concepts being shoe-horned into a time and place that frankly doesn't need it, or at the very least, deserves it in more amounts and of a higher quality. But it's not quite there **yet.** What Desert Stalker does well, and should continue to pursue, is utilizing descriptive elements to explain the thoughts behind your partners actions during erotica-scenes. Going into the motivations, inner-thoughts, and providing subtext and characterization during erotica is done very efficiently in this game. More games could learn from expertly dovetailing the right amount of characterization and narrative dialogue with the erotica scenes, utilizing erotica scenes as a 'plateau' for characters to climb towards and grow, so as not to remain utterly static. Some characters do feel like they're already 'finished' and no longer plot-relevant, but there's more than enough time and content in this game to right that ship. **TL;DR** Desert Stalker is a content-packed post-apocalyptic neofeudalist wonderland where the MC can indulge in romance, forced-sex, harem building, and even politics-via-seduction. Like other titles, it suffers from a lack of a decent soundscape and audio cues. Its plot is meandering and scatter-shot, providing a few select moments of genuine intrigue before falling back into a quasi-repetition of slowly increasing stakes. Its graphical choices are servicable- I'd even wager beyond average- and it ticks many of the subjective boxes I look for in a game of this kind. But it's getting very close like other well known titles here for becoming too big for its original scope and scale and the end product could suffer as a result. However, I have faith in the author's vision- a hodge-podge patch of popular 20th century post-apoc scenarios in a geographic area rarely touched by modern erotica- and thoroughly enjoyed my experience in Desert Stalker, and hope that now the cast has been clearly established they focus on propelling the characters forward and building them 'tall' instead of 'widening' the story further and further until it becomes more of a puddle instead of a pool of erotica. Story: 10/10 Renders: 9/10 Animation: 8/10 Sound: 6/10 Characters: 10/10 Amount of choices: 8/10 Amount of lewd content: 10/10 Lewd content variety: 8/10 Easily top 3 AVN's for me. If you like dystopian settings and stories, you will love this game.
Why you should buy this game: - Live, three-dimensional characters with values, personalities, and goals, and they behave accordingly. This is rare for visual novels, and for erotic novels, it is an exceptional quality. - Beautiful, high-quality, and lovingly crafted slides that perfectly convey the atmosphere. The visuals of the erotic scenes are stunning. - A vast number of scenes, dozens of times more than in a typical erotic novel. - Excellent and well-chosen musical accompaniment. This is one of the rare novellas in which I never wanted to turn off the background music. - A unique and detailed world with good lore, almost without clichés. - The absence of graphomania. There are no typical novellas tons of text about nothing, reading which you die of boredom. - The absence of grind. (Since when has the absence of something become a big plus?) What could be improved: - The main plot is not distinguished by depth. Although, nowadays, where can you find a visual novel with a deep storyline? - The sound effects don't seem as good compared to the outstanding quality of everything else.
As everyone already write it, massive game ! I usually don't like renpy games but this is a master class, the game is really great, scenes are really cool ! Nice fap material and reusable many many times in my experience ! I strongly recommend it !
The animations are great quality and quantity, with a lot of animations for every character. It has a interesting environment, idk if a catch the story pretty well but is at least interesting. The same for the characters that are various and pretty good designs. Overall great game, maybe I would like a better story to give 5 stars, but i really dont think this game needs it, at least for me is a really good game to enjoy and leave and dont focus so much on storytelling
Overall, this AVN is very well made and stands out in several areas. The visual quality is especially impressive, with highly detailed environments and character models that give the game a polished and immersive feel. The artwork and animations are clearly crafted with a lot of effort, which makes the scenes engaging and visually appealing throughout the experience. The game is quite heavy on incest-related themes, which may not be for everyone and could feel uncomfortable for some players. However, within the context of the story, these elements are presented in a way that feels intentionally designed rather than random or forced. The developers seem to have focused on building situations and interactions that fit the narrative and character dynamics.
