Scars of Summer: After

Scars of summer after, or rather, scars of midsummer. Most of the routes don't take place after the end of the first game, which is a bit disappointing. Ryoka is still gorgeous and the cutscenes are good, but the truth is, the first one is much better.

A thoughtful critique from a player disappointed by missed narrative potential... And so, gentlemen and, indeed, the very numerous ladies... I wish to begin by stating that I do not judge any fetishes, save for foot and coprophilia. In all other matters, I accept people for who they are. What arouses you should not define your entire person in the eyes of others. Therefore, even though I may not understand it, I still accept people with the cuckold fetish. I also understand that, first and foremost, these individuals are often moral masochists who derive pleasure from emotional pain and humiliation. I do not comprehend it, but so be it. I, too, sometimes play NTR games, though my personal taste leans in a slightly different direction. And so, to Scars of Summer: After. I will say this:I was hyped for this game because the first part evoked many emotions in me, albeit largely negative ones. HOWEVER, its core moral really resonated with me: "Your fears and insecurities can rob you of happiness, when all it might take is a single step forward." And honestly? When I heard that a proper sequel was in development, I unfortunately for myself fantasized a fanfic. In it, after the canonical ending of the first part, already being a couple, we would have to protect our love from troubles and... corrupting influences throughout the story and gameplay. Fail? NTR path. Succeed? Happy ending. Does anyone else wish for more nuanced corruption stories? But as you all already know, that is not how it turned out. "After" proved to be a sequel to the NTR endings of the first part, where, depending on your prior choice, you witness the development of what has ALREADY transpired. And to be honest, this left me disappointed. No, listen to me. I greatly admire the artwork of the heroine's model. I enjoy the hidden scenes that we only glimpse from a distance, or hear, or merely see the aftermath of. Overall, the game is not boring to play. It's just... I am not naive. Like you, I have played many games, including those of this genre. I am not saying there always must be a pure path or anything like that. It's just that, time and again, developers repeat the same pattern without meaningful variation. The player wants to feel humiliated? Then let the protagonist be a pitiful, cowardly man with certain... inadequacies, and the woman a hidden bimbo... I do not have this particular fetish, but I possess imagination. So, consider this purely in theory... a plot where we are already in a relationship with the girl, but slowly, step by step, the passion fades and the rose-tinted glasses fall away. Juvenile infatuation and fantasies are replaced by objective reality. Imagine if the heroine began to slowly grow disillusioned with the main character, noticing that the issue is not his performance in bed, but that he does not pay her attention, ignores her, merely provides for her, and is simply not as good a man as she once believed. And suddenly, she meets a guy, a "bull," who is simply better. No, not a jerk or an asshole. Just a genuinely good man, decent, who simply does everything better. And in the end, if we proceed down the NTR path, she leaves for him, not because she is wanton or craves something specific, but simply because with him, she feels loved, desired, and special. While the protagonist, in truth, only thought of himself as a nice guy, but in reality was merely a spineless fool... Gentlemen with cuckold inclinations, I am being sincere... Would the scenario I described not cut deeper than the stories that are repeated over and over? But these are merely my notions of what could be better. In any case,I only wished to share my opinion and fantasies. Overall,I have long been disillusioned with the conveyor-belt nature of NTR games, their uniformity, and the frank laziness of many authors. Not all games of this genre are like this; there are wonderful exceptions, for instance, the "My..." series, but they are lost in an ocean of identical self-replicating plots. I regret that such appealing artwork and potential was funneled into yet another story about bimbofication. But otherwise? I am sure the game has found, and indeed already has found, its audience. It is just a pity that many developers are either afraid or too lazy to try something new.

I'm not sure if I missed something, if I was playing it wrong or what, but this game was just disappointing. To be perfectly honest the first game was amazing, and I didn't feel like it needed an 'epilogue' which is pretty much all this game is. There's not really any story, you pick which person you got cucked by from the previous game, and then you pick up from there, so there's no NTR at this point, you've already lost - she likes the other guy not you. At this point it's a lot more like cuck porn or something which is not the same as NTR because you're just watching the girl that you liked from the last game getting railed by the guy that she actually likes. Again, maybe I'm missing some actual gameplay in this game, but you basically just skip through the days and occasionally check in on them to watch them fuck in different locations, as far as I know you can't stop them from doing that, you don't really have anything else to do in the meantime. I dunno... I gave it about an hour of gameplay hoping that collecting SP by finding stuff would actually do anything and it doesn't. As soon as I saw about 4/5 of the scenes were just copy pasted from the previous game I knew there wasn't going to be anything to see here. My recommendation would be to just play the first game and skip this one, the first one had an actual gameplay loop, this one is pretty much just time skipping and scene collection, and worse than that, it's scene collection of scenes you've already seen if you already played the first game.

