Ripples is a sci-fi visual novel that centers around an 18-year-old in his last year of high school. He reunites with his good friend Darci and sets off to school like any other day, but as the day goes on, he learns new information about his deceased father that has him questioning the truth about his death.

Starting with version 0.8, the developer has really messed up the animations, thanks. Now it's unplayable on PowerVR, as every scene lags like crazy, even GL2_on doesn't help. Of course, I'm not going to buy a PC just for one game. I play everything on Android. So, my rating is in line with the lag. It's a shame, because it was a fantastic game from the very beginning, one of my favorites, and I'm incredibly disappointed.

The renders are nice but the dialogs are pure virgin teenagers talk. I know it's a porn game but cmon, the game starts with a old friend dirty talk and asking to practice kissing. For real? There's no way to get more lame then this. But I can't deny the characters looks pretty good.

The game is a very enjoyable experience so far. Looks like it takes a lot of inspiration from the show "Dark". The graphics are high quality and it's evident that a lot of work and care went into creating the finished product. Unfortunately, with 8 episodes done in around 6 years, the prospect of the game ever being completely finished with a satisfying conclusion, on par in quality with the rest of game, looks incredibly bleak. In my opinion less than half of the game is done so far. Given that a lot of the enjoyment from the game, at least for me, comes from a well-told, cohesive and immersive story, a rushed conclusion would certainly take away a lot from the experience. Also, without going too much into spoilers, tv show's ending doesn't fit a wholesome harem porn game, so that's another worry. TL;DR: the game has a lot of high quality content, but is farm from being finished.

The animation, the story, the scenes, everything makes it so unique, it has its own personal stamp and also doesn't fall into blue balls, the game rewards you and knows how to keep you hooked without overwhelming you with content but also doesn't just tease you and that's it. 100% recommended

Just really good. Yeah, has some kinda corny aspects you'd usually find in this kind of thing (boy the ladies sure love our main character!), but they're done lovingly, and it's all too amazing to matter. Like, would it be better if we had to wait way longer for sex scenes? I think not. Beautiful girls with actual personalities and a variety of distinct bodies. Cool time travel plot (don't think too hard about it). Incredible animation, top of the line. Pacing and mood is great, like watching a prestige TV show. Not too meme-y or winking at the audience too much, but also not too over-the-top serious. Almost took a star off because when you get with that hot thick goth babe upstairs at the party in episode 8, you can't do it from behind (just kidding...or...?)

Very high quality work. Artwork is very good, story is engaging, and characters don't all look like they have the same face. Hopefully this one eventually gets finished, because it's one of my favorites.

This is my favorite AVN. The story, the characters the 90s stuff, all of it is top notch. But I want to highlight one thing that Jestur did that I do not see many AVN writers doing, especially with most of the top rated ones; the variety in the girls. Nearly every major AVN has a cast of girls that are more or less the same. Big tits, wide hips, thicc jiggly ass. Just changing the hair colors/styles and outfits. Jestur went the extra mile and included tiny spinners (which was dominant in the 90's) who are like 90lbs with A cups, slender girl next door types with small butts and B cups, the more typical D cups with a big ass that we get in every other game, and even a few women who are genuinely 'big'. There's something in here for everyone. If you like a particular body style, breast size, ass size, height, weight, etc there is almost certainly a girl in this AVN that you'll think is peak, and that unfortunately cannot be said for nearly every other AVN out there. So props to him for not just including one style he finds attractive and just including a dozen of them with different colored hair and outfits. Most AVN devs could learn a lesson from Ripples on that. As for the rest of the game, I enjoyed this AVN the most. Even more than Eternum honestly. The characters are fun and likeable, even the ice queen bitch has more to her under the surface that I'm curious to learn more about. This is the only AVN I've played where I found myself thinking about the characters days after playing, and not even just the sex stuff. Like Skylar and Darci and Alyssa are just really fun and well written and I found myself attracted to them even completely separate from their character models or lewd scenes. They're genuinely endearing, and there's at least a dozen more that are almost as memorable and engaging. This game has a big cast of girls, and pretty much every one of them was fun and interesting and had story and character beats that made me care about seeing what they said next or what their relationship with the MC has in store, not even considering the lewd scenes. You could remove the actual sex from this entirely and replace it all with 'fade to black' transitions, and the characters would still be just as fun and memorable. I also really appreciate the attention to detail with the 90s stuff. As someone who was that age at that time, there are a lot of references and details in here that made it feel alive and real and not just a parody. Like having the cell phone distort the car stereo a few seconds before the call came through. That was a sound I haven't heard in 20 years, but the second I heard it in the game I immediately knew what it was and that someone was about to get a call. Stuff like that was a lot of fun, and Jestur has a great eye for detail and believability. Even in an otherwise fantastical sci-fi story with an equally fantastical '20 hot women all want to fuck you' premise, the character beats and settings themselves make each one actually feel possible and real.

