Tangled Threads is a Ren'Py adventure made by Redwood Watch, presented with 3DCG visuals. You play a customizable male protagonist whose ordinary life is already strained by a dead-end job and an inability to pay for college. After a brutal alley attack and a near-fatal wound, a strange power awakens inside him. Keepers intervene, and he becomes caught in an underground fantasy world shaped by magic, shifting loyalties, and looming danger. His task is to learn the power within him, uncover the realm’s secrets, and confront the spreading darkness. The game blends fantasy, harem, and female domination themes.
The current build is v0.1, released on May 26, 2026, and development is ongoing. It is available for Windows and Linux in English, with no censorship. The changelog lists this as the initial release, adding 8,677 words and 885 renders.
Developer's description
The guards lay in a pool of blood, the prison wall has crumbled, and the Tainted Son walks free. You play as MC (customizable), a guy who is down on his luck and going through it right now. Working a dead-end job and unable to pay for college his life seems to severely lack direction and purpose. Spoiler Heading home one day, after a particularly gruelling shift, MC is attacked in an alleyway by random muggers. After suffering a near fatal wound something awakens inside him, giving the strength to hit back before passing out due to the severity of his injury. As the consciousness slowly leaves his body a group of Keepers step in to deal with the muggers and save MC’s life. He now finds himself caught in the middle of an underground fantasy world where magic reigns and allegiances are twisted. In a society where danger lurks at every turn, he must harness the magic within him and unlock the secrets of this mystical realm to stand against the encroaching darkness and emerge victorious.
