Chapter 5 Public Release
Alright! The free release is here. There has been some further corrections to spelling and a path trigger that didn't engage. I'm hoping all issues have been fixed now. Thanks to wibble, jufot, DogCat and LuckySpices for catching some mistakes...yes, even I make mistakes, but it's clearly not that often Alright, it's not that uncommon, but I will deny it all if asked.
Saves are broken. They may appear to work, but you might miss content if you don't start over. It'll take a few minutes to skip through to the new chapter. Hopefully not a deal breaker. It will also ensure that the replay album works correctly.

Better than i thought it would be. Despite a few flaws it's entertaining enough to recommend. The one major flaw is the writing, odd sentence structure, grammar mistakes, but it gets better in later chapters. Overall the writing is nice, no unnecessarily long yapping, despite grammar mistakes it was easy enough to read, and English isn't even my native language. Doesn't feel like a slog, didn't feel the urge to hold Ctrl down, nothing else to say. Render quality is alright, not great, just good enough. Some sexual content here and there, the animations suck tho, which doesn't bother me so i won't complain. MC is bit of a dumbass at times, but overall he is great, has a personality, a sense of humor, doesn't look like a fucking bum, not a pushover nor a simp, he even has a nice haircut holy shit. The girls are fine looking, maybe a bit much with photomodel looks (like det. Turis), but body type variety isn't great. They all are fit AF, big but not too big tits, not much else. I like this body type so, again, not complaining. Relationship progression vary, some girls are easier than others, some behave like whores, some like to go on a date first before anything. Either way, it's not just that or the other, which is good. The main thing is not to take the game too seriously, as some of the characters talk like it's a modern day setting, you can spot some inconsistencies, unsure if clothing fashion fits the setting. If you don't mind all that - give it a try. If you're a huge nerd and something like this sets your ass on fire - better not.
Was very impressed. High quality in the character design/drawing, beautiful ladies, all of them. The storyline is interesting, out of the end of the 60ties of the last century, not the high school, college story again. What I really appreciate the most is the written story, the communication between the characters. The best I have seen for a long time, close to a written novel. Do not remember to have seen in any AVN such fine wording/communication between the characters. Really looking forward to the next chapters.
I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this one, it's likable enough but also has some odd quirks. The renders are the biggest draw. A good variety of very attractive women who - critically - look very different from the standard Ren'Py cast. The writing is mostly serviceable, if nothing special. None of the characters have especially memorable personalities, but they also aren't annoying or grating which is a pretty big plus. For example Visual Novel MCs all too often end up being lame and wimpy, stupidly perverted, overly edgy, incels, tryhard would-be comedians that aren't actually funny, perfect gary stus who can do no wrong, or some combination of the above. I'm pleased to say that the MC here is none of those (he does have a somewhat traumatic backstory because of course he does, but at least he doesn't quite cross the line into brooding edgelord territory). Similarly the women are for the most part acceptable, if perhaps a little too quick to try and sleep with the MC after meeting. All that said this is a story that is best not taken too seriously. There's all kinds of just...odd things both in the actual story and in how it's composed that keep me from getting too immersed in it and keep it from being better. Weird pacing in some scenes, characters saying or doing things that just don't feel very believable, the female characters saying, acting, or dressing inexplicably sexy for no reason at weird times, that kind of thing. The setting is also super inconsistent, characters talk and dress pretty modern, but the MC's backstory clearly implies he's supposed to be a Vietnam veteran, but then the actual flashbacks show a weird mixture of WWII weaponry and uniforms with more recent stuff like helicopters, and then the technology used at home is more like 20s and 30s, with old-school telephones and radios instead of TV, and then...well you get the idea. It's not that big of a deal, it's just kind of weird. None of this oddness quite crosses the line into full cringy "I can't make myself continue this" but it does have me scratching my head. Anyway, my take away is that this is a story that is fun and sexy if a little silly and hard to take seriously. But honestly, as long as you go into it with that expectation it's perfectly fine. While it's awesome when a Being a Dik or Artemis or something of that level comes along with genuinely great writing and story, sometimes all you need is good looking smut that doesn't make you cringe. And this has you covered there.
Funny, well written, smooth, and classy. The main cast is incredible, you learn more and more about them each time they're talked about, the actual story is great as well, and the game does the whole "Witty Private investigator" Shtick really well.
THIS. THIS!!!! All you fucking frauds. This is what a real quality game looks like. Best renders I have seen in any game ever. Not in terms of raw quality, pixel count, fidelity. But compositon. This fella knows how to compose an image. And how to write fun characters and sexy scenarios. Such a great vibe and atmosphere. Fun and playfully sleazy without feeling like you are in the head of an incel. Like how a distressing number of games on this site makes me feel. I am just blown away. Watch what this dev does next because they have that god given talent.