I can tell this creator can have talent but with this game the only route I found enjoyable is the BBC route. Honestly there just needs to be more sex dialogue, more CG that isn't reused, especially with random events. Almost every CG used is recycled and over used with the random stuff. Even the character sprites stay mostly the same throughout so you can't see the corruption progress. All these little things that aren't done add up and bring it down sadly...

Copypasta dev's at it again, but with even more predestined plot than in their previous games! Throughout many years of being a developer, this dev: - hasn't enhanced, but rather worsened in some places, their already "tarnished" (the only right word to describe these as if greasy doodles) artstyle; - hasn't come up with anything really wild, meaning copypasting what had already existed; - hasn't upgraded the engine by a rational bit: whilst other devs come up with better overhauls for RPGM or other cool additions, like scripts and all, this developer is as if compelled to create a game in this clunky one. In the end, it's just another slop. Not worth any of time.

its a good sequel, and has the same quircks as the last one. tought and dark depresing story, corrpution and sex scenes with netorare flavor with goood style of it to the ntr lovers. and a world that even it isn't the 2nd coming of crist, with the sp being a bit... usless or the alot of maping that sadlly anoys in the run. if you will enjoy for what people want or search in the genere. outside it, it isn't much more.

just felt like a waste of time honestly considering it's like an "after" sequel, just give us a lot of H content? I mean there's a lot of story fair enough...but this just isn't it for me haven't played the whole thing as of writing this, but it's already kinda boring from the starting. that said...it's not "bad". maybe im being a bit too harsh with 2 stars, but it's just disappointing

well i liked the game less because there wasnt really any corruption of modest girls anymore, the game is sequel to the first one where MC returns to the village after some time and we only witnessing corruption done in previous game, mechanics could be more simple and more friendly to the player because i see it only as hide and seek game, its pretty hard to find ryoka when every action and running into bugs progress time a little every time aside of that i must commend dev for giving more CGs and even animations i wish there would be as many in previous game too

ok the one hand the game is really linear and with the way the game skips through days, the routes feel shorter and I feel could’ve been conensed even further. The town is just for show basically. On the other hand the game is “improved” because it cuts out all half the waiting from the previous game, but you have to just kinda duck around until you get the extra scenes, which often are just small continuations of what you already saw. Without adding much to the story. Sometimes the story is worse, though Nobuo route finally gives us shota scenes with other shotas. And hey. Mc kinda gets to go in lol trades some issues for new ones. There ARE some good scenes here, but…the routes are often pretty short with not much in the way of exploration. The scenarios are more fun than the scenes, which remain kinda vanilla for the most part. weirdly some of the best aspects are the…moral lessons? Ryoka’s dialogue about wishing things would never change is…honestly pretty good and her dialogue near the end of Daisuke’s route is genuinely heartbreaking sometimes. The game is still well made and presented, but it’s just side content. I would give this a 3 but Saki’s route goes crazy imo and is the real star of the show. Basically an entirely separate game with Saki as the protagonist that expands her character into being a very cute oneesan character. Shes way better here than in the last game and honestly I enjoyed her content overall more than Ryoka’s. honestly with the exosnddd relationship with Saki and seeing her take boys virginities in this game makes me even more sure that there should’ve been a vanilla route. Like some of Saki’s scenes basically ARE a vanilla route, just the everyone but the protagonist. I think it’s silly they didn’t give mc a sex scene after all the hoops they make you jump through. It’s an intentional choice, but having both makes the Ntr better and all the setup and potential is there. honestly without saki content I might be tempted to give this a 2. Significantly less content than the first game, even if it is well polished. Stories are overall boring and don’t really feel worth a full game. Plus still not that much content even with Saki. I’m still tempted to give this a 3. 4 just kinda feels more fair

Gotta say it's better than I had expected, listen to me, I like the NTR routes, the scenes were great, the CG animation made it better than the first one too. I didn't care thar much about Saki route, the gacha things was kinda pain in the ass. I know it's a NTR game, but I can't lie that I'm happy that there's an NTR route between Keita and Royka, the ending his deserved, gonna take that as the "true' ending lol.

more saki is always good, though to be honest, the first/base game was still 10x better in terms of quality and quantity. I don't believe the content here justifies a sequel. Though in all fairness, Solgante pulled the same thing

I loved it, great continuation of the game, art is still amazing, writing for the H scenes is hot af, the h scene poses are great. If you liked the first game I dont think this game will dissappoint. Ill be keeping an eye for any other game this dev puts out, just pure quality.

Not as cleanly made as the first one but im still very glad it exists. Some routes were definitely far better than others, and the gatcha mechanic to unlock sakis content felt like unnecessary bloat. However all the actusly scenes were amazing NTR content and I legitimately felt glad to complete it.

To be honest NTR game without VA always miss, and this one is not a exception. Why making a RPG maker type game if you don't use the mechanic of the engine ? Overall the game make me feel nothing, the MC doesn't work at selfinsert because he never question anything or confront her. Its a 2/5 game at best.

