Friends in Need sees you stepping into the role of a man who made a very bad financial decision, which nearly resulted in your ruin. Years later, the reverberations of that decision echo once more through your life, suddenly enriching you beyond your wildest imaginings. When your best friend and long-time crush comes to you for help with her own financial misfortune, you realize that with nearly unlimited resources, you can be a force for good - or evil. Spoiler: Content Spoiler Friends in Need is a game focusing largely on moral choices - good, bad, or a little of both! That means that this game contains some taboo themes and situations. However, it's entirely possible to play a wholly good route, if that's your prerogative! Most relationships in the game are optional, and you typically have every opportunity to avoid sex scenes with specific characters, as well as certain non-vanilla kinks and fetishes. Friends in Need is written and coded by NeonGhosts, and the art in the first chapter is by HorizonticalStudio, with NeonGhosts taking over future CG renders.

I really love this game! The LIs have depth, have personalities, are not mindless NPCs that just say yes to sex with MC! And the choices, oh dear! The choices are plentiful and matter! You can go full Evil, you can go full "superhero", you can go in between! So far there are no consequences of chasing every tail, but as there's no "harem" tag, most likely there will be at the end, or it will make you choose only one (or 2, as throuples are always in fashion!)

Fantastic game. You get to play any way you want. From a cuddly, loving philanthropist to a hardcore sadist and everything in between. The story is really good and the girls amazing with each one having a unique background. Talk is cheap. Def try this one.

The visuals start out a little rough but get better as the game progresses. I would love to see a MtF trans LI introduced in a future update, but that's just my personal preference.

The game has quite appealing, beautiful graphics, and the characters are attractive and have a wide range of different appearances. This is commendable and deserves a [very] good rating. The story is essentially exciting and captivating, albeit depressing at times. The writing is technically sound. It is understandable and fluid, avoiding excessive thoughts and inner monologues and instead focusing primarily on the plot. However, from the prologue onwards, the story suffers from a mixture of daily hecticness and sluggishness in terms of progress (details to follow). I can't comment on animations because in my playthrough (including Chapter 14 and six targeted LI's*) there is not one single h scene – not even a date... *‘positive’ playthrough; intended flirts w/ Carolina, Viola, Callie, Pepper, Gabby, Brittani; only scene with Beatriz in Brazil, who is not seen again afterwards Although the MC now has all the resources at his disposal, he never really takes the time to properly care for any of the LI. At no point does a romantic or erotic atmosphere arise. The narrative consists solely of a daily grind that is so stressful that it really dampens the mood. Also the stories of the individual LIs have made little progress so far and don't seem to be moving any closer to a resolution. This makes the progression feel not only hectic, but also tedious. This pace is interrupted only once by a contrasting, endless, at least ten-minute recap of the lazy time before the interview, which is just as unentertaining. Despite the essentially moving story, the gameplay has been – considering the length of the game – fairly unsatisfactory so far . (2.5 points rounded up)

Just a short review with a warning, because the dev doesn't: this game includes unavoidable (group) rape scenes. You have some agency over the MCs behaviour, but you'll see drugged out girls getting raped by dealers and their clients. The rest of the game is about more or less broken women, that use and abuse the MC to get a jail-free card. He is in almost all relationships the rich idiot that "rescues" the sloppy seconds from his rival or just the next local criminal. Most "LIs" are avoidable, even tho in most cases the decision is then to let them get raped or starved to death. The main girl is particularly disgusting, a gold digger that sells herself after your rival screws her over and tries to sell her himself. At last, when the loan shark tries to force her into a gangbang porn, she falls back on her plan B - the MC. This is completely scripted, you just decide, if you want her pussy for being her paypig or not. There are a few great LIs, such as a kinky blonde that works in a museum, but most girls and women are either married, raped drug addicts, prostitutes or gold digger. But they look good, except Nikki, she was even marked by the rich guy she cucks you with. She is beyond disgusting.

It's honestly irritating when you are just looking for some quick smut and you get pulled in by a well thought out story with great characters and unique choices. When you take a long sigh like the hit of a cigarette after a long day, you know something just hit right. Either way, it was great- and the author's talents are almost wasted, here. Definitely more a little more gritty noir than some of the comedy-styled games I'm used to, but it definitely delivers.

