I have tried a lot of games in this niche, and most of them are either all sex with no substance or have a "story" that's just an excuse to get from one scene to the next. So I wasn't expecting much when I first downloaded this. But wow, i was wrong. This game actually has a real plot. A proper, unfolding story that made me care about what happens next. The characters feel like actual people, not just cardboard cutouts waiting for a lewd scene. And speaking of those scenes… they're fantastic. The art, the animation, the buildup everything about the intimate moments is hot, tasteful, and satisfying. I genuinely appreciate the work that went into them. Thank you to the developer for creating something that respects both the genre and the player's time. Please, please keep updating this game. You've got something special here. Here is a few suggestions from my experience: · Let me skip text I've already seen. There are times I want to replay a section or go back after a choice, and having to click through everything again gets tedious. A simple skip function would make a huge difference. · Some choices feel a bit too punishing. I've hit a few "game over" moments where I genuinely wasn't sure what I did wrong. A little more clarity in the dialogue leading up to key choices would help keep the flow going. · The MC's inner voice gets repetitive. I get that he's conflicted that's the whole point but after a while, the constant back-and-forth in his head starts to feel like the same conversation on a loop. Trimming some of that would make the writing feel tighter. · A tiny bit more player control over his personality would be nice. I don't mind that he's flawed, but sometimes I wish I could steer him toward being a little less awkward or a little more respectful. Nothing huge just a few branching options here and there. · The free roam sections left me guessing. A couple of times I wasn't sure what I was supposed to click on or if i missed something before moving on. A simple objective reminder or quest log would clear that right up. None of these are deal breakers . The game is already really good, and im genuinely excited to see where it goes next. Keep up the amazing work and thank you again for making something worth getting invested in.

Ironically enough, some of the harshest reviewers seem to be lacking exactly what they decry the game's MC is lacking: empathy. Even despite the fact that the writing is right there for them, and of pretty good quality, too. They just don't seem able to transport themselves into the headspace of an MC that's not them, but a person of his own, perhaps quite unlike who they are, not believing what they happen to believe. And people wonder why literature is dead.... I'd like to see them review Crime and Punishment! I don't think they'd like Raskolnikov very much! The MC, Alex, holds deeply to the belief that he's straight. He's prudish. He comes from a traditional, Catholic family, and his wider social circle consists of people who share these views and who he believes would ostracize him if they knew. This leaves him surprised and conflicted about his attraction, needing time to come to terms with it. All of this seems, to me, very basic stuff that's not asking terribly much of the person behind the screen. Though it bears mention that even while I dismiss much of this critique, some of its intents I am sympathetic to. A character can be established to be independent of the player, but you might still like to take him on a different route than the author, consistent with his beliefs, and 0.3 is somewhat building up to the opposite of that. Wait and see, I suppose. Gameplay is perfectly fine. This is NOT an HTML open-world game. Number of non-dialogue clicks to get to the end of 0.3; which is a fair bit of content, is probably in the range of 50-75. And it's certainly no puzzle. You click a wardrobe, a PC, a bed, your phone and the occasional person and that's literally all of it. Scenes are really good. Writing is, in my opinion, excellent. Characters feel grounded and much more real, with all their kinks, than in most other games of this kind. Clingy, infatuated, overprotective, hurt, young and confused; the whole range of it. I have to repeat that I don't understand, nor at all agree, with the people who are so very critical of this. The writing is just good to great, full-stop. All other aspects of the game measure up, too, and I can't help thinking that anybody who gave this less than four stars should maybe reconsider whether game reviews are really, truly their calling.

Yikes, I have never been turned around from a game this fast in a while. The MC is a brain-dead spineless cum-brain loser that has no play with woman that it is actually cringy. And I had to stop my self from reading more, so I don't witness the plane crash, amazing models and superb love interest with an interesting theme of being gay in a city that will hate you for it. But that gets ruined with the shitty writing of the MC, I do not think this game is playable if you want to read the story, if you close your eyes and only focus on the sex it's not too bad, amateur but not bad. Models are nice too for being grounded in reality. the only thing that ruins this game is the MC, as you can't even control his actions, so this VN becomes basically a kinetic novel that leads into train wreak after train wreak.

