About Romance Bytes
Romance Bytes is a point-and-click story game made with Ren'Py by Dr.Penguin. It uses 3D CG and animated scenes. You play a male college student who feels tired of shallow relationships shaped by internet and technology. Having lost trust in society, he looks for happiness inside simulations. A new chance lets him pursue that dream, though he must work for it, and the process helps him learn what he wants from life. You make choices as you play. The story includes harem themes and adult situations.
The current build is v0.11, released January 3, 2025, and development is ongoing. It runs on Windows, Linux, and Mac in English, with no censorship. The latest update added 340 renders, 4 animations, and a choice to skip mini-games.
Developer's description
Romance Bytes tells the story of a college student who is bored with relationships, that have become superficial due to the rapidly developing internet and technology. Our protagonist, who has lost faith in society, has started to seek happiness in simulations. Now he has the chance to make his dream come true, but he is going to have to work hard for it. In doing so, he will come to understand better what he wants and how he wants to live.
