The Fairy Tale of Holy Knight Ricca: Two Winged Sisters

Review (all comments here affect the rating): Easily one of my favorite games; it has some character customization, relatively simple but clean combat, there's a sense of progression, and the story while not mind blowing is cozy and interesting enough. The game even has voice acting (for main characters) and it's quite good. The graphics aren't crazy great, and is inconsistent (some NPCs are less detailed, the environment is low quality compared to other stuff, etc.) but the main characters and all the enemies have good models and animations. Some outfits are sexy but some of them are a bit boring. The fact that clothing can break is a rare quality and the execution is great. You can skip cutscenes even if it's the first time seeing them, despite them being fully animated and this not being a AAA game. You can enter free cam mode at any time while playing, even through cutscenes, which is incredibly rare and makes me see the devs as intelligent and considerate of who's playing it. The game in normal mode is difficult. I'm not that good at these combat games but man it challenged me and I honestly was having a lot of fun. Some gripes: Slow character movement. It's a bit of a slog to get through the game in certain areas. If it were more fast paced and the attacks were more snappy I think this game would excel. I like the idea of clothes having their own stats. I like the various weapons you can use. I DO wish however, that these weapons were better balanced. The elemental sword is better in almost every way than the heavenly odachi, aside from its perk (odachi increases knockback and damage every consecutive hit) but that perk doesn't make up for everything else. H scenes don't unlock if you don't let yourself get defeated in the parts where you unlock them. This game is quite well polished and far exceeded my expectations, and even the writing is decent. While the characters aren't too deep or complex, they are believable and consistent in who they represent, and I'll always appreciate that. Notes (these comments do not affect rating but are things to mention): This is one of the top 3 games for me right now. (I don't have incomplete games in my top 5). This game is dark. It may seem innocent but the protagonist is genuinely sweet and pure and goes through a lot, and the writing is good enough that you end up feeling bad for her, so just be prepared for that (even as someone into rape). The story is linear and once you finish it, it's a shame it isn't longer (I wish it went on forever and had a million outfits, but a game's length isn't gonna be a gripe of mine unless it drags on too much or is way too short, which this game does neither).

The amount of effort into making this an actual game with combat, economy, stats, etc is impressive. Every scene is animated with very well made character models and environments. The story is fairly cliche but the pacing keeps it compelling. The combat is simple but the skill tree adds some variety to attacks and other areas. That said....the game has a weirdly dark and unhappy vibe to it. For starters--nearly every sexual encounter is nonconsensual, or at best, transactional. And while I get that these scenes are canon events in the story and somewhat play a part in moving the plot, they are incredibly dark and clash with the whimsical and innocent tone set in the first chapters of the game. I'm not a pearl clutcher and I know everyone has different likes, but personally I found the level of detail and the violence to be too much, especially when a lot of time is spent showing the innocence of the MC. There's also some characters that appear like the kind of side-characters that would provide some levity and lightheartedness to the story, as a palette cleanser after the darker scenes I mentioned earlier, but this is not the case. So you are left with a game that looks and sounds whimsical and fun but feels dark and gross.

Played this game a few months ago and I'm just now getting around to reviewing it My favorite of the sidescrollers I've played, fun little character customization , gameplay and story, apparently theres DLC/a new update coming so I'm excited for that; generally just looking forward to future games from this dev as well.

Graphics: Great, texture not so detailed but physics runs well Gameplay: actually a fun game, worth praising for this kind] Plot: old fairy story. Very yappy but skippable. Also lots of sexsual depiction which makes it outstanding if you like reading Content quantity: Alooot. You got all the branches upon defeat, you would be raped by the monster, human, and get sold to slavetradere, basically all the branches are bad ending.

This would be worth 5/5 just for gameplay alone, different outfits and customization is also great, story is also pretty good. Maybe porn stuff could have been not just rape because it was quite disturbing at few points and not just after defeat but also unavoidable part of the story.

Gameplay : Good, smooth, and satisfying. Story : I'm gonna say it's mid, I usually skip because it's not enganging so much, pretty boring. H Scene : Impressive, but I don't like the novel or the yapping part, just skip. So far I play the only thing that you want to do is fight and play, skip the plot because it's pretty boring. A lot of costumization and the character is pretty cute. The game is have a really good movement. But if you are easily get angry, don't play this game, there's some chapter that really hard and you need to fight annoying boss who can only be damaged for a short period of time.

Holy Knight Ricca (9/10) #3D A 3D platformer about a chosen girl destined to save the world from a variety of monsters that were awakened by the magic of a bitter incel lich — the guy who got rejected by a princess a century ago. Pros: At first glance, the mechanics look clunky and primitive, but like any good platformer, the gameplay evolves and becomes more engaging over time. There’s something charming in the simple, wholesome story with surprisingly decent character development — even the side characters get attention. The heroine’s customization is amazing: tons of outfits to choose from — you can make her a badass busty warrior or a cute alt girl with modest chest size. There’s even a little mage girl who’s very eager to please. Tons of sex scenes, and not only with the main heroine. A great tsundere companion in the form of a busty fairy. The main villain is solid too. The gameplay has many optional systems to experiment with, though some of them are kind of trash or underpowered. Free camera during sex scenes and dress-ups, lots of kinky and violent scenes, and even some fun grindy achievement collectibles. Cons: Some unbearably dull levels, especially the running ones and the cursed cave with that awful boss. Not enough slutty outfits, and NPCs can’t change clothes either. The story turns cringe near the end.

