Version 0.7.3. VN Mode A game that is less than the sum of its parts, Life in Alphaville's main selling point is the thrice written dialogue for players who want pure love harem, NTR (not really*), or a middle ground. Moments of greatness shine through the tri-part structure but are undercut by the same system. Upon starting the player will be given the choice to set the game to Solo, Mixed, or NTR mode. Solo is uniformly uninteresting and cliche with vapid overly saccharine heroines who's lives were undoubtedly absolutely empty and meaningless until our MC descended to grace them with his cock. Other male characters rapidly excuse themselves from every scene and the heroines constantly decry them if acknowledging them at all. NTR* isn't netorare in the sense of being cheated upon but rather that the heroines are all massive sluts who have sex with other men. NTR enthusiasts will not find anything erotic here; a girl who the MC barely knows inviting a random man into her room which the player spies is not NTR. Non-NTR voyeurism and hotpast are undeserved fetishes in the porno game market so there are flashes of something worthwhile on this path but it is ultimately wasted when ALL the women are the same character with different appearances. The small thrill when a heroine almost directly stated that and her friends all had some exhibitionist desires was divine - up until the next character was the same. And the next. And the next. The element of interest generated by heroines being individual and actual characters with their own desires and histories was completely dashed and it became nearly as dull as the Solo path. Mixed would seem then to be the solution - it does offer the most variety in characterization. I cannot express how fantastic it is to have a porno VN in which the father character is alive, not evil or stupid or pathetic, and has great sex with his wife. At the same time what the author considers "too much" for the Mixed path doesn't always match mine; as such I used URM to manually shift between Mixed and NTR paths which provided the best scenes and character but not the best experience. The Mixed path also has some text that doesn't quite fit and is clearly vestigial from the Solo path. The writing isn't the greatest but fine for an indie porno slice of life. The sister character's distrust and dislike of the MC is completely reversed far, far too quickly. The sex scenes are very fast in happening in all three paths and are somewhat, though not egregiously, detached from story - characters should probably change a bit more; from what little I played of it even in Solo everyone is down for casual, no strings attached, hookups. (Which could be a writing plus from a certain point of view.) There is potential for friction between the established cliques but nothing in the game so far. The one scene I was most interested in (the best friend admitting he nailed MC's sister in the bathroom) isn't in the game yet and will likely disappoint since the accompanying scene (where said sister admits it, completely unprompted (has she no shame? and the MC admits he watched and she has no reaction?!) to the MC) was extremely lackluster. The choices are pretty terrible. Each heroine has three meters, Nice, Love, and Lust representing their relationship to the MC. As far as I recall the only value these have is unlocking bonus pictures in the gallery. Chief issue: pictures only unlock at a threshold of Lust OR Love - meaning the player is forced into choosing how they'll react to each girl and commit and choosing Nice is completely worthless. The author has clearly never read the many, many dissections of Bioware's binary choices forcing players to min/max their points regardless of the in-story situation - he really should. An easy solution is making the points cumulative toward unlocking but at that point why do the stats exist? Many choices are simply removed in the Solo and NTR routes, which is fine. If you enjoy slice-of-life, Koikatsu models and animations, and don't have anything more engaging to play it isn't a bad time at all. My search for a non-NTR, heavy NPCxNPC, slice of life, school set, character based, indie porno VN continues...

Well written from what I've seen. Offers significantly more for the player to do beyond most VNs giving at least the illusion of choice. Characters seem real enough personality-wise, and coming up with enough fluff to fill out the two hundred character requirement for a review is exhausting though I understand why it seems necessary.

It's a little rough around the edges, and honestly I am not a big fan of the sandbox mode, but I really enjoyed the non-sandbox mode - and the ability to choose paths with each different girl is great. Good stuff, enjoyed it.

As of the current version, this game feels like a project with real potential that’s held back by lack of polish and focus. The strongest part is clearly the visuals. Models, scenes, and animations are well done, and some interactions are genuinely impressive. A lot of effort obviously went into the presentation. Where things start to fall apart is structure and execution. The story has an interesting premise, but scenes often feel out of order or unfinished. In sandbox/solo modes especially, it can seem like content is missing or not triggering correctly. Multiple game modes exist, but they don’t differ much, and instead of adding variety, they make the experience feel fragmented. A big issue is the expectation of 18+ content. The game constantly hints at it, but in practice, those scenes are either very hard to find, disconnected from the narrative, or seemingly not implemented yet. This creates a sense that the game promises more than it currently delivers. On top of that, the mixed language in dialogue, choices, and UI (English and Portuguese) hurts immersion and makes the whole thing feel unpolished. Overall, not a bad game, but definitely a rough one. Worth checking out for the visuals and the idea behind it, but don’t expect a smooth, coherent experience just yet.