This game is genuinely frustrating. I don't think I've ever cringed so hard playing AVN in a long time. I've had to pause multiple times just to collect myself and question why I'm still here. Anyway, onto the review. Story: Feels like something you'd make up in the shower when you're enjoying the flow of the water ( I hope I am not the only one who daydreams while enjoying the hot water hit their back... ) . It's random as hell. What was even the purpose of the 'shit ninja'? That whole sequence felt like the dev had a fever dream and decided it was canon. There's no cohesion, just a series of "wouldn't it be crazy if..." moments strung together. Writing : Does the dev go outside and interact with people at all... or has he ever interacted with anyone? I shit you not, there's nothing more to say about the writing than that. Every conversation reads like someone who learned human interaction from anime and porn scripts. The grammar is decent, but it does not save the awful writing. It's all painfully on-the-nose or awkward attempts at flirting that make me want to crawl out of my skin. MC: Actually not the worst protagonist out there, I'll give him that. He's not actively insufferable, which is... something. Some conversations feel like you're reassuring an alcoholic that it's okay to drink once in a while. "You don't need to show me your boobs." "But I want to." "Only if you're comfortable with it." Like, dude, we get it -- you're a "nice guy" who respects boundaries. Except the boundaries don't exist because every woman throws themselves at you anyway, so what's the point of this performative consent dance? Other than these cringe-worthy moments, he's a pretty average dude with a magnetar penis attracting every woman within a five-mile radius. At least he's not a complete asshole or a spineless doormat, so he lands somewhere in the middle. Characters: As I mentioned in the writing section, they don't talk or behave like you'd expect actual human beings to act. Everyone jumps at him nearly on first sight. They're all conveniently sexually experienced and eager. "Oh, we just met five minutes ago? Let me immediately proposition you in the most forward way possible." Like Scarlett just deciding to make out with you in public because... her boyfriend made some skank in the hallway? It's like everyone in this universe is perpetually horny... However -- and this is what keeps this score from being a complete zero; outside of that wildly unrealistic behavior, most characters are rather fleshed out. Graphics : The one and only saving grace of this game -- the visuals. For being Honey Select, it's done very well. I am no expert in the scene composition, but from my inexperienced ass, I can say that it looks good. The animations are smooth and actually look good, which is rare. The character designs are solid too. Honestly, there's not much to critique here except that some girls have foreheads the size of a runway (see Darci--girl could land a 747 on that thing). But that's nitpicking. The dev clearly knows what they're doing visually, and it shows. Overall : I'm honestly conflicted about this game. I've dropped it multiple times from the sheer amount of cringe, closing it out in frustration and swearing I'm done. And yet I kept coming back, mostly because of the unanimous hype around it, hoping it gets better (which I still don't understand at all). Everyone raves about this game like it's the second coming, and I'm sitting here wondering if we played the same thing. Is the game's quality higher than most on this site? Abso-fuck-lutely. The production value is there. I can see the effort put into it -- the renders, the animations, the character models. There's clearly talent and work behind this. That, and the visuals, are the only reasons I'm giving this 2/5 instead of 1/5 ( That also feels cruel and undeserving). But polish can't save a fundamentally flawed experience.