This was my first AVN and I love it, so much so that I purchased it. The settings is very fascinating and the novel does a really good job at pacing the narrative so the world feels alive. The sex scenes are great, the characters are great, but what really does it for me is the story line. I just want to know more about the world and the protagonists place in it
I've finished build 0.20.3, so it's time for a review. The game is very good, even in its current form, which suggests a long development period before version 1.0. The time it took to reach the end of the build was over 22.5 hours. Quite a lot. And for a game with an adult setting, it's enormous. It's safe to assume that build 1.0, if released, will easily double that time, and considering that I have three unfinished main missions and six side missions in my quest, it will even triple it. This is a huge plus, as the game's world is intriguing. The author chose a post-apocalyptic setting, which was quite risky, as it's a well-worn and rehashed idea. Fortunately, the setting is unique and original. Another plus. And here we come to a certain feature that is the greatest advantage of "Desert Stalker" - it is a well-thought-out, coherent and truly "ADULT" world. As we know, so-called "adult games" are 99% primitive, clumsily made and boring projections of the authors' fantasies. Their "adulthood" comes down to showing bare tits, wet pussies and completely trivial, unimaginative and poorly executed "scenes"... Let's add to this the character models, which - if they are simply "borrowed" from generally recognizable universes - are still quite good, but when the "authors" of these "works" have the ambition to "create" something themselves - the result is usually a bizarre mix of anatomically incorrect monsters and generically made - if the editor allows - faces. If you add to that the "so-called" animation... my god, I won't even describe it - everyone knows what I mean. In the case of "Desert Stalker" the world It's — from beginning to end — adult. I think the main factor that determines this is the chosen setting — a post-apocalyptic world MUST be brutal, full of struggles for survival, domination, and access to resources. Otherwise, we're dealing with a children's fairy tale like Fallout 4. Also, the place of women in a world after a global catastrophe isn't even remotely close to what we see in real life. If someone has a problem with that, they shouldn't play "Desert Stalker," as it presents the rules of this world in a believable and LITERAL manner. So, we have a semblance of order in the main location, chaos and a lack of rules all around, and every kind of madness and corruption everywhere — regardless of the setting. Here, the stronger and smarter always wins — just as it would be in the reality of such a world. Does this mean we MUST be emotionless and scrupulous assholes ? No — it turns out we have some influence on the MC's behavior and the interactions between them and the NPCs. Of course, the rules of the game are paramount — we operate within a specific reality. And it determines how far we can go in any given direction. It's a cool idea, introducing an RPG element to the game. Our choices ("ours," not the MC's) direct us towards certain possibilities, but can close off others — and that's a good thing! It should be made clear that by acting in a certain way, we lose the opportunity to see large chunks of content — something VERY rare in adult games. Okay, so what about hmm... girls and fucking? It's good; the game has a constant, primary erotic context. It's not just about fucking as an activity. Sex is simply part of how the rules work. It can be intimate and private, it can be public and universal, it can be part of faith, part of economic rules, currency, and a gift. It can be brutal and ruthless, it can be tender and focused. Simply put it's everywhere and it works everywhere. Since there's so much of it, it should be done well, right ? And it is. With a few minor exceptions. The main characters are well-designed and executed; of course, the author went a bit overboard here and there, and there are some details that stand out negatively (the eyes, especially the irises) — but overall, it's good. Characters less important to the plot are more random, and it's clear that there was a waste of time for author on truly unique and quality - matching characters, just to show someone once for two seconds, a little shame. The animations could be more natural. I mean, they're generally good, but some of them have a slightly "wooden" feel to their movements, and that's unfortunately noticeable. A separate category of "eroticism" in