About Heartbreak Detour
Heartbreak Detour is a Ren'Py visual novel by ParkedHearts, presented as the third episode of the Heart City Stories anthology. You play a male protagonist arriving in Heart City, a city shaped by arts and culture, hoping to confess to his crush. That plan goes wrong, and a chance meeting with a cheerful woman from his past draws him into city adventures, romance, difficult choices, and lessons about love. The game uses 2D CG scenes and standalone episodic storytelling, so prior entries Friendly Favours and Office Rivals are not required.
The current build is v0.1.02, released on October 2, 2026, and development is ongoing. It is available for Windows, Linux, and Mac in English, with no censorship. The latest update adds Chapter 1 Part 2, including new characters Hwozee, Zimo, and Gerry, new scenes, four new backgrounds, and a word count over 39,000. Earlier releases added the prologue and Chapter 1 Part 1, introducing Jared, Tomoe, Mizuki, and Sumire, bar conversations, Sooha dialogue, additional backgrounds, and new CGs.

About the VN and Anthology: Spoiler Heartbreak Detour is the third episode of Heart City Stories, an anthology of episodic standalone VNs chronicling the love, friendship, passion, and heartbreaks of various characters living in a city thriving in arts and culture, nicknamed Heart City. It is not necessary to play Friendly Favours and Office Rivals to follow the story of Heartbreak Detour.
