Are you ready to dive into a sexy, mysterious, and laughter-filled adventure? Monster City: A Monster College Story is an adult visual novel that blends humor, the supernatural, and a touch of mischief. Set in the same universe as Monster College, this spin-off puts you in the shoes of Adam Thorne, a young vampire… just a little different from the rest. Growing up with countless struggles due to his defective powers (and a complicated family), Adam is determined to carve out his own path in life. Between Alchemy lessons and Vampirology classes, he’ll find himself entangled in a world of mysteries, dangers, and irresistible girls. Unlike Monster College, this time you won’t be confined to Silverleaf University—the world expands to the nearby town of Silverwood, a seemingly ordinary place…but full of secrets and hidden monsters living among humans. Meet the girls of Monster City!

i love this game, and series. Its my favorite visual novel. The characters are super unique and perfectly fit all my wants and desires. I love the fantasy element as well. I have always been a fan of the sandbox and this game does it right. No tedious tasks or back and forths and lots of content to rewward all the clicking around

Models are solid and the H-Scenes are well animated. But holy fuck the people in the comments are right. You went off on a shitty direction with this games story and people involved. Every choice selection being a 50/50 sort of thing instead of having more definitive personality crafting choices, is BEYOND weak. Both MC's so far that you have created are really annoying or just stupid. There needs to be more behind them from the first moment we can choose something. Both are weak until "they find something" yea okay sure replay the exact thing as the first game sure yea... Both are incredibly stupid with women and get walked all over, yea sure cool, fucking retarded but yea okay. Both of them act like spineless wimps when turning down a slut or any girl. its always the awkward "uwu, i didnt mean it like that" attitude. Cant just tell someone to fuck off like you should be able to.

Such a hard game to rate because there's just so many small things going on that needle the player the wrong way. Or maybe I'm just being too sensitive So it's a sandbox game which will always divide opinion. Sandbox games only ever really get good once they're filled so unless you're willing to wait 3 years then you need to make do. In defence to the game it gives you the choice to not do sandbox, which is refreshing..... except in the same breathe it tells you that not playing it that way will prevent you from getting the full experience. So a choice but not a choice, not great. So we pick sandbox and go through the intro. As soon as the sandbox starts it asks if you want a tutorial, sure why not. Click yes. First message "haha really. do you seriously need a tutorial for a game like this? What a loser". How... edgy... well, I don't normally need a tutorial but given the dev has insisted on shitting out a sandbox game, here we are. So the tutorial finishes and I can now free roam. First action, click on the Social button on the My Hub menu "Now's not the time to sit at my computer". So a sandbox game.... with rails. Why do devs even bother with this nonsense. Ok let's go to school. Where's school? Not on the map. But there's an exclamation mark beside the gym. Maybe it's there. Nope. Ok random clicking, ah it's in the forest got it. So a sandbox on rails and not even good rails. The dev also seems to have the tendency to throw in random sounds for dramatic effect when someones talking, like a C note on the piano, or a kind of screech on a violin.... that gets old awfully quickly too. The game could have the absolute best renders with the saltiest animations and crispest dialogue in the world but it's just not fun to play. Which is... frustrating as the dev really tends to create good, diverse, interesting female characters. Although it doesn't seem to transfer to the male characters. I just... can't get a feel for the MC. the whole "vampire but not" seems a bit thin, I'm not sure how it's going to play out. If I'm playing a game with Monster in the title and interacting with monsters, I kinda would rather just be a "normal" vampire and deal with it. I think the game is pretty enough to warrant playing. If you liked the setting of the last one then you'll probably enjoy this.... eventually but the sandbox nature makes me feel this is a game I can ignore until it's finished then pick it up in a steam sale rather than jump in now. I'll come back and probably give this a glowing review, maybe in time it'll become something great but right now I think there are better options out there if I wanted a vampire/monster college type game.

As has been said in many reviews before mine, this game is a straight downgrade in every way from the previous one. The MC is a soy infused diet vampire that comes across as a flaccid wet noodle. The "play sandbox or you'll miss content" inherently means it's forced sandbox and it's all the worse for it, the sandbox nature kills all flow and makes it feel disjointed and wonky. This is personal taste, but I also feel like the LI's are less memorable and less appealing than the first game, with most of them being the bimbo cum-bucket types. Honestly I was excited for this second game when I first saw it, but now I've deleted it and moved on it's bad.

