AI art was fine, plot and mystery was okay, game did not drag on, one mini game is skippable and another is kind of fun. Biggest con is main girls each having only one full sex scene near the end of the game. If some player was expecting seduction of them and then having some fun while keeping things secret, that's not the game. Rounding up to 4 stars.

Review – VN - Unity - Harem Fantasy [v0.026] by Sweet Buns I decided to write a more elaborate, honest, and sincere review of this game — especially after reading a couple of comments below mine that, in my opinion, sound more like personal frustration than constructive criticism. Most of the objections I’ve seen simply don’t hold up once you actually read the developer’s dev log . About the AI Art — the “elephant in the room” A lot of people criticized the game because of the use of AI art, but it’s clear that many didn’t even bother reading the dev log . The dev explains very openly that the artwork is not directly AI-generated . Every piece starts as hand-drawn art , then goes through AI to enhance color, polish details, and unify the visual style (since multiple artists are working on the project). So this isn’t the typical “lazy AI art” full of cloned faces and weird hands. It’s a hybrid process : sketch → paint → refine with AI → manual editing again. Each character takes days to finish. The AI here works as a support tool , like a turbocharged Photoshop — not as an “automatic artist.” Saying it’s “just AI” clearly shows a lack of reading the dev log and underestimates the artists’ effort. I know AI art isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but let’s be fair — the dev’s approach here is a healthy and responsible use of technology , very different from what we often see on F95Zone: people throwing prompts into Midjourney and selling low-effort projects for quick profit. That’s not what’s happening here. ⚙ Development and Version Keep in mind that this is version 0.026 (pre-alpha) . It’s normal for an early build to have limited content, simple pacing, and features still in development. Even so, the project already shows potential and care . The use of AI here is not a shortcut — it’s a smart way to save time without sacrificing quality. Art The art is what immediately grabbed my attention. The combination of hybrid AI with a human touch works great. The visuals have personality and look far better than the generic Koikatsu or Honey Select models used in many other AVNs. I value hand-drawn art, but I also appreciate when AI is used correctly — and this game is a solid example of that. My real issue is with the devs who use AI just to cash in quickly and end up burning the AI art tag out of greed. That’s not the case here — there’s real effort and direction behind the visuals. Story The story is smooth and interesting. The protagonist becomes a court healer in an imperial harem , surrounded by beautiful women and dangerous intrigues. Your mission is to heal, seduce, and survive in the heart of the Celestial Empire — filled with passion, betrayal, and mystery. Even as a pre-build, the story is easy to follow and enjoyable — and I’m usually pretty demanding when it comes to writing. It’s a classic power-fantasy harem trope , but done in a light and entertaining way. I do wish there was a bit more background for the MC — how he became a court healer and what led him to the empire. The game starts right at the palace gates, and a short prologue would really help immersion. Voice Acting & OST Two strong points that deserve praise: Voice Acting : the characters’ voices are lovely and well performed. Madam Tao’s voice, in particular, is beautiful and expressive. It adds a lot of immersion and breaks that dead silence most adult VNs suffer from. OST : the soundtrack fits the oriental theme perfectly and enhances the atmosphere. These are small but meaningful details that show the dev is thinking about the overall experience , not just the NSFW side. Fetishes & Options Let’s talk kinks. I’m pretty neutral on futa — slightly inclined when the MC is futa rather than playing as a male in a futa world. I prefer something more direct, “Futa on female” works better for me than “male on futa,” but that’s personal taste, not criticism. but since it's something I don't like to see, I prefer to ignore it if possible, otherwise the only way is to skip it and life goes on. What matters is that the game doesn’t force anything . You can turn off fetishes you’re not into. That’s a big plus — it attracts more players instead of scaring them away. As for femboys , that’s not really my thing, so I tend to skip that content. But again, it’s great that the dev lets you choose. You can check the tags before playing and tailor your experience accordingly — that’s player respect. ⭐ Conclusion Harem Fantasy has a lot of potential. Even in this early version, it already shows: Well-executed hybrid art, A promising story, Great voice acting and OST, And flexibility for different player preferences. The developer is transparent, dedicated, and uses AI intelligently and artistically — something rare in this scene. With time and polishing, this game could easily stand out among fantasy-themed adult VNs. Final Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5) A promising project made with care, strong artistic direction, and responsible use of technology. I’m genuinely looking forward to seeing the complete version.

