Edgefield is a mix of the adult visual novel, dating sim and point-and-click adventure genres with a wide and colorful cast of characters to meet, befriend, and romance (in fully animated scenes) as you make your way through your freshman year at Edgefield University. Whether you choose to play as a male or female protagonist, you’ll have the freedom to pursue relationships with characters of any gender, with a goal of making this a deeply personal and inclusive experience. The Story (So Far) Spoiler So, here’s the setup: You’re 18 years old and on your way to Edgefield University, an expensive, prestigious school you’re honestly kinda shocked you got into. You’re interested in photography, but are undecided on what you’re going to study. On your ride there, you’re accompanied by your dad, his new gf, Sasha and her daughter, Emma. Once you arrive, you move into your dorm room and meet your new floormates. You can choose to flirt or make friends with any and all of them — totally up to you. We want to give you total freedom in who you pursue without locking you out of content if you’re not into a specific character. Everything is optional .

v0.2.1 What’s New in the HookUp App Update. In this first small Feature Update, players are introduced to the HookUp App and can swipe through a rotating pool of around thirty profiles before matching with two characters, one male and one female. These matches unlock repeatable evening encounters, each with their own progress meter that increases every time you invite them over. In the future, this system will unlock new sex positions. For now, each character will have one position available, along with an unlockable x-ray view. v0.1.1 Nine New Location Backgrounds - Get some more exploring in before classes start! Four New Hidden Cards - More monster girls to collect! Lots of bug fixes Small bits of polish to make everything smoother v0.1 Initial Release

It has a real potential, but right now there is not much to do. You can play for 2 in game weeks max and then you can check if there is more content but there is nothing else, game should probably just end after that, but I guess you can just keep taking the same test, work in dinner so you can buy more flags and repeat same 2 hookups forever.

Edgefield [v0.2.1] – Review Actual Score: 3.5/5 Edgefield shows immense promise. Even in its early stages, the game introduces impressive mechanics that set a strong foundation for a deep, immersive experience. The dorm room customization adds a welcome layer of personalization, and the diverse map locations suggest a world that will eventually feel expansive and alive. The character designs are a standout—they are well-crafted and hint at the potential for significant narrative depth as the story unfolds. The primary issue at this stage is the "wide but shallow" nature of the gameplay. While the framework is ambitious, there is currently a disconnect between the available features and the actual content to enjoy. In its present state (v0.2.1), Edgefield feels more like a technical demo than an early-access release. The ultimate success of this project hinges entirely on the consistency and frequency of developer updates. Without a steady stream of new narrative paths and interactions, the polished mechanics don't have enough room to shine. Final Verdict I recommend keeping this on your watchlist rather than diving in immediately. To get a true sense of the game's trajectory, check back in six months. > If you are seeing this review months after its posting, compare the current version number to v0.2.1 . If the version hasn't progressed significantly, proceed with caution. However, if the devs have been active, this could easily become a top-tier title in the genre. Best of luck to the development team, the potential is clearly there.

I played version 0.2.1 Really intriguing characters. Excellent writing. The weird family situation is awkwardly contrived, presumably as a necessary trope for the genre, but once you get to the university and your family leaves, the quality improves dramatically. Characters I thought at first I would hate turned out to have intriguing depth. I really appreciate the freedom to romance any NPC regardless of the genders involved, too. I'm looking forward to updates, especially with Penelope.

Overall I really like this game and it shows promise for sure. The content however is just lacking and the pacing of release seems akin to another game on here where updates take forever and the amount of content released is just minimal. Pros The MC is not a complete idiot, prick, narcissistic, or anything else. He or She is actually likable which is a nice touch over most games on here. The NPCs all seem to have unique personalites to brief of interactions with most though. I like the graphics and freedom it is offering as well and how you get a choice to romance or friend every character with nothing being forced. Cons Way way way too short No indication that your done with your playthrough offers a lot and delivers on very little Overall its a good game and if it increases its content without super long delays my review could definitely change. As of now its just an avg game with very little to hate or like.