This is more of a me issue than anything but figured i'd put it down in words just incase anyone feels the same. I loved the first game. I love games with unique models and monster girls. This has some awesome looking girls and a hot muscle girl I love the look of. On paper it has most things I enjoy (I say most because it's male protag so no self insert with a hot muscle momma for this girl).... In practice it falls short. The sandbox just kills the flow of the story. I used to love sandbox games but my patience for them is worn thin. Some I still enjoy but mainly I just want to sit back, relax and enjoy a good story. I could overlook the sandbox but then there is the absolute weakest part of the story and the one I struggle with, the MC. The MC worked in the first game. I do have a harder time getting into male protag games but well written ones hook me and I love power fantasy regardless of gender (who doesn't love a badass). The first game had that badass, he was still awesome before the powerup. This one ........... not so much. If anyone here watched old UK cartoons, we used to have one in the 90's called Count Duckula about a vegetarian Vampire duck. This just reminds me of that. A Vampire that doesn't act like a Vampire and don't get me started on his look. I can't seem to muster enough to care about him. It sucks because the parts I have played and the character models for the girls are all great but then the sandbox kills the vibe and I can't seem to click with this MC. I've tried but nothing.

Pros: Excellent render , and use of ai and motion Straight fwd sandbox Interaction with female characters is fun Variety of female leads with diffeent personalities and bady design Great improvment in side characters compared to often mundane writing of its previous version. Great call backs to previous version and it explains neatly aboyt the change of cast so that one can enjoy it w/o burden of knwoing previus game Sandbox while feeling unnecessary, still does its job due to its staight fwd nature Cons: The power uphrade system is mid and just repeates on previous tropes It is newer game yet interactivity and writing during sex scenes is still underwhelming for a top title imo There is no sightbof overall goal. Stuck at Lyra path after she becomes visible Milf path is shown but not implementd lots of edging which leads to noting No optionto reply on social media post . It feels liek a late atlddition not unlike bad where interactivity is par of the game. It plays a part in tracking progress with fls but yeah overall underwhelming. 3.7/5 A game with lost of potention wity great renders and getting. Its basic right, while rightky building on the legacy of previous title.

The main issue of this game is a forced sandbox that you simply can't avoid if you want to watch all scenes from the gallery + LIs are great as usual + MC is likable + Continuation of the great story = Potential harem = Writing is OK, probably I'll update this later to mark like + or - depending of the plot - Unavoidable sandbox
Rekky99 2025-12-01
First of all : both Lis and other NPC are very well-designed , very immersive, probably top 5 all-time in avn for me. Dialogue is also pretty good (atleast for avn standard), but the plot just doesnt do it for me. Renders are good Animation is down-grade from the first game A sand-box that doesnt add anything also a downgrade The really questionable thing for me is : why do they feel the need to write Elissa the way she is ? they can write her in a a lot of different way and still can explore what they want to explore with her character. The first game was already a harem game and if you add shit like in the SEQUEL (not a direct sequel but still in the same universe with similar themes) your audience is not going to be happy. I'm not personally offended by this but even i was gagging when she kiss the MC I'm just baffled at how WRONG this writing decision is, is like the devs are trying to self-sabotage and alienating the core audience in a SEQUEL of their game.

Well! I loved his first game! But THIS is SHIT! Horrible sandbox ok you can choose not sandbox but you got no new content. Vampirwoman are fascist. The "Dragonlady" is a whore and disgusting! The older blond women is annoying and a turn off! Well... I like the Orc-Lady! An the She-Devil! Thats it. But why you make a sandbox? NOBODY likes it. And dont make a LI to a SPERMBOX! I like your work you have talent! But...

Game version: 0.8.1. While story-telling seems to be a forte of this dev, he doesn't seem to have improved at all in terms of animation quality- on the contrary, most of the scenes are MUCH worse than those in the predecessor! Which is a real shame, because this game is full of sex- and that's of course a good thing! You can still spot the end of each loop, the scenes still lack different angles (which is VERY bad, as most scenes will only feature a very limited and bad angle (like macro-focus on a booty), in which you will miss many details..). To make things worse, most scenes have an animation-still image-ratio of 2/5, just as if the dev wanted to save time/ resources (especially compared to Monster College!!). The Story is entertaining and the script it well written. The humor is never exaggerated or cringe- a rare sight. The progression makes sense, the MC is likeable (he even is some kind of anti-hero, doesn't like the spotlight and isn't overpowered right from the start), the LIs and other male NPCs are interesting. TLDR; Great script, bad animations.