CH5 Well, I have to say I was blown away by this AVN and I congratulate the developer for: his sense of story; his theme, the overall ergonomics, the fluidity and the incredible beauty of the characters (of which Gabrielle is my favorite). Big special mention for the very very very well-balanced and varied humor. Our MC could have become a real one... but phew, he's progressing in the right direction by avoiding becoming an idiot. Beautiful maturity of realization for these points mentioned previously because this is rare enough to deserve mention and praise. There are still many developments to be made, but there are also enormous possibilities to explore or experiment with: mini boxing games, mini Sherlock Holmes-style deduction games, developing the dominant side, strength, deduction, charm... There are some stability issues, as I experienced a few crashes or errors starting in the middle of Chapter 5. Not everything is perfect, as you can tell the developer had to work with limited graphical bases for the costumes and sets, but the overall vision is excellent. So yes, there could be a short prologue later to better set the AVN story. Like some others, I obviously noticed that some elements didn't quite fit. A World War II military outfit, M1 rifles... in short, a few details here in the images and texts suggest that the period in which the AVN is set would rather be the Korean War, but nothing is certain because the developer gives the impression of drifting between the Second World War and Vietnam (especially with the reference to the Huey helicopter), so indeed, a trick should be found in a future prologue (the women's outfits don't fit with the timeframe). Quick question: are the relationships with the girls a one-track street, or is there an alternative possibility? We normally know that a private investigator (like Mike Hammer) is not a one-woman man, and it would be good to know where we're going. And there are a little too few adult scenes! Finally, I'll end by saying that this AVN is much more than a pleasant surprise, and I sincerely hope to see it develop far into the future, including new adventures. It's truly a TOP 5 album of the year, with its overall positive attitude. Well done, it's good to see that! For that, I'm giving it a 5/5, even though it's not finished yet.
Nice and Decent game, well made models too , Mafia games are always nice as long as they include what we can't have in real life , I really hope it's gonna have harem element, many people don't understand the depth of it the challenges of dealing jealous and competition between it member's it's not sweet and it really needs a good writer I like all The Girls specially Natasha, each member can play a role in mc life and mission
A real (and kinda hidden) gem of an AVN. Loving the noir concept and the ambiance of it. It's nice to have a story that does not have the usual tropes. The graphics are great and the LIs are very hot and varied. The MC is loveable goof but that's his charm and you're easily rooting for him. Really fun AVN. Recommended.
I'm kinda torn on this. The big issue with me is that I'm of two minds: I love the concept, but because of that, I have far more problems with it. So the good, as previously mentioned, is the concept. A private investigator where we follow a mystery is fun. There's a big gap between the first two chapters, and the next two chapters, which I consider a positive because it shows improvement. The visuals and writing both improve from 1 & 2 to 3 & 4. However, I got issues with the world feeling kinda half-assed. If you're going to set it in a specific period, it'd be good to actually...build a world in that period. The fact that there's a bunch of women in important jobs? The dialogue and way they talk? The actual detective work? Even down to the actual style and clothing. There's just...a lot that you end up noticing. And the thing is, the issues aren't major, but they're the kinda thing where when you notice it once, you notice it over and over and over again. An example of this is that while the game APPEARS to be influenced by detective noir films, which are generally from the 40s-50s, but the main character is a veteran of the Vietnam War, which America properly entered in the 60s. Then there's a character called Sam, who's a father figure for the MC, who apparently seems to have no experience in war? So a seemingly middle-aged man apparently has no combat experience, having been draft age and physically fit. Then in Chapter 4, the MC uses a phone from the 1920s! Another clear indicator is the aforementioned gender roles. In the AVN we have a female mayor, two female detectives, and two female boxers. Keep in mind, the first EVER all-female boxing show in the US was in 1979. Meanwhile, they're walking around in booty shorts and crop tops, modern modern cocktail dresses, designs that literally didn't exist in the period. This is the big issue, there's no concise world being made, so I don't believe in it. It feels like an AVN which WANTS to be post-WWII, and that would be interesting! Maybe seeing some Russians involved, former Nazi-sympathisers, immigrants from the war. The dev wants me to take the world seriously, but I can't because it doesn't work on it's own. Another issue is the writing. As I previously mentioned, the first 2 chapters are worse. The writing in particular is rough. The MC is an idiot and has zero clue what he's doing. You'd think a man who hid from the Viet Cong would have any sort of observational skills. He speaks very literally and without much nuance, and most characters in the story will include awkward dialogue or just be very blunt. Chapter 4 is certainly a marked improvement, but ultimately the characters don't really get any better. Honestly, one of the only ones I properly like is Carl, because he actually has a personality. Every woman is basically just snarky and sarcastic, there's nothing else there. I mean I love archetypes, but when every single character plays the seductress/femme fatale, it's boring. Ultimately, I think it'll get better, so I'll likely change my review, but there's too much grating me to offer more than a 6/10.
This is a real gem of a game so far. Love the setting and I've always been a sucker for detective noirs. I like the grounding of the setting taking place around the early Vietnam War 60's (accounting for the M1 Garands). I feel it should have been set earlier like after WWII or Korea to better fit the actual design motifs used in the game, but we're nitpicking at that point. Great work and eager to see where the story goes!