I love it, few bugs but I can't wait for more release! Great characters, nice gameplay. love the freedom and openness for us to chose our sexuality, exactly the kind of game I want. keep going man

The game is made with soul and a genuine creative approach that shines through even in the smallest details - something quite rare in this genre. The characters, both main and supporting, are charming and engaging. The visual style and design are pleasing to the eye, and the mini-games are not only fun but also feature the same fantastic design. The developers deserve huge credit. A well-deserved 5 out of 5!

Really awesome character development so far. I appreciate this art style more than the usual AI Daz NTR VNs posted to F95 lately. Devs added a lot of facial expressions and poses that I appreciate. Will happily subscribe if this game keeps chugging along with updates.

Not a ton of content right now but the potential here is huge. The cast of characters is very diverse which is always a plus. Too early to tell if your actions are going to have any real consequences (lock you out of some paths). Will be keeping an eye on this one.

Like others said before, this has the potential to become the next Summertime Saga. The (AI-)Artstyle is charming and I really like the characters -the open world aspect is very important for the devs which I like. However at this state of the game most of it is unlocked yet. At the beginning you can choose your gender and also have same-sex relationships which is quite cool. The UI is neat and I love the smartphone UI. The NPCs have all some kind of tropes which gives you a lot of different and interesting personalities Right now there is not much content... you get introduced to the university life and start to connect with the other NPCs/possible loveinterests/fuck buddies. I really hope the devs will continue working and release frequent updates... like I said... this game has the potential to become the new summertime saga... but hopefully only on the good sides I'm really hyped for new updates and will update this review to a 5/5 when I see that the progress is really coming and not just a kickoff. Lewdness factor right now: in progress - not much inside right now but hopefully a good backbone for the future played version: v0.2.0

Pros: Potentially the next Summertime Saga! Cons: Potentially the next Summertime Saga! Very early in development and already showing signs of excellence. The developer SEEMS like they will stay on track better than DC, but only time will tell on that front. Special mention that if you are a bisexual gamer like me, you will be VERY happy with the COMPLETELY OPTIONAL same sex content already in the game.

Off to a good start with lots of compelling characters and locations, just hope they're not biting of more than they can chew with this quite ambitious project. Making the cg's and interactions unique based on the gender of the MC is adding a definite value to me, makes you want to play more than once. AI-CG is usually not my thing, but I didn't find myself caring even once in this. Keep it up!

Despite the game being in early development and lacking in content the writing and characters are brilliant even the ai models are great. As the game develops, I hope there is an option to switch the mini games off as I've never been a fan of mini games in AVN's

[v0.2.0, I also played it at v0.1 months ago.] WIP but quite a great game! The writing is very endearing, and basically every character ends up likable. I find the art quite good too - it's very clean and with a consistent style, which is quite a feat for AI-generated sprites. Do beware that even in v0.2 there's still only a few hours of content (and one sex scene (with Peter) not counting the intro). I found it worth playing anyway, but some may want to instead wait for the game to mature more.

Truly amazing game. Not to hard to play, but not to easy either. I like the graphics, story, speed of event. Just keep it the way it is. Game has a lot of potential in future updates. A lot of characters to trigger a story with. Step by step, don't rush. You could create a franchise with this game in a far,far future. Just don't stop and keep the tempo. Reminds me a bit on a Summer time saga. I will rate it 5 stars only if i see a perfect animations in future updates. Well done so far.

Edgefield is literally what its name suggests: this game lets you edge towards a climax, but it hasn’t arrived yet. Just so you know, while playing, I take off my pants—I want to indulge and enjoy what the creators have brought. The amount of CGs in this game is sparse, especially considering it’s an NSFW/18+ game. The story develops slowly, and despite sharing similarities with Summertime Saga , it lacks the pacing you might hope for. Often, you're just clicking through conversations rather than being engaged by them. Although the content is still limited, this game leaves you craving more. The quality is excellent; talented people are working on this, with a clear understanding of their craft. Although AI is used in development, it’s not obvious or distracting while playing—it's great to see AI being used as a helpful tool. However, the pace at which updates are released is slow. It took over three months to develop version 0.2.0. Since then, there are more systems in place, but I hope for faster and more frequent content updates. A major downside is how difficult it is to find quests. At the start of the game, you need to unlock a map, but the game doesn’t guide you well. Every Monday, you have an exam, but there’s a large gap between the days when quests are active, making you feel bored and unable to explore much of the game world. This game desperately needs more content—we know it’s called Edgefield, but we’re waiting for that climax. A major plus point is that all characters have their own romance storylines. Hopefully, the scope the creators are working on is realistic for just two people. I really enjoyed Peter’s CGs and look forward to more content.