the game is the varied and quite interesting situations that lead to or result from sex. I won't spoil anything here, but I assure you, they can be very arousing and stimulating. A downside is the obvious inspiration for the characters' appearances, especially the MCs and the most important NPCs. You'll easily recognize a few familiar faces, and I don't think it's a good idea. The rest of the graphics — i.e. the backgrounds and animations unrelated to sex — are fine. The graphics can be pretty and are still consistent with the game world. I don't think Python offers the same capabilities as advanced graphics engines, so I consider the game simply well - executed graphically, that's all. The music is another good element — it's mostly ambient, but during combat or significant plot points, it changes to a more dynamic tone appropriate to the events it illustrates. Other gameplay aspects worth mentioning include several QTEs, the completion of which, whether completed or not, alters the course of events during which they were introduced. As for the story aspects, which you probably wouldn't expect, there's quite a bit of mysticism and supernatural elements. Well, that's time for me to reach a conclusion – as I wrote, this review covers build 0.20.3, and here, unfortunately, we're dealing with "Desert Stalker's" biggest flaw – the game ends unexpectedly and at a terrible moment – just when I expected another 22 hours of content-packed gameplay. I was angry and disappointed, but – after all, that speaks volumes about the game ! If after 22.5 hours of gameplay, I still felt like it wasn't enough and was waiting for more – it MUST mean only one thing – we're dealing with an EXTREMELY GOOD product, for which I only have one rating – despite the flaws mentioned in the review: 5/5 ! Really good job, guys
I hasitated to post a review of Desert Stalker because it's obviously one of the best games here, and even a strong contender for the top spot. I have lots of praise for it, and hence the rating. On the other hand, I think I might be done with it. Turns out, you can put too much shit into a story. By now you have Zones lifted from Stalker, Raiders from Fallout, the technology averse city of Zeta, the horribly mutaded cannibalistic Decayed, a completely different group of outcast mutants, a different different group of nomadic pacifist scientist time mutants, and the overarching plot and cast of main characters on top of all of that. And the longest running bit? Visiting your wife's sister daily for a family dinner to cuck her husband. Standalone, all of the adventures are fine and presented very well, but they don't really form a coherent story. The main plot barely even started, it's just worldbuilding and random events with (maybe) hints at something bigger. It's spread out to the point that even being a Stalker plays a rather small role in the whole thing, as any dude with a car or a sufficiently determined camel could have gone on the few missions Zotan actually takes in the line of duty. Game looks gorgeous most of the time, but sadly it often gets worse during the sex scenes. There you get plainer shots, and while girls look amazing in their outfits, there's something off about the nude skin textures and geometry. You get tons of content, but again it's spread so thin that a lot of scenes just have a couple stills, one or two short loops and are basically done before they even start. The payoff is hardly ever worth the wait. The scenarios are also not to my liking. Dom MC is often just an unbearable asshole, but Zaton is mostly fine. What really works is that he has Zahra on his side, and that woman sells his presumed badassery just by being with him. She's also there to facilitate the whole incest and infidelity bits - she's proactive, happy and calmly confident in her own worth. What doesn't work is that every girl wants the Z and it's just not that exciting or even convincing when he "takes" them. Things mostly happen to him, besides from a couple of more fucked up scenes. Even the Mereneith's storyline is a poor excuse for a "chase". Zahra saves the bit, as she often does, by looking right through it. Try it out, it's interesting and has some great looking girls and cinematic sequences outside of sex. By this point (0.20) the story seems to be going somewhere but at an unbearable pace, and most girl-centric storylines end with luckluster scenes. Oh, and what's up with the music? I mean I like it, it's directed nicely etc. but I could have sworn I heard Katie Melua's Flood, Addagio in D Minor from the movie Sunshine, and now a prominent track from Fallout 4. You guys sure you can do this?
