Secrets of Troll is an adult RPG made in RPG Maker by NorChronicle, presented in animated 3D CG. It follows a male protagonist living in Nordland, a peninsula settled mainly by ships after a catastrophe four centuries ago reduced humanity. Trade is growing, but savage and brigand attacks make travel dangerous. You start in Arland, a small northwest settlement, taking odd jobs to survive. When guards punish a boy stealing apples too harshly, you intervene, are pinned down, and are sent to Sortland as a criminal to await punishment.
The current build is v0.065, released February 8, 2025, for Windows in English, with no censorship. Development is ongoing. The update adds the Jonasfarm zone southwest of Troll center, with placeholder job events for a later release, plus new characters Jonas and Frida. It also introduces new quests and events, makes the cemetery repeatable and regrow after a month, and fixes bugs.

About 400 years ago, a catastrophic world event occurred.
Few records remain, but the event severely diminished the human population.
You begin in the northern mainland part of the known world, also known as Nordland.
Since Nordland is a peninsula where many savages trafficked the woods to get there, the original settlers mainly traveled there by ship.
Many years later, trade is seeing steady growth, but with the still ongoing threat of savage or brigand attack, it remains a high-risk trip.

The rule in Nordland is strict and fierce, and unless you are of noble birth or have somehow come into a position of wealth or power, you don’t have many rights.
You (the main character) come from Arland, a small settlement in the northwest part of Nordland,
where you’ve lived daily doing whatever small job you came across to earn enough to survive.
Then, one day, you witness the situation of a boy caught by a merchant stealing a couple of apples. Theft to survive starvation is not uncommon,
but when the guards took the kid's beating too far, you could not idly watch any longer and stepped in.
It did not take long before guards pinned you down, but at least the kid got away during the brawl. You are reported as a criminal and will be sent to Sortland, the capital, to determine your punishment.

You regain health and stamina per hour. If you have eaten you gain more and the food meter decreases.
In areas where the clock has stopped, you will not regain health until you exit the area.
Increased the strength of some enemies a bit.

- Added some new characters in Troll: Erling and Oluf the merchant who arrives every 2nd weekend.
- Quests: The Raid and Connections can now be completed.
- Reduced the recovery again and increased some stats for the goblins.
Fights were too easy .06 will be a bit more focused on combat and introduce more balancing, so feedback on current thoughts is welcome.
- Added new task to make money from. Requires affection 4 from Lyra and talking with her in the tavern.
- Fixed typos and errors. (The key icon overlapping images needs some work and I have not fixed that yet.)
- If you did not receive the Mace in the Cave in previous build, I made a temporary fix to replace it, just activate same event again.
This update might not feel very lengty, but it required a fair bit of learning on my end. It also helped me build things behind the curtain for future events.
No new animations this build, so if you are in it for those, you can safely skip this build and wait for .06.

- Added one new animation to a scene and a new scene to Hilda. (You can now repeat the Tavern event)
- Several new scenes and events with Silje.
New spy scene, ride scene and her house is accessible through Break-in and enter quest.
- Food system has been tweaked and changed.
Now, you recover a set amount of HP and Stamina every recovery check.
The amount recovered is increased when you sleep comfortably.
Sleeping no longer completely depletes the food bar.
