Seven Kingdoms: The Princess Problem (or 7KPP for short) focuses on player choice, customization and consequences. Politics and people are the core challenge of the game. (And it is challenging. So much so a story mode has been created for those who prefer their failures to end up less game-endy.) A fantasy, politics, Otome visual novel with roleplaying and simulation aspects inspired by interactive fiction, Bioware and current English Otome games, 7KPP is not quite like anything that has come before. Spanning seven weeks of gameplay, almost a million words of content, 12 different romance/marriage routes (3 of which are with female characters) hundreds and hundreds of choices, a detailed character creation that has has over 40 stats to master, including personality traits, a choice from six separate backgrounds (all with their own storylines and unique reactions, choices and dialogue) and world-changing outcomes that vary with every choice you make, 7KPP is massively replayable.

2024-07-06 -The countess and princess now have a chance at a double manipulation bonus during the welcome feast - with ng+ bonuses this gives them both a potential 50 manipulation to start, which hopefully should be enough -The chicken (pirate version) has once again been captured and prevented from ruining the play -Gisette and Blains blackmail paths should now be working as intended -Various small bug and typo fixes 2024-07-01 Clean Slate Version Fixes for 1.07 -Sayra's giant disembodied head should stop looming behind negotiations -The chicken should stop sabotaging the play (at least in the bug sense... as for in the narrative sense. It's one naughty chicken.) -When marrying Hamin with the Hise Pirate background, mass amnesia where the game didn't remember you actually were from Hise in the first place should be fixed -Trying to increase peace in Revaire during negotiations no longer falsely claims you are actually trying to increase conflict -If Jarrod marries Sayra, the game now remembers he can't also marry you and other miscellaneous typo and bug fixes 2024-06-30 -Fixed Gisette sneakily getting her lovers two new game + credits for one- you should now only get the correct epilogue and boost -Changed it to make the choice for the Gisette/Jarrod ending more clear -Fixed a bug breaking Jarrod's ending on his romance path -The game should now remember that Jarrod isn't thrilled about the peace endings when you are marrying him -Added an experimental option during the game mode selection that allows you to delete persistent data (earned achievements, seen text, unlocked backgrounds, bonuses and characters) I'm not 100% this will work, but I have my fingers crossed and other various small fixes with version 1.0.6 2024-06-28 Bugfixes: -A stray _ that was trying to monopolize Ana's epilogue has been dealt with. You should now be able to get her epilogue properly. -The what your summit will be known for now has additional variations for when you manage legendary and good ends, but not completely, and the line for all peace ends has been improved. Version 1.0.5 2024-06-25 Bugfixes -Ria's happy endings should be working properly now, and Hise now remembers you married her -An issue that meant sometimes on the political marriage route you would get multiple endings for your spouse and occasionally accidental bigamy should be fixed -Hamin's ng+ bonus should be working Version 1.0.4 2024-06-23 -- Release Build

Have to add a review since there are none, and the game needs the tag "no sexual content", since there really isn't any at all. Which strangely enough is a lucky incident for me bc I would not have spotted it otherwise. In short & without spoiling anything, the music, the choices, the replay value, stats & building & mechanics, complexity, characters, dialogue, the overall immersion and feeling is just absolutely sublime! This is by far one of the best VN's overall I've ever played in my life. So far I've played it through 3x - in a row since I started - and I can't stop! This isn't normal, to get so caught up in a VN. Especially when I was looking for lewds! There's a lot of text, but never bombarded (imo). I tend to easily skip most texts and especially if there's no interactivity for too long, but that basically never happened here. This game is as far from some kinetic novel as can be, and you're constantly making choices each one with their consequences. There's just enough different kinds of things to do, a tight schedule, and unique events etc. that it never gets boring or overly repetitive. The only negatives then come from the usability behind all those stats etc. Few choices ever state what they actually do. On my 3:rd run I went and found what walkthroughs and guides I could, but they're all woefully unfinished. The first few runs you can do well enough just picking your choices by instinct, but there comes a point where you need to seriously start focusing on specific stats & skills & reputations & relationships to actually get the paths and results you want. And this is a real problem. Because the only way to see what your choices actually do is 3-4 different clicks into sub menus (your stats are spread across several places, not all of them even have numerical values just bars), from which there is no simple "press esc to get back" but you have to navigate through the buttons back into the game all again. So you literally have to go and take screen caps of EACH of your stat menus, then pick a choice, go into all of them and compare to see what - if anything - changed, and then do this for every single other choice to determine the best outcome! The game has like a thousand scenes with choices, each with ~4+ picks! It's insane! And yet, despite that glaring and extremely annoying feature... with very few visuals for the characters either mind (they're always in the same pic with same pose & clothes with basically 1 of 3 expressions)... this VN is nothing short of a masterpiece! Flawed, but still a masterpiece. I really hope people give it a chance! <3 And god I wish to see more games like this in the future!
