The Avenging Angel

In the city of Ashgrove there exists many social ills which ravage the rest of the world. Poverty is skyrocketing, crime is through the roof, the poor get poorer as the rich grow more powerful. Most puzzlingly of all, women are disappearing off the streets seemingly at random. Gangs control most of the city, with the police and other state institutions either complicit or apathetic to the damage being caused. On the surface life can sometimes appears normal, but underneath there is rot. Beyond this danger however something even more sinister is occurring. A war between Demons and Angels which has been carried out under humanities nose for millennia has spilled out onto the streets. Spoiler You are a young adult carrying the scars of an abusive upbringing. Living alone with your mother, you escape into fantasies to ignore the pain of the past all the while you, like the city you live in, rot. Through happenstance, bad luck, or divine will you find yourself bonded with an Angel. Through her you have gained superhuman abilities but can you let go of the scars of the past and utilize these abilities to liberate your city or will you forever be locked in the past, unable to grow. Will you become just another forgotten soul cast aside by a cruel world or will you become the Avenging Angel?