Sweet Deviance [v0.3] — High Potential, Low Execution | 3.4/5 Spoiler: Developer feedback Mechanics: The sandbox UI feels like "busy work." If the player doesn't have true freedom, the UI shouldn't be this cumbersome. If you can spend time on the UI, please add an MC name-change feature. Protagonist: The MC is currently unlikable. He acts more like a predator/bigot than someone going through a confusing sexual awakening. Giving him a backstory (like a past betrayal by a woman) would make his hesitation and eventual bond with Noah feel earned rather than creepy. The "Lube Scene": This was a missed opportunity for character growth. Actions should have consequences; physical pain from a lack of prep would have reinforced the MC’s supposed care for Noah’s well-being. Identity: You need to define Noah’s identity more clearly. Switching between "femboy" and "trans" is confusing for the audience. Sweet Deviance is a decent experience that feels like a journey of self-discovery, but the developer seems to be holding the story back from reaching its full potential. The most glaring issue is the UI and "sandbox" mechanics recycled from the dev's abandoned project. Using existing assets is fine, but this specific sandbox system adds more frustration than depth. It’s pointlessly click-heavy without offering true freedom. Oddly, while the UI is complex, you can't even change the MC's name (now fixed after nagging the dev over it)—a basic feature for immersion. Character-wise, the MC is difficult to like. He comes across as a creep/incel rather than a relatable human. A more compelling path would have been an MC recovering from a bad breakup who is genuinely confused by his attraction to Noah. Instead, we have an MC who treats Noah like "damaged goods" to be hidden away and used. Visually, the adult scenes are great. The dev has a clear eye for aesthetics, even if some polish is needed. However, narrative choices—like the "lube incident"—lack weight. Choosing no lube should have resulted in physical pain for both, which would have added actual stakes to the MC’s claims of not wanting to hurt Noah. Ultimately, the game struggles with its identity. The MC treats Noah like an object rather than a person, and the developer needs to decide if Noah is a femboy or transgender, as these aren't interchangeable. Verdict: Worth a look for the art, but the MC’s personality makes it a tough pill to swallow.

5/5 as of v0.2 Writing is great The femboy/trans topic is handled very well. Just enough to depict the MC's mindset, not too much to the point of trying to convince the entire world. Little touches like pronouns changing during inner dialogue as the MC (Alex)'s and Noah's relationship progresses, imo really bring out the MC's mindset. Imo I question if there is a tad bit too much "gay or not gay" dialogue, but it's handled very well. Didn't come off as trying to preach a world view to the player or convert the player (compared to simply understanding the mindset of the MC.). Imo, Just enough is left to the imagination which for me, let me stay immersed in the story as the MC. Dialogue feels like a story, not just words for an Ero game. Art is great. As of 0.2 the 'world' consists of your bedroom, a cafe, outside an apartment, and inside an apartment. While that may sound limited, it's done in a way that meshes perfectly with how the story flows. It's the perfect example of the concept of "less is more". Character models are great. Noah's model and expression are spot on with the dialogue. Ero is great. Gameplay: Some have argued that the 'game elements' are too anti-vn, but tbh they're very minimal and very noninvasive. IMO, they're just enough to force your brain to pause enough at times, For example in one instance it's just enough time to reconcile that a day has past in game, or make you relate to nervousness that comes with a time period after a first date. I was hesitant to let myself get too attached too fast at v0.1, but as of v0.2 all I want is more. More Noah. Ps. It's 4:01 am and I feel it's worth it to finish this review, that alone should back up the 5/5 stars. 4.5/5 as of v0.3 -0.5 stars because Alex would claim they're confident. The rest of the world would just call it being a douche who needs to calm down. The dialogue between Alex and Noah's roommate's just totally threw me for a loop this update. I couldn't tell the MC (Alex) was just 100% being a douche, or if they were actually someone to throw around the word "fuck" not in the ero sense casually.