This is my favorite game. I've played it multiple times now. Almost all the girls are someone I'd be interested in. Alas, they're not real. But I can pretend... One more time. Also this review has to be longer so I'll just say the graphics are just fine and dandy and the writing is pretty good if you're into that. I sometimes hold skip until I get to the good stuff lol. Then again, I have played this more than once. Wish more devs could bring this level of quality to their projects.

Hands down one of the best games I've ever played. The tech accuracy is just icing on the cake. You won't be disappointed. The storyline is something you would find in a good Netflix movie. The visuals are detailed and synced very well with the audio.

This is a must play game. The graphics, physics, characters, plot are all A+. This is one of those games that spoils you from enjoying a lot of the other good options available. I can't think of a single negative to this game.

One of the rare jewels with good graphics AND a real gripping storyline that compels one to continue to play even after rubbing one out, because, well it's just that well written. S8 was a bit of a letdown for me personally, as, due to the tit fest (as opposed to a sausage fest) the story itself didn'T progress too much. Hey, I told you, I play this one for the story.

Love to bits the writing, characters and plot of this game. Frankly time-travelling mixed with porn is a thing you don't see everyday, and it works perfectly! But sadly, I cannot consider it a masterpiece. It lacks something that lots of people are going to critizice me for pointing it out: realism. Not realism in the way that the time-travelling machine is not physically accurate, or that arcade saloons didn't have Pac-Man in the 90's, is the realism of the relationships of the game. The MC almost instantly gets the affection of the girls and all the LI's just basically throw her panties at his face the first minute of gameplay. I know that this is an AVN and has to have porn (in fact, the scenes are simply WOW, I have never seen such realism on any Ren'Py VN), but feels kinda sad that this story, with such a great ambiance, lacks this realism on such an important bit of the game. Overall for me it's an easy 8,75/10, the game is amazing on every other aspect and I reccomend everybody reading this to play it.

Honestly, this game is an easy top 5 of all time. It's charming, interesting and has lots of content. WRITING - ( 5 of 5) : The writing is great with funny dialogue and enough exposition to understand the characters without handholding the audience. MC - ( 4.5 of 5) : The MC is a pretty regular guy, which is a rare thing in this genre. He isn't a gigachad but is charming and attractive enough to believably get some women's attention. PLOT -( 5 of 5 ): I honestly love the plot of this game. The time travel component is well done and adds a lot of opportunity for H content while also providing background info and character development. ROMANCE - ( 4.5 of 5 ): The lewd content in this game is incorporated pretty well. The characters aren't immediately throwing themself at the MC and most of the interactions feel earned and not forced. While not being a total fuck-fest, there is definitely no shortage of it. VISUALS - ( 4.5 of 5 ): The visuals in this game were never bad but there was a significant improvement in the most recent 3 chapters. It is now one of the most visually well done games out there CONTENT (LENGTH) - ( 4.5 of 5 ): This game is pretty far along with 9 long chapters out so far. I'd say theres about 15+ hours of story so far. The developer seems pretty active

It's amazing how good this game looks using HS. The renders are amazing throughout the entire game (Currently chapter 8). I also like how many easter eggs there are for other games. Lots from the dev who made Eternum. Pros: Interesting story: Made me interested enough to make theories on what's happening throughout. The H-Scenes are great, but even without, the story is pretty good. H-Scenes: Renders are always high quality. Animations for every sex scene. A lot as well. Characters: Each person has different personalities. There are a lot. Audio: Not something I'm picky about, but a lot of effort has been made on them. Cons: Unequal scenes: I'm sure this will change in the future, but the 'present' timeline girls don't have many scenes. The downside of having so many characters is that they don't get much scenes. All the milfs, the twins and your "room mate". Chapter 7: Spoiler: Spoiler Lots of filler bantering with Darci during the time travel stuff, where they ask stupid questions and receive stupid answers. I'm pretty sure it's the shortest chapter as well, but chapter 8 very much makes up for it in length. I also feel the dev didn't know how to get the MC to time travel again, knowing that the machine was broken. We just suddenly get a plot convenience. That's pretty much it. Scarlets super hot both young and old (Probably my favorite looking girl, followed by Skylar of course). Merry Christmas.