CG is great, other than that..... There is no gameplay here,all you do is spam T to pass time and watch the remaining CG. The worst thing of all : THERE IS STILL NO SEX SCENE CG FOR NON-NTR ROUTE!!!! This is not a sequel, for me its just a small DLC or add on on the base game. 4 years for this? what are the devs doing?

Finally got around playing it! Took a while to refresh the thread and find the 1.08 patched up with the translation! (Thanks for all the contributing parties, Dazed MTL implementations, auto patching and everything) Been an anticipated release (pun not intended) and has been quite the while since I've tried its demo. Initially found it being received poorly , I did a couple fast plays as of now, with a no mobile battery hack (Haven't finished all endings at point of review) and had a built in anticipation for more Saki related content. (Have developed an unhealthy obsession for her ) While the game features an adequate amount, including her own controlled perspective and corruption gameplay, it doesn't feel adequate, the delivery is too fast and the breeding/pregnancy gameplay feels like a parody and unbelievable game-play lol. The variation of Clothes and scenes were great though, just not enough! Over-all lacks the polish and slow-burn delivery that the original went for and is indeed a glorified CG viewer, it is ofcourse a DLC or a filler episode of the original, however doesn't justify the gap-time of about 4 years between the original's latest patch and this. The CGs, ofcourse take a lot of time to polish and illustrate, i can understand. However, somehow they don't improve upon the original's scenes enough. SNS content and voice overs weren't too compelling to dig into, and the reading/screenshot material on the phone was boring. I am greatly satisfied however, that this has a good end and did not attempt to corrupt that aspect of the original's story. However the corruption paths themselves were sufficiently adequate in the first, and feels like many aspects like the dagashi/candy store shopkeeper, the sadist rich brat, the classmate running the bathhouse store, and the Yasui route, and pretty much all the vagrants and ugly bastard routes really didn't hold much juicy scenes. The Yasui 'Blacked' route was almost too comedic to be taken as a corruption sequence, but the finale ending CG was pretty bland, I just liked the inclusion of Saki in the Yasui route but the ending was trash. Oyama and Vagrant route could've had tons of interactions (more visible Oyama interactions could've been in the tea/rest house) and include saki-nee but it was left out. Similarly candystore grandpa could've included Ryoka but it just elaborated on reanimating and slighting adjusting the original's scenes a bit, too inadequately. (I sound dastardly at this point for wanting more ugly bastard scenes LOL but that's what the genre is) 3* s for being inadequate (brings down the average from 3.5 -> 3 at point of review) TL;DR - The CGs are overworked on to make them glossy or animated, but the whole experience, I found it lacking and not many scenes to relish, as the first game was adequate enough. I've taken note that a lot of games being made have taken inspiration from SoS to make a SNS based corruption game on RPGM. Ochikano feels like a notable on Edit ed (Multiple) Extra: on a side note, RJ314482 "MUCCHIMUCHI ~Busty Bumpkin's Bumpin' and Humpin'~" wasn't too diffrent of a game, but less of a "NTR" title and has ample amount of content!

Good conclusive dlc is what this game should have been not exactly a sequel but an extension of the ntr routes and a good conclusion of the happy true ending which is completed in this game as well, the story is excellent and the characters are very attachable exspecially the fmc, the playable mc is weak but not much can be expected from an ntr protogonist. All in all good cgs but not a sequel and people waiting 4 years for this and being disappointed is justified. PLAY THIS GAME ONLY AFTER PLAYING SOS 1 OR IT WONT MAKE ANY SENSE YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED AND I MEAN EVERY ROUTE INCLUDING THE HAPPY TRUE ENDING

This dev and artist always puts out a really good story, and scenes, and different diverging plots and/or paths. The setting is always very well written and the games including this one are very polished. However, the gameplay of the Scars of Summmer games has been jarring, this one is less so than the last one, but still not a great improvement. This devs earlier works have had a more traditional type of gamplay, which i personally prefer, but the the direction they are taking with the type of gameplay for me is very annoying to play. Like said before, art, story and scenes are always good from this dev, if you can get past the gameplay, or you enjoy this type of gamplay this game is a 5/5.

Honestly, the prequel one is better but this part is till good (about 8/10 to the prequel one). This part show how seriously the Studio working on it. I feel like they make this game is not because the money, they love their works. The game made by money deadline is finished when it's done, but to them, the game made by passion is finished when they feel it done <3 <3 <3 Thanks Story: 8.5/10 Sound and music: 9/10 Art: 9/10 (I prefer the old 2D style than the animation one) P/s: sorry for my bad English, but atleast you guy understand what i mean, right?

Scars of Summer Alright. That's pretty much what's there to say. It's nothin too crazy or new... just additional scenes. Some of them next to the plot of the main game, some of them after, Didn't catch me at all though. Bit disappointing