Another generic harem game, huh? Nothing special really... that is, until you install a little patch that unlocks the real game. Friends in Need can be about one man's odyssey to help anyone he sees; your character is simply a nice guy who hit it big, and now he gets to be nice to more than just one person; it's decently written, but there's nothing crazy really going on, almost no stakes; it is a fine game still, with great characters that make difficult but real choices and that are not just stupid sex dolls for the MC. Friends in Need can also be an exploration about how money changes not the man but changes what that man can get away with, about how influence gives one not the power to see the world as it should be but about imposing one's will on the world, no morals, no scruples, and sometimes not even rhyme nor reason. The greatest feature is that it's not exaggerated, you can be a monster to some, and an angel to others, and the game mostly tries to maintain coherence between these, hiding yourself behind your power, but ever paranoid about what could become of you, mostly because the MC isn't some stupid self-insert that exists solely to fulfill your degenerate fantasies, he's a genuine character who is aware of the situations you put him in, you're simply the hand that can hold him back or push him further. With one patch and some horrible choices, you can turn this game from something you'd find anywhere on this website to an involving story of the real evil that lurks amongst us. You'll feel like shit for most of these, but I do believe good art should disturb and make you face realities you wish not even to think about; that's what makes it engrossing and worth experiencing. Can't wait for Season 2; can't wait for either the karmic resolve of all the evil I've committed or the sad reality that people like the MC can get away with anything as long as they play their cards right.

At first, I did not understand this game, it seemed like a cliché harem, of which there are many. But the more I read and thought about the story, the more I immersed myself in it and wanted to know what would happen next. I would like to note the freedom of choice. You can skip some "imposed" characters that you don't like. As well as the personal experience of the main character. Will his money and power spoil him, or will he remain a simpleton, a good person? It's up to you. It is worth noting the personal stories of the secondary characters, but they are revealed in small parts, and it is difficult to get a complete picture, but it will definitely be interesting to find out in the future. However, there is no global choice here. Still, to a greater extent, this is not a sandbox, but a kinetic novel with a choice of certain paths. After reading some reviews, the dudes here lack sex. However, it is clear to the naked eye that the developer highlights the story here in the first place. (And as for sex, all those who lack it here, you can cooperate together and help each other *wink* D) In conclusion, I would like to wish the developers success in their business and grow and improve.

Man I love this game. The art is fine, the gameplay is acceptable, but what really makes it good is the writing and freedom of choice. The characters are actual characters with depth, nuance, and their own struggles and not just sexdolls with different wigs that worship the ground MC walks on (MC worship makes me gag). The dialogue is engaging, well written, fun to read, and doesn't make me vomit! That's very rare these days. MC is a very interesting approach. He is both an already established character but he is also our blank slate. You can make him into a decent guy or a piece of shit who rapes people, and I love that! I get to decide who he gets into relationships with not the developer, with ONE exception (on that later). I also love Nicki. Partly because I believe players in this genre have been babied too much with how inoffensively characters get written (as horny sycophants) and how every unlikable/complicated/slightly antagonistic character only seems to exist to either get their asses kicked to showcase how cool our MC is or just to get raped and made into a slave. Also because I like just how messed up she is. It's obvious she's been through some rough shit, made some bad choices and is dealing with SOMETHING and YOU get to decide on how to deal with her (help or rape). And partly because on one playthrough I tried the rape route (usually go for the charmer if the game allows it but I could go both ways if the scene is hot) and I saw the look on her face being complete resignation and found myself asking 'just how much fucked up shit did she go through to tolerate THIS without even protesting?' and I was completely hooked on her character. THAT is some good fucking characterization. Great game. 5/5.

