Heartache is Power is a 2D adult sandbox RPG made in RPG Maker by DeloreAndro, using 2DCG artwork. It presents a fantasy world where some beings can use Magick, a power that bends reality but lets other things slip through. You play a reckless swordsman whose childhood companion is his girlfriend, a spellcaster who often rescues him. After a succubus curses them with a lustful crest and an unremovable amulet, they seek help from Hagel, head priest of the Healer's Den. The story explores cheating, corruption, and netorare themes through choices and events.
The current build is v0.1.2, dated September 29, 2026, and it is an ongoing early release. It runs on Windows, is available in English, and is uncensored. The latest changelog records a minor bugfix, while v0.1 was the initial release.
Developer's description
Ever since living beings existed, some have always had the ability to bend reality to their will. They called it "Magick". However, with every door it opened, something else always slipped through. Spoiler You and your girlfriend have always been inseparable since childhood. Your sword swings, albeit reckless, is filled with heart. Your girlfriend's spells have been dragging you out of trouble for as long as you two can remember. Then something goes wrong, a succubus sends you both with two parting gifts: a crest that is carved into your girlfriend's skin that hungers for lust, and an amulet that cannot be removed, which shows you things that you can't explain. Between all of this lies the only man that can help with your curse, Hagel, head priest of the Healer's Den, who is wise, patient, and endlessly generous in his efforts. But you will learn in this story, that every cure has a price, and every scar has a purpose. You will know that the source of your greatest strength comes from how much you have to lose.
