The "Abyss Forest RPG" series is themed around a reckless journey by a single girl. If the protagonist's story progresses smoothly, he will never encounter any sexual encounters, but this series won't let that happen. This is an RPG where you can stop and think slowly as you progress, but on the other hand, you won't be able to progress unless you properly equip yourself with equipment and skills. Spoiler This game has also turned out to be a very boring RPG! The difficulty level has been high throughout the series, and this title is likely to be tough for those unfamiliar with the series. Please refrain from purchasing this game if you have never played a classic RPG, have never played the series, or are purchasing it for the purpose of enjoying the ryona scenes. The game is the main part, and all the animations are just extras.

There is surprisingly little forest in this game so far Forest of the Abyss is SweetSprites long running passion project, and if you've played 2 (or even the first one!) you know what you're in for. Vore. So much vore. If it's not vore, it's restraint and energy drain. The protagonist, Arle, is an apprentice mage who can't help but come to the rescue when people are in need, something Actually Satan takes full advantage of; this means you can expect a lot of sidequests and missions alongside the vore. FoA3 builds on FoA2's job system, where Arle can learn different jobs. Unlike FoA2, the jobs each have their own separate level, though once you get some levels in your starting job, levelling gets a lot easier. While having to level three different jobs makes the game harder, there's also been some improvements to make the game easier. Anti-bind accessories come much earlier, weaknesses are now openly displayed, symbol encounters (the vore encounters, which you can see on the map) are more predictable and easier to dodge, and most important, your warp ability is no longer tied to circles; you can now warp to any warp location you've previously visited at any time. Where this series loses players is in the grinding aspect. This is an RPG first and a vore game second, so for people used to being handed a cheat item, or having the gameplay be an excuse for porn, it's got a brutal difficulty curve. Grinding is essentially expected, both for items and for levels. Once you get over the initial hurdle (in around the second dungeon) though, grinding becomes monumentally easier, and you can start to cheese high level encounters with good gear (depending on your drop RNG) It also loses players in that there's no human-human sex. None. Thus far, any penetrating of Arle has been done from-holy shit, she's from Puyo Pop? Really? Anyway. Any penetrating of Arle has been done by tentacles, or something along those lines; even the human bad end has her tied up with sex toys instead of penetrated. This is fine for me, but for others, it may not be. This is, personally, one of my dream games, and I've been playing it since release. If you're interested in vore or binding at all, you owe it to yourself to check out this game. Otherwise, it'll likely be a pass for you.

Abyss Forest 3 follow in the footsteps of the first two games. Arle is once vacation and once again skipped on her training, meaning she's now back to being weak. New story in the making, only the first part is released so far but already plenty of contents. The english translation is of excellent quality. - Grindy for the levels, the pacing can be weird. - Special encounters with mobs that can capture you are STILL very punitive, an easy mod is there but even then it's no cakewalk. - Items that can be bought at the main village are there to prevent the restraints, giving you a fighting chance... It's a bit like preparing to fight a special opponent in Monster Hunter come to think of it. - Differents class that need to be unlocked, each having abilities that themselves are unlocked by leveling up. There is vore, screwed by spiders, tentacles, plants, and magical devices. But a pretty damn good game overall.

Forest of the Abyss 3 is one of the most disappointing H games I've ever played, it has all the elements a good turn based RPG needs like a well thought out job and skills system and enemy weaknesses that you can exploit from the get go and good characters and world building, but none of that matters because the bad things in the game destroy the experience: 1-The game is VERY grindy, it takes forever to level up and get money and materials like “ore” to buy even the weakest equipment and the casino option is also a massive grind. 2-exploration is forbidden, stray a little from the main path and the enemies will kill you in 1 or 2 hits, so you have this nice world to explore but you will be “on rails” for most of the game. 3-You can ONLY save at the goddess statues and the living pumpkin heads, so if you die you can lose a lot of progress. 4-Some powerful monsters can end the fight randomly in a single hit if they use a spacial binding/capture attack, you can buy accesories that can protect you from those spacial attacks but the accesories CAN FAIL and you will get defeated instantly. 5-The protagonist is cute and this IS an H game but you can’t enjoy the porn and the main character can’t explore her sexuality because ALL the sex scenes are a game over, so you get punished and lose game progress. 6-No sex with humans EVER, The protagonist doesn't even get a boyfriend/girlfriend so that at lest she can enjoy some vanilla sex; if she ever experiences sex, it’s game over. I can't in good conscience recommend this game.