I seriously suspect the author works at a bank, for heaven's sake. I thought bank lending in real life was already excessive, but I didn't expect a "genius" like the author to come up with the idea of "loaning" game scenes. Every time I finish the game, I realize there are so many scenes I haven't unlocked, yet I can't trigger them no matter how many times I replay. I fell into deep self-doubt, only to find people on the forums saying those scenes haven't actually been made yet—they're just "future plans." Also, the bugs from before the reset are still there, and now there are even more. What exactly did you "reset"?

What can I say about this product? I feel deceived regarding the promised 18+ content. Initially, I tried playing in the standard VN-style mode. There were many hints about intimate scenes and their development in version 0.6.6 + Halloween Special, but I never encountered anything resembling an actual sex scene. Still, I wasn’t too upset and decided to try the solo mode, thinking maybe I was just missing something. The result was the same. In forum comments and reviews, people mentioned scenes from both the harem and deception routes. I thought maybe I was just unlucky and couldn’t trigger the harem scenes, so I tried hardcore mode. However, the only differences were a few extra lines of dialogue and some additional CGs—none of which contained actual adult content. Meanwhile, the forum claims that such scenes exist in the "Memories" section, but I never saw them. I played through all three modes in the sandbox, but the outcome remained unchanged. As far as I understand, unlocking these memories requires earning 60 lust or love points—but how? Alternatively, maybe the scenes are tied to future story updates, but I completed all available missions without unlocking anything. There was even a message about "unlocked dates," but no dates appeared. At this point, I felt thoroughly scammed. Turns out, the developer is some kind of genius who plans to add these scenes later. View attachment 4698192 Because, of course, players will happily replay the entire game in the next update just to see if anything was actually added. Now, about the game’s content: The story has potential, but the execution is lacking. The developer introduces plot points—like the protagonist meeting a friend at a restaurant—only to immediately abandon them. A girl says, "Come over to my place," but there’s no one at her home. The only character you really meet is schizophrenia. In short, it feels like the developer is rushing ahead to create future content without properly refining what’s already there. Whether they’ll ever fix this remains to be seen. If you’re considering playing this game, do it only for the janky storyline—there’s little else to justify it. The promised 18+ scenes are practically non-existent, appearing only as disconnected videos or images without any narrative context. If you’ve read this far (or endured this verbal diarrhea), congratulations—you might have just saved yourself from my fate. And if you found any issues with the grammar or phrasing, keep in mind that this comment was originally written in another language and translated via AI.

Did Sandbox solo because I like repeatable scenes. TBH not impressed. Story was chaotically out of order, and I'm pretty sure a ton of scenes were missing. Probably a better experience in story mode. Like the models as a whole. Didn't hate anything. Some decent options, but. Nothing overly solid either. Based on the amount of content, I feel like the dev has worked way too much on adding too many different game modes, and their attention has been overly divided by that. But. What do I know.

As of v0.60: So I actually enjoy this game. It's not too bad. But there are some things that force me to give it a 4 star instead of 5. Artwork/Animations - 5/5 So the artwork and animations for this game with the style used is good, and there are some good scenes available. The scenes are pretty interactive too, which is neat. No complaints here. Storyline/Dialogue - 4/5 I am curious to see where the story leads. I think I get the premise, but it's not quite far enough to tell. Looks interesting though. Now the reason I am giving it 4 stars is some of the choices and language in the game are in the dev's native language (I think it's Portuguese). While it's not game breaking, it is immersion breaking, and kind of lazy. Dev needs to pick a translation and stick with it, and change the whole thing to fit. Having a conversation in English and then the choices being Sim/Nao is just weird. Needs to be fixed. Gameplay/UI - 4/5 Relatively simple UI. At the beginning of the game, the devs ask what type of game you want (girls only for MC, sharing, etc.) and then I assume the upcoming dialogue accommodates so you don't accidentally pick an NTR choice (not 100% sure since I didn't try any other routes). Again, the reason I give it 4 stars is the constant breaks in language. Even some of the menu options in preferences are in Portuguese. Again, needs to be fixed. Overall, not a bad game, is worth playing. But the dev needs to tighten up and fix the dialogue and make it uniformly one language. If they want to do a Portuguese translation, great. Make that all the same language. Cheers. Radical Dreamer

Played version 0.6.0 and while this game has potential, it needs a lot of polishing. There's all sorts of untranslated buttons in the various menus and some of the dialog could use some improvement, but mainly it all just is a case of a non-english game developer that needs to get a native speaker to help with the translation. There's a bunch of characters, most of which are various girls. There's some good scenes but there's some parts that could use some improvements. I'm interested to see how this one develops though, so I'll have to check back for future updates.
