About Solace: Prologue

Solace: Prologue is a Ren'Py visual novel by Sinful Scribes, using 3DCG visuals, a male protagonist, and a school setting. You follow a young man returning to the city where he grew up, hoping to begin again with friends. The story blends hardship, friendship, and difficult choices as past fragments surface. Your decisions determine which companions to support and which to abandon, while the route can lean toward responsibility or darker impulses.

The current prologue build is v0.1.1, still in development, and was made available September 13, 2023 for Windows, Linux, and Mac in English without censorship. The latest update also corrected images of the younger protagonist, added text outlines for readability, and supplied missing sound effects in some scenes.

Developer's description

Returning to the city of his childhood, the protagonist envisions a fresh start alongside his friends. The story unfolds into a kaleidoscope of hardships, the development of bonds, and an array of unexpected difficulties. You are in charge of this complex web; you decide which partners you will stand with and which ones you will leave behind. Spoiler As you delve deeper into the story, the fragments of the protagonist's past come together. Yet, a word of caution: The path you choose will define your journey—will you walk the righteous road, or shall you succumb to the allure of darkness, becoming an embodiment of malevolence? It's a choice that rests solely in your hands.