I normally don't write reviews based on other reviews, but I needed to in this case because I feel as though the other ratings are too cynical and unfair. People keep comparing this to the author's other work. While I understand the urge to do that, I think it's causing people to ignore what this game has to offer as a standalone project. This game is aesthetically very nice. The renders are great, but it goes beyond that. The shot composition from the very first scene is fantastic. The characters are also cool. Nox is my favorite (but that could be my bias because I like orc girls) . But other girls like Valeria the Dullahan have very distinct and interesting personalities. The only exception would be Elissa who is just your standard OF chick character. The MC gets a lot of hate, but I actually appreciate the fact that hes neither an arrogant edgelord that acts like a jerk, or is a whiny pushover beta that lets girls punch him in the face and apologize to them after (Im referring to another game whose title I wont mention). I like that hes a vampire that seems insecure about himself but not to the point that its annoying. The only thing I hate about the game is the free roam. I only have it enabled because you can miss stuff if you have it disabled. Under normal circumstances, I would rate this a 4, but because I think the rating is far too low for what it offers, Im giving it a 5 to help balance out this unfair score.

Honestly, I really enjoyed the game, but there 2 quests I can't even do because they seem to be bugged, one of them is for the Nox MMA event, which won't start at all, and also the MMA shower event. Everything else has worked, but those 2 quests/events i really hope the next update fixes them, but besides that, honestly, it's pretty good.
FineUser123 2025-09-09
Major downgrade from the previous game. The writing, characters, and overall story became way worse. And the game has game-breaking bugs. MC here is an insufferable beta loser. One of the forced LIs is so much garbage of a woman that I even IRL wouldn't stick my dick in her if, to get her pussy, I were supposed to simp to her, deal with her BS, and respect her poor life choices. So that's it: disappointment and wasted time. I can't believe the Monster College dev created it.
TheAnkh 2025-09-08
So far the writing is excellent and captivating. I rarely find games that I don't skip through all the pointless dialog and ahh oohs on the sex scenes, this one though, even the sex scenes have interesting dialogue and witty banter. The renders are top notch. The animation is a little lacking, but there are some very nice ones here and there. Edit: I have not played Monster College, I found this creator via this game, but I can say I have already downloaded it and might consider scrapping this playthrough to give Monster College a shot first.
Unsung Martyr 2025-09-06
This just doesn’t hold a candle to the previous game. The main character feels less engaging and doesn’t have the same depth, strength, or charm, which makes it harder to stay invested in his journey. The love interests also fall flat compared to the last game, they lack the complexity and memorable personalities that made the previous cast so compelling. On top of that, the story itself isn’t nearly as strong; it feels less immersive, with weaker pacing and fewer emotional highs. Overall, it comes across as a step backward rather than an evolution of what made the first game so great.
doc-jones 2025-07-17
Not liking the sandbox change, or rather, losing out on content if you don't pick sandbox mode, that being said, it does allow players to prioritize certain LI's more, and you can skip others this way, so I won't knock it too much. I like the story so far, it's a solid continuation, and Dagomira being Headmistress is a funny twist. That being said, I usually name the MCs after myself, and while I could have also named this MC after myself, the last MC has that name, so I figured I'd go with something different. It's a cool continuation, but also flawed in that respect if you want to self-insert. It's good, it's nice to see the author continue in this world they established and I look forward to more, although I will say I still prefer the original's pacing because it wasn't sandbox. Also, maybe I'm stupid, but I did find it slightly annoying that I had to go back home to check my laptop to see my tasks. I think a phone option would solve that bit of tedium.

The MC is incredibly lame in this game, compared to the first one.. Incredibly weak and Beta. The renders are excellent as usual, and it deseves at least 1 star for it, but everything else is ass. Gameplay and choices are ass. It is the fake sandbox kind of game were the sandbox just exists to waste player time and not add any gameplay element. The dev added a linear mod, but half the scenes are missing from it, so I don't understand the point other than to piss off the players.
_Mr.X_ 2025-04-04
Loved the previous one. This one's got a great start as well. Hope it ends well and doesn't have a rushed ending like the last one. Good to see some familiar characters in there. Hope to see some more in the future.
Raff2000 2025-04-03
I'll be honest I did not play the sandbox (I hate them) and was really disappointed seeing it but after playing the story mode I cannot give any lesser rating everything was so hyped looked even better then monster college in my opinion. Cannot wait for next updates, I might even try the sandbox eventually I guess it is not that bad based on other comments.