This is surprisingly good. It's a film noir (think Maltese Falcon) set sometime in the 1960s or very early 70s but with a modern sensibility toward race and gender. The mashup works well, in part because the timeframe is not emphasized. It appears the developer made an intentional choice to blur the era. Playing with the timeline seems like a smart move for an adult VN as it allows the developer to include a greater variety of love interests than a purely historical approach would realistically accommodate and reduces the need to stick with period appropriate apparel and objects. Like most film noir, the MC is a man's man : a former boxer that doesn't have to take shit from anyone. He's less certain of himself with the ladies, presumably because he has recently returned from Spoiler the Vietnam War. You don't get much experience with romance in a warzone. The mystery is actually interesting. The immediate investigation seems simple, but it also appears to be part of a larger conspiracy. Regarding the ladies, there are plenty of hotties to choose from, including the obligatory femme fatale. Unfortunately, it's a slow burn with most of them at this point. The renders are very nice, the animation is okay. It's worthy of five stars and I'm very much looking forward to more. Review is for V0.4.
I would say that some of the outfits don't quite fit in with the period (I guess the 30s). That's the only criticism I could make. From my point of view, it's a great game with a lot of atmosphere. The story texts are also really good for me. I'm really looking forward to the sequel ....
Review for V0.3 "Pecker PI" stands out with a very unique story that sets it apart from other games in the genre. The plot has an intriguing premise that initially draws you in. One thing that stood out to me was the inconsistency in clothing and interactions relative to the time and setting of the story. Some outfits just don't fit the period, and certain interactions feel out of place, breaking the immersion. The graphics in "Pecker PI" are average. They're not bad, but they don't particularly stand out either. They do the job but don't add much to the overall experience. Another issue is the unrealistic forwardness of some of the female characters. Their behavior and the dialogue in these moments often don't make sense, making it hard to stay engaged with the story. It feels forced and detracts from the narrative flow. Conclusion Overall, "Pecker PI" has a unique and interesting story, but it falls short in several areas. The inconsistent clothing and interactions, average graphics, and unrealistic forwardness of some characters all detract from what could be a much better game. There's potential here, but it needs more polish and coherence to fully realize it.
The kid has moxie. I appreciate the setting and there's the foundations of something good here, but it needs a good deal more polish in the writing department before I can throw my considerable weight behind a wholehearted recommendation.
MrPocketRocket You have created something truly amazing, marvelous and beyond praise. Since very long time I was wanting a game like this that matches my niche., this is something i've always wanted. more mystery games please. best of luck
One of the most promising AVNs in development right now for me and here is why: - charming detective noir theme (somewhat reminiscent of Phillip Marlowe books or Tex Murphy), fitting music, good athmosphere - hand in hand with the previous point is, of course, sense of humour and sarcasm. There is effort (and for my sensibilities largely successful) to make even what would normally be mundane narration an entertaining and enjoyable read. - story and characters are just getting started, but plenty of potential - MC who doesn't take himself seriously and actually pulls it off decently IMHO - if you're in it just for the scenes, you should probably look elsewhere (at least at this point - v0.3) Eagerly awaiting the next update..
I really like the setting and the idea behind it. The main character and those around him don't seem generic and appear really charismatic or dubious and they look good, too. Also it is comfortable for me to play as this MC, he doesn't look ridiculous or out of place.
ONE OF THE BEST OUT THERE! GREAT STORYLINE, PLOT, TWISTS, CHARACTERS, HUMOUR! Feels like you are living the character of some mysterious novel. The Sherlock Holmes theme added is really good. What is the best part is it is a perfect blend of all the great things: intimacy, humour, theme, storyline, everything! LOVED IT!!!
The dialogue is generally quite good. It fits the setting of the game perfectly, and I love noirs/neo-noirs, so it is right up my alley. The plotting could use some work. Some scenes really could use a bit more time to breath. The party the MC attends is one. There was a lot of opportunity to potentially talk to different characters and flesh the world out a bit, but it was just a quick overview, one convo, an unskippable handjob and that was it. Overall some scenes are a bit too quick, and others are unnecessary. The overall visual quality is fine. Some positives and some negatives. I generally like the characters. There are the classic noir-tropes represented, along with some others. The one boxing girl was a bit inconsistent though. She hates us, then we go for dinner and she's playful, and then 5 slides later hates us again. I like the friends sister, and hope we get to see more of the crime bosses daughter as well, that is always a fun trope. Overall had fun with it. It's lighthearted and has a lot of potential, but not super polished.
Based on 0.3 There is forced sex content, both: not involving MC and involving MC. To make it worse, you're at party with one of girls you're interested in and you can't refuse handjob from some other NPC. What a refined gentleman we play as, indeed. When it comes to characters, MC ic cliche 13 years old horny kiddo in adult body - "i'd like to fuck", "wish I stick my cock into her" etc kind of thoughts. Other than that, writing is not utterly bad, but not great either. Story might be even interesting, if it wasn't ruined by unfortunate events mentioned above. When it comes to visuals, some of the models looks really nice and appealing, and that's might be the only strong positive thing about this game. If you don't mind playing mandatory sex-fest, than go for it, otherwise stay away,
