Remake of Nightmare Mansion Have you heard of the urban legend about "nightmares"? Women fall into a coma after sleeping at night and remain unconscious, even tough no underlying causes can be found. It seems these women are having nightmares. The protagonist, Kuroki Sana, and her best friend, Ujimiya Tomo, are struck by a nightmare one day, and when they come to, they find themselves in an unfamiliar place. And they still don't know. They are currently trapped in a prison of despair with no escape...

It's bad. Gave this game about 20 minutes and I honestly can't see myself suffering through the junk any further. The game is stuttering constantly. It stutters when you open and close the menu. It stutters when you switch from walking to running and vise versa. It stutters after you interact with things. That alone would already be a deal breaker for a sidescroller horror game in my book, but then there's also the fact that every interaction with the environment needs to be pixel perfect with the character facing exactly right. Getting away from any enemy chasing you becomes a proper pain in the ass with a setup like that. And even more than that, you can and absolutely will get caught while transitioning between rooms. An enemy can just spawn on top of your ass even before the game has loaded the room you've entered. Yeah, no, fuck that. I don't care how good the pixel art and animations here might be. I don't care how good the story or puzzles here mgith be, either. This game is fundamentally unplayable at its very core. Probaby needed to give it another three years of development. Or a developer who knows what the fuck they're actually doing.

I went at this for a few hours, and all I've gotten are bugs, lag, and an constant interruptions from those shadow creatures. The gameplay is horrifically slow, and the amount of back and forth you have to accomplish is, fittingly, nightmarish. The porn is okay, but I wouldn't call it worth the time unless you really like the artstyle. The girls are cute, but theres barely any attention payed to their expressions, and there seems to be exactly 2 types of moans that get repeated throughout every single scene, leaving it as more tiring than hot.

While the art is amazing I have to give this game a few critics. Especially for its absurd difficulty in terms of memorizing codes, figuring out not 1 not 2 not 3 but FOUR mazes, Thinking out of the box for some puzzles, while those in the Sana part weren't too hard those in the tomo part are next level difficulty for a porn game. Since there is no other way other than to mash buttons near any sprite to see if they are interactable or not. Thank god I have above average intelligence to figure these puzzles out, I have genuinely no idea how the average gooner is supposed to beat this game. The gamebreaking bugs about the enemies touching you while switching zones, going to zones that you're not yet supposed to be in (again, tomo part) easily being able to softlock you i if you make 2 consecutive mistakes (going back to the mansion before picking up the key in the quadruple maze) or the inability to switch zones don't help either. It doesn't help either that enemies can spawncamp you on closets, literally spawn on top of you and have seemingly random spawn timers can be frustrating especially when you want to quickly go from one zone to another. Visual and sound cues for enemy presence aren't always working, giving you a false sense of security. While harsh on the gameplay, the art, is supreme for pixelart. Genuinely impressed by the contrast of gameplay and art. Also shoutout to sas2000as for providing a save folder of the finished game, I tip my gooner hat to you, loyal servant of the gooner kingdom.