Almost forgot about this game but ill be brief, already wasted enoguh time with this. The characters are basic and stupid, specially the ones that are there for the inclusion of the kinks needed for the game. The worldbuilidng is very unimaginative and nonsensical, the story is ok, the only reason I give it 2 stars and not 1, but with these characters, dialogs, and basic renders, it is just not worth the hassle of playing this
Desert Stalker: Review as of 0.20.3 TL/DR: Worth buying on steam. This is a long (20ish hour) game currently that is filled with good story content, great characters and exceptional renders. It's worth your time. Or just grab the latest release from F95. You do you, boo. Story: Post apocalypse Egypt where through plot reasons, things have gone back to ancient Egypt vibes. Harems - expected. Incest - expected. Slavery - expected. Basically society doesn't say no to the type of game you're playing and if you ick'd at any of those last 3 suggestions, it may not be for you. However, awesome plot about the series of events being the current normal - not expected, and very welcome. It's interesting and kept me engaged throughout. The overall setting however, with all the above factored into how you change the world and rebuild society, is fantastic. Character Variety: This didn't hit for me. If you like characters that have big boobs and wide hips than you can stop reading - this game is great for you. If you would prefer that characters had small boobs, hips, both? Yeah that's not really happening here. There are some characters that fit this mold but they are very clearly not the focus. They won't fit in your harem and you should move on if that's what you enjoy. The producer has an image of an ideal woman and sticks to it pretty thoroughly. Renders: Consistently high quality. Interesting angles chosen. Very good lighting - lots of low light scenarios where characters are illuminated by a single source of light. Good shadows. Lots of information conveyed by what is not shown, not what is. Before I touch on animations - I want to call out other reviewers who say a lot of the sex scenes are frame by frame. This is *correct* that *some* of the scenes are like this, but - they fail to mention that frame changes every line or two of dialogue. The developer has taken a lot of time to create specific camera angles that show the scene from a particular point of view. It's very intentional and while I love animations, this is also really good from a spicy point of view. It's a lot more animated than games which choose a single angle and stick with it to show the spicy scenes. Animations (NSFW & SFW): Quality does vary, but generally very high quality. Some of the sex stuff is a bit wooden, but it is very well balanced by the stuff that isn't. I see a lot of reviews saying it's a bit short and I'm wondering if we played the same game. Sure - some of it is. This isn't an invalid take. But there are other scenes which involve 5 or more positions, multiple characters and it's all beautifully animated. You need to invest some time into the game to see these, but saying they don't exist is straight gaslighting. Dialogue: Great. Characters have motivations and agendas. They ask and sometimes don't answer your questions based on their interests. It's all well translated (English at least). I always feel like clicking the extra options even if it's not required to progress a scene. I was also interested in reading the log type entries to learn more about the world. Sandbox: It's not really a sandbox as such. There's no grinding stats. The scenes progress naturally. While you may see some double up there's basically only continued scenes- something always changes or develops. Other than that, what can I say. Solid recommend. One of the best. Buy on steam or download on here. Whatever. This developer is worth supporting.
I love this game. I find the story telling excellent. Great visuals, an incredible wide range of characters and scenes with them. A game that combines excellent writing, with great scenes. Can't wait for the next part!
This game is easily in my top 10 of all time. Art. atmosphere, characters, sex scenes and animations are all top notch! One thing that let's this game down is updates take a long time, although it's not a surprise given the quality, I just hope we get more consistent updates.
I dont get why this game has such high rating, it fails as porn game miserably. Why two stars? One for story and world building, and another for models, but thats it. I dont like writing negative reviews, I kinda feel like I am disrespecting the hard work the Dev has put into the game, but this needs to be said. As a story game, Desert Stalker is amazing, as a porn game, it falls very, very short. Why? The sex scenes suck so much its insane. No build up, no tension, no dirty talk. Short and fast, boring sex scenes that are done in an instant. MC is like a bee, he stings once and is done for good. Subpar, limp animations that are not exciting at all. No cheek clapping, no physics, just super boring unimaginative Daz animations. Theres no sound, no moaning, nothing. Also, most of the sex scenes dont have animation at all. The scenes are so short, you get to enjoy nothing. Its like porn in this game is an afterthought. I have played so many games on this site, that I can tell when a sex scene is done good. And I can tell you, those games are rare. Its a shame, the Dev has a talent for telling a story, but falls so short when it comes to lewd content. Theres no back and forth in sex scenes in Desert stalker. No nuance. Few vapid sentences and the sex is done. It feels flaccid, limp like my pp when playing this game. Dev should go write a book and dont bother with lewd games or hire someone to spice it up. Insane letdown. At this point I am forcing myself to play the game for the story and find my lewd fix elsewhere. The high rating of this game is the most jarring, its like people forget we play these games for porn. Good story is important, but its very secondary. Steamy hot scenes are always a priority. Such a shame this game is. Edit:I got a bit further into the game. Theres one scene that was kinda ok, with Nadia in her bedroom. But no idea, if its the Devs learning moment or just one rare occurence. Will have to complete all the content and then might return to this review. Edit2:Never mind, the big scene with Shani was a letdown. Too fast, too quick, too bland. The review stays.
