About Fighting the Past
Fighting the Past is a Ren'Py adventure and dating sim by Deloreen, with 3D CG visuals. You play a man who has moved into the home of childhood friend Katie while beginning a new stage at Luxford University. The household includes Katie's mother and a sister who livestreams, and you adjust to new technology, including social media and the HoloVerse virtual reality platform. A shocking turn appears when your father, already wrongfully imprisoned for years, faces the death penalty. You seek to clear his name, meeting people who may help and may also become intimate partners. Choices shape relationships and can have lasting consequences.
The current build is version 0.1, released August 2, 2024. It is the first public release, an early build rather than a finished game. It runs on Windows and Linux, uses English, and is uncensored. The latest update introduced the first public release.
Developer's description
You have just moved into your childhood friend Katie's house to start a new chapter of your life at Luxford University. As you try to settle into the household with Katie's mother and livestreaming sister, you try to adapt to the newfound technologies you never had growing up on a farm, like social media, and especially the new Virtual Reality platform HoloVerse. Spoiler Just as you're starting to get comfortable, you are made aware of the shocking news that your father, who already spent years wrongfully imprisoned, is now facing the death penalty. Realizing you're his only hope, you try to clear his name before this happens. You will meet a variety of people that can and will help you on your journey, and some of them might even be interested in you in intimate ways - who knows? Along the way, you get to make choices that will have an effect on your relationships with characters, so choose carefully as they might have lasting consequences!