Average game. Renders and models are good, H scenes could be more but it's fine, and the writing is decent to quite good at times, the developer is a native speaker and he clearly cares about it. There are some major (imo) flaws however. All routes aside from the main one lose out on a fair bit of content which isn't replaced. There is little actual story branching, main events (text, some renders) do change based on your choices but the final result is not that different. If you enter the "patched" route with at least one female character you get to make 1 seemingly (hopefully) important story-wide change. You can make MC have a good relationship with the local very powerful drug dealer. If you only play as the good-asshole MC, not even that. character routes change more but here too the events are often the same with different excuses. Love path? MC let's go out for dinner. Asshole path? Hey come have dinner with me or else. I understand why the developer has chosen to do this and he's not alone in this either, but I think it has been overused here. not a lot of meaningful (ie. I do not consider slightly different clothes in 3 renders meaningful) content exclusive to one specific route, extra love scenes aside. All characters are into polite nice guys. You literally cannot go wrong picking the most polite option there is every time and they will throw themselves at MC who is rich, good-looking and still fairly young. A huge dick completes the package. They all are polite themselves, super self aware* and plagued by huge life issues. I'll let you decide whether this is realistic or not. Since in the other routes they don't love MC the lovey dovey content is cut. Fair enough, but replace it with something else... but truthfully, at least one or two characters should have been made to explicitly not love but at the very least prefer asshole-ish MC. The story overall feels very compartmentalized, it's like many 1 on 1 routes, what you decide to do with, or to, one character has little influence on everyone else. I also disagree with the decision to make choices as clear as distilled water. "Be nice" or "Be blunt" instead of the lines themselves make it completely effortless. Oh and I think you may have guessed which option awarded you love points there. ts realistic though. *this does not apply to the 3-4 characters with either "retard" or "asshole" printed on their forehead. Convenient, stupid, 1 dimensional plot devices. All assholes are for some reason written like how American liberals view their boomer cuckservatives. 24/7 hardcore extremists. It's not really me seeing things, the developer has made this clear by making the first conservative you interact with explicitly cry about the 'woke libs'. Making a *nineteen* yo slut act like that and bully an 18yo Russian saint because of USSR is so unrealistic, stupid and out of place it made me think about the Reddit avatar, phone in hand, making that conversation up on r/PublicFreakout or whatever is the correct subreddit for that kind of thing. I guess the developer may be a fan.

2 stars because 4 is too much and 5 is an exaggeration... Cofcofcofbotscofcofcof... I'm not saying it's a bad AVN because it isn't, buuuut let me summarize it this way... of all the girls you see on the cover, the MC only has sex with 4 of them (not counting the dark path) and don't even make me mention what he did with Gabby or how little he takes advantage of Ashe, Viola and Britanni, the pretext the Dev use to get Gabby away from the MC was like "BRUH really?" Because that wasn't to give depth to the story, it was because Dev was afraid of cancellation, it's too obvious how he changed the focus on those types of characters just because some people love to do drama for a few pixeles... Dude just say they are over 21 and matter solved, women of legal age with a petite body exist and they're even more common than voluptuous women but anyway... I guess in the dark path it must be full of content otherwise this game is a disappointment

This is by far the best VN I've ever played. The writing is on a whole other level than anything on this site. The love interests are all unique with fleshed out personalities and look gorgeous. If you want a feel good sex adventure which tugs at your heart strings it's for you, but it's also for you if you wanna play as a bastard and sexually abuse or even rape the love interests. Both paths lead to some really steamy scenes. Or you can go the middle ground where you use your money and influence to get what you want. And finally you can go with different routes for all the love interests. It's a really good game.

I rarely rate games on this site, but this one was/is really outstanding in it´s writing. It´s got an interesting story, characters you care for and a lot of meaningful decisions, all in all a real gem! I hope the story get´s finished (meaning it gets more seasons), but what is already there is pretty awesome in my opinion.

It's not perfect. If I had to critique it, particularly as you get to the later parts published, it lets its view of 'realism' get in the way of what would be a better (or more enjoyable) story. But its very well written, has good characters, and is one of the ones I've happily paid for. Models are mostly fine, with a lot of good ones. Renders are often great. Animations are okay.

Very engaging characters (LIs and others) with personalities and situations that are much more complex and interesting than your typical VN. I can't comment on the "dark" paths, but the world itself is already pretty gritty even when you're playing as a white knight. Erotic scenes have decent variety and fit well in the story. There is a certain amount of porn logic, but much less so than typical in stories with many LIs. Overall a great VN with lots more story to tell. I hope season 2 happens.

The game isn't really my thing, sorry... I personally don't like the animations; some of the in-game screenshots look better. A lot of it looks choppy and strange. I haven't seen that in many other games. Then I got the feeling you have to force some of the girls... That's not for me, sorry, no! I liked Nicki from the beginning her Tatoos later on are nice !! Although I sometimes had a few ???? moments during the gameplay. The in-game graphics are good, and I think all the girls look hot. I think I'll finish Chapter 1, but I don't know yet if I'll play again after that!
