The ruins of the people's tranquility lie smoldering. Two thousand years of prosperity have come to an end, the Empire conquered at the hands of degenerate invaders. As what they once took for granted crumbles around them, its citizens nevertheless continue to strive for a better tomorrow, even as they are swept up in the tides of history. Miyaguni Akari, the final heir to the imperial throne, seeks power ―for it is her absolute duty to eradicate her sworn foes and reclaim her empire. Tokita Soujin, a proud warrior without a past, seeks a lord ―for the noble blade must be wielded in the name of fealty . Fate shall see to it that their paths will cross―and it is not the domain of man to know whether their journey shall end in despair or in triumph.

It is my first touch with a game from AUGUST studio. One thing is certain, it truly hooked me up. Must have been years ... can't remember when was the last time i shed tears on a game or spend so much time on one, diligently going through the story, just as it has been with this one. I'll point out as first some pros & cons, and proceed further with some thoughts on the story and the gameplay. + High budget production + In my opinion the most impressive feature of the game - the voice actresses and actors cast. There are 20ish characters, all of them fully voiced, including the MC and the other males. Rare sight to be so stacked with big and recognisable names. Such as Haruka Sora, which i recognized, voicing the main heroine. + Interesting and involving you in plot. The game is lenghty, but the story doesn't feel stagnant, because there's always something going on to keep your attention. + The game might not be animated, but there are some pretty and eye catching effects and scenes. The preview images doesn't really do the game a favor of showing it. - The translation and the writing were perfect, but i hated the font, even more the fact it's auto changing size, depending on the lenght of the text within the textbox. With fewer words, it will be oversized. With more text - so small, it's barely visible, making you almost go closer to read it. - The game doesn't pay off in h-scenes. They are badly censored. They also comes at the very end of the story with each heroine. They are not big in number and duration either. - No harem ending ... that's a bit of a shame, i liked all of the heroines and they all were quite attached to the MC, and dependable on him. Harem ending in this game makes so much sense. Story / Gameplay: The story gave me so much vibe of Conan the barbarian( the version with the evil witch, which usurped the kingdom from her sister, putting her citizens to misery and torment). More or less you have something similar here. By betrayal from within itself, your kingdom falls and becomes vassal under the enemy. In the following battle the MC, who's a warrior is heavily injured and loses his memory as a result. At a moments some of the events doesn't make much sense, but they would eventually further down the story line. There's so many twists. People which seemed evil and enemies turned out to be good and with reasons for their deeds and the opposite. !!! The gameplay have 5 routes, one for each of the main heroines, but in reality the main heroine is only one, the pink haired girl (Akari), which is the princess and the future empress of the fallen empire. I'm saying it, because only her route feels significant and goes deep into the story, until the very end. Only within her route you would understand and fully get the explanations on the whole history how it came to this. That's a little bit of a shame, because i liked more one of the other heroines, however her route was way shorter and without real resolution. The invaders remained, without being pushed back out of the empire, as if the MC become more preoccupied with his new love life than with the battles. There's a short sequal to the game. I hope we will get some translation on it sooner.