Review Update: v1.0.49 (English Version) Nothing has changed from my initial review, if anything the negative aspects have only gotten worse. The things that stood out the most to me between v0.021 and v1.0.49 were: The delays between new text seem like they've gotten worse. To me, one significant contributor to it was the random timing padding between text new lines which does nothing for gameplay. If I advance dialogue with a mouse click, but then am forced to feel that delay before the next dialogue, it defeated the purpose of even being able to click to advance the text in the first place. It only highlighted the problem even more. To me, personally, my impression of the story's dialogue was that it read as a poorly translated Chinese novel. Not that there's bad grammar or bad English, just that it came off as translationese or "Chinglish"... accurate but unnatural English that retained the original structure and idioms. I've watched and read plenty of Chinese/Japanese/HK/Korean Tv and Movies that fall into the genre and even being fluent in the genre, the story was still came off as a poorly translated novel. The game's performance has decreased significantly since v0.021. Transition times from scene to scene are painful to the point the game becomes unresponsive at points. For a VN with minimal mini-games, there is no excuse for this. Positives Mini Games are skippable. While I didn't devote much time to the mini-games, they are much better than those you'll find in ren'py and offer the option to skip them (for those not-interested). I played through them once each, but didn't want to devote more time to them so this option was appreciated greatly. Artwork still is my main positive for this game. It's the perfect example of how you should use AI art. My advice: Improve performance & Tweak dialogue timings Switch from synchronous SceneManager.LoadScene() to asynchronous LoadSceneAsync() aka -> Stop freezing the game while loading a new scene. Load it in the background instead. Preload the next scene in the background with allowSceneActivation = false Quietly load the next scene early, but don’t switch to it yet, just activate it instantly later when needed. Tag big files so Unity only loads them right when the game actually needs them, not all at once. Turn background images into load-on-demand files that come in smoothly during gameplay without stalling. Mark scenes and heavy assets as Addressables and load them on-demand. Convert all backgrounds to Addressables and load them asynchronously on-demand Start fetching the upcoming background (and scene if possible) ahead of time so it’s ready instantly. Be more aggressive with unloading unused assets after scene transitions. I can't say for sure, but I have a feeling the assets are native 4k without compression. Shrink the huge original high-res art files. Keep them looking good but use smaller versions that fit the actual screen size better. if the timing & performance were improved, I'd see this going from 2/5 to either 3 or 4 stars. --------------------- Original Review: 2/5 stars here for version 0.021 . My thoughts mirror Zorrscha mostly. Also for all the screenshots claim, the content for individual character characters mostly equates to a single AI generated image. While the visuals are great, the dialogue/choices aren't very engaging. They gave me the feeling of a Spoiler: lore dump Within the first few minutes of the game its: Here's 5000 words of text. I hope you read all of it, and fully digested it because here's an additional 6 dialogue choices that determine something (without any indication of what), so I hope you get lucky and choose the right thing. Game gives off the vibe of a pre-pre-pre-alpha. Very well could of been a plain text prologue with some images sprinkled here and there. I hope it gets better throughout development, however there's way too many projects that have focused on AI generated content that don't get anyway past their insanely early pre-alpha release. I want to like it because of the quality of the art, but version 0.021 gave me that impression.

Right so I gave it a go as somebody who is into femboys, and it provided me with little to no enjoyment. AI art prompts aren't very unique the dialogue feels almost AI generated itself and it could of done with more details in the genitalia/feet or a PS filter or laying effects to make it stand out amongst other ai projects. 1/5 for me, didn't find it my cup of tea.

There are so many gorgeous and beautiful waifus here! I wanna pick them all but now my heart belongs to Yi-Ling <3 The art style made me so happy, super good! Same with the voice acting — absolute pretty cool. Waitin' for more content, there are very few H-scenes at the moment... Art - 10/10 Narrative - 8/10 VA - 9/10 OST - 8/10 Girls - 10/10