Sweet story. I do enjoy the little interactive elements you encounter and the mini games are simple and fun. Quite a bit of slow burn romance, not much filthy time. Looking forward to where this will go.

I have been waiting for version 2.0 for a while, about 5 months to be exact. And with all that time, they only have half an hour of content? Most of it too is just talking, the only “Sex” that happens is two scenes that the MC isn’t even a part of, and only 3 lewd pictures though sexting and only one nude, this is being written at a snails pace. The other thing is the Gameplay, “Sandbox” so you are constantly looking at empty rooms for the chance of a scene, some of which isn’t even pointed out in the To-do list (The Quest tracker in this game) And that to-do list is vague and will have to wondering empty rooms looking for an answer, for very minimal reward. The art is passable for being AI but the weird “animation” they tried was terrible not fluid at all and took me out of the experience. I will warn people not to get their hopes up for this game as it will most likely be abandoned when patron money dries up due to the slow updates, and lack luster content when it releases. I have seen plenty of other games that pop up then fall due to this exact reason. Furthermore, I was once following them on itch but realizing how they are paywalling for lackluster content, I will be distancing myself from this project.

So here I am again, playing a game with mature content, but with the attitude of a ten-year-old. I can't do anything, I know nothing, and I understand nothing. Every in-game day I have one event, after which I have to go to bed. I arrived at the university, where there is no one. I can talk to one or two people a day. To progress the story, I need to sleep through seven in-game days without any changes. I can't move to other floors, I can't knock on my neighbors' doors, I can't go to the restroom or other rooms, because everything is locked and no one is here. My phone doesn't work, the map only works from the outside. I can't go anywhere except through three doors. I can't order anything online, even though I have an online store on my phone and a ton of money. I have a question - maybe I should personally contact the developer for access to the game content? Why is there such a long pause before the in-game events? If this is a game for adults, then why does it feel like it's part of a developmental program for the mentally retarded? Author, why this particular approach? It's a game! It should captivate with its plot and events. Do you seriously think that going through a set sequence—a bed, an elevator, and one door in one game day—fills me or anyone else with joyful anticipation of exciting events? Is that the point of a game? Have you never been to a movie or a theater? A game is a work of art, a visual, interactive creation. And what do I need to interact with for an entire game week to see, understand, and feel it? Or do you simply not care? You're simply enticing people with pretty pictures to immerse them in the endless monotony of primitive actions. And what do you expect in the end? "Well done!" Great job! If you're a teenager, I apologize for the criticism, but you are not allowed to visit this site due to age. But if you're an adult, then why would you want a children's game for the mentally retarded? Is this some kind of experiment studying human behavior in extremely primitive mental states? When will it end?

Finally a game where I can choose my path the way I actually want! If I want to play the male main character and flirt with Trent or Peter and the other hot guys (which I do!) I can! So very few games do this. The art style is cute with lots of animations. Only thing is sometimes it's a bit difficult to know where and when to go as the hints on the phone to do list is a bit vague. Also it would be nice to know who is where on the map so I know where to go to interact with the people I want instead of going to every single place searching for someone at each time of day. If this is for immersion, maybe have a toggle option in the settings to allow to see people icons on the map? Other than those very minor gripes, I love it!
JohnnyDingDoe 2025-11-19
don't let the AI CG tag fool you, this is a very well made game so far, the animations are decent with the art being accurate to the characters through out. some good systems and bones in place, and if anything, the AI art probably would speed up the process of updates (i hope), so I'm looking forward to future updates!