You cannot skip dialogue, and you can get a "Game over" after a series of multiple choice questions. Weird design. I couldn't get past the coffee date. Kept getting game over after 5 attempts. The MC is very horny and in his head and only talks about coffee is seems. Overall weird vibe. Please add a walk-through and enable skip dialogue.

Definitely something to look forward to. Overall I like a lot about this game so I'll only point the things I dislike I really dislike the chain of questions setting, with game over if you mess one, and it's not even clear because it feels like one of those multiple correct answers cases. But the other party wants to hear EXACTLY what they want to hear, otherwise game over. The dialogue is a bit forced. I don't like when the writer puts thoughts in my mind. Let the player have these thoughts, instead of writing out an entire monologue discussing if this is "gay or not gay"

The game looks good, gotta love femboy games. But so far the mc is an unbearable creep. Makes you feel second-hand shame just reading his inner dialogue. I hope the dev changes his mind about it. And the overall dialogue isn't much better either even for porn game standards. If the writing gets better it could be a pretty good game.

The game has a promising start and I love the visuals. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars so far is the ChatGPT writing. It's very blatant and distracting. It's not just the Em Dashes that give it away either. This is a very short game so far, and it felt like every few sentences was like "I don't just feel X, but also Y", "It's not only X, but Y too", and so on. It was really repetitive and distracting. I'm not against people using AI to punch up their scripts a bit, but if you're going to do it, at least edit it to get rid of some of that annoying crap AI repeats over and over and over.

EDIT: Sweet Deviance v0.2 has revamped the game pretty much from the ground up. A few more lines of dialogue were added to what was v0.1.1 to make it more well-rounded (and that's not counting the 1300+ new lines of dialogue), as well as adding post first date content . A few hours later, Dev introduced the v0.2.1 Hotfix, which, chief amongst bugfixes, re-enabled (sic) skipping text. It's 0.2.1 now, and Sweet Deviance is growing stronger. The introduction of Mia was well done, MC and Noah's making amends was relieving -even though it was very clear that it had to be that way- and the new lewd scene was even better than the first -and not just because more stuff happened, but because it simply was better put together-. Instead of re-writing everything from scratch, it's just easier to update it this way because there's no new flaws -and one of the flaws I pointed out was fixed- and, like I said, the game has gotten better and not just bigger. Having said that, I'm falling out of love with the script. The plot is still perfectly good. What I mean is that is feels a bit robotic at times. At the end of an interaction between MC and Noah, there's a moment of processing followed by two adjectives or verbs. I know full well it's a creative choice and that's a-OK, but it is a thing that I had to say. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've just finished 0.1, and Sweet Deviance is looking quite good as it promises to become a great choice of play for those of us who like traps/femboys. Script is more than decent for a prologue or Ep 1, renders look fine and LI is disarmingly cute. It has one lewd scene thus far -which can be seen in OP- and it didn't feel like it was rushed just to get us fapping ASAP; the build-up was rewarding and its pace was plenty good. The only downsides worth mentioning are: lack of skipping seen text and a "quest log"/notifications. No matter how much one presses Tab or Ctrl, text won't skip. Which might easily solvable yet it's quite inconvenient and pretty bizarre . What I mean by "quest log" is simply that: a quest log. Something one can refer to when not knowing what to do when all of a sudden there's a free roam and clicking on the phone will end it, even though you want to explore it a bit more. I did think the phone would give me directions, yet the first free roam ended after texting Noah . All in all, a nice little promising start even after the ending. I'm really looking forward to seeing this getting more traction and for Alex's character to grow and be able to rectify himself after that disaster...

Cute character, some decent writing, probably could use a fast forward button if screwing up causes a game over though. Really just needs more content over all, but a good start as long as things will be fleshed out alot more.