After the 4th unavoidable cutscene defeat and rape, it feels like I'm just moving a character from plot point to plot point rather than playing a game. The story and dialogue would be mediocre if they weren't so repetitive. The scenes could be better if they weren't censored and again, they didn't have so much uselessly repetitive dialogue. The gameplay is mediocre. Some actions feel responsive and snappy, others feel dropped or floaty. This is a bigger problem because of how much platforming there is. The progression feels fine. The MC is obnoxiously dumb leading to the mandatory defeats and their consequences. Maybe it's fine as a scene collector, but then why bother with a game?

Really polished and playable with a controller is a plus for me. First of this type I have played and will definitely looking for similar stuff once I'm finished. Love the balance of gameplay and story and fantastic art style. 10/10 for me

TLDR I give it 5, an actual fun game to play. Has some fun scenes, though, a bit tedious to get all of them. Game is pretty much exclusively rape after defeat, and some is story-mandatory. (Yes, one of those). At least it most often (not in the post-game levels, FUCK YOUUU) has plentiful retries with often found checkpoints so little backtracking is required. Furthermore, you are told that a scene is possible to obtain, as well as the trigger for it. Pretty cliché, the story. Fun enough to chomp down. Sex scenes are very creative. Wish they unlocked the gallery after level clear instead though.

I was looking for this game for years after my 1st playthrough, thought it was scrubbed, glad it seemingly wasn't, but the quality is excellent, the writing funny and engaging, the combat actually entertaining....and dying sometimes brings its own reward All around masterpiece!

What an amazing side-scrolling game. This is truly my favorite side-scrolling game. The storytelling, gameplay, animation, and graphics are all excellent. But is there any update for this game in the future? I don't know.

Oh, fuck this game. I couldn't even stand the prologue, I turned it off during the church scene. I was annoyed to the point of impossibility by the control in the text parts, the cursor constantly jumps back and forth, everything is crumpled, as if you are digging into maggots with bare hands. Endless dialogues on dialogues, everything is slow and so small, as if all the actions take place in an elevator. I was so enraged by the prologue as I was not enraged by even the most brutal NTR games like Dark Hero Party and the like. Fuck, I played Dark Souls 1 on the keyboard without patches and didn't burn from the controls.

I'd previously played hentai games purely for the pleasure of watching the h scenes, but this game really grabbed me. I got hooked on the story, grew fond of Ricca, and genuinely didn't want anything bad to happen to her. I even skipped as many hentai scenes as possible (I came for the porn and stayed for the story). It's one of my favorite games, and I hope to find more games like this, with better gameplay and a good story

This game offers a main character POV cam!! 11/10. Seeing the nasty'ies railing me from my own perspective is immersive and hot af! I normally dislike games that put so much of the budget into unnecessary motion for predominantly guys to enjoy, But with the ability to change to your own POV!? I can see the vision! When this is combined with the stellar writing, I cant think of a more immersive Hgame. Bravo dev's!

SSS tier of gooner games. Very customizable main heroine. Great story too. Above average game play. Worth buying imho. Can't wait for the append version, but considering it took 5 years to make the main game it will take a bit more.

It's truly a great game. The creators paid attention to even the smallest details, like how characters take damage during gameplay and the various customizations. The only thing that leaves something to be desired is the speed of the combat animations—it feels like the game is in slow motion. However, this is easily forgotten when the H-scene arrives, which is where the game truly shines. Congratulations, I recommend it!

Summary: This game does scratch the Wings of Roldea itch a bit, featuring a very customizable character (including body proportions, eye width, all that Koikatsu level detail) while featuring overall enjoyable, if a bit gimmicky gameplay. The plot has surprising depth and is quite engaging, dealing with themes of morality and trauma, though the tone is a bit inconsistent at times... IMO it functions better as a game than as an eroge, though some of the gameplay can be improved. Pros: 1. Customization: The highlight of the game. Your player character can be customized to Koikatsu-level detail; aside from obvious ones like your costume and hairstyle, you can adjust face proportions, limb thicknesses, etc... 2. Costume damage/injuries: A bit of a cliche in this genre, but I do enjoy how blood (from enemies too), environmental dirt, and accumulated damage is reflected on your character model. 3. Gameplay: Overall I'd say it's an enjoyable platforming/hack and slash kind of game; the 3D is surprisingly good. The skill tree involves move cancelling and whatnot, I'm no fighting game conoisseur but I'm sure more experienced players can do a much better job than me explaining. I just have fun spamming attacks and watching enemies ragdoll and collide with each other. 4. Plot: Again, surprisingly enjoyable. I sympathised with the main character enough I actually locked in and didn't deliberately lose to get H-scenes, managed to win the game without losing (aside from the forced H-scenes, which I'll get on to later). Cons: 1. Gameplay: As is reflected in the comments, gameplay, particularly the platforming elements, are extremely gimmicky at times. The instant-death drops and poor minimap design make some levels frustrating to pass. There are also a variety of platforming contraptions (wind currents blowing you around, colored floating platforms that move you in an unexplained manner) that aren't articulated well and are annoying to play around. Same thing goes with enemy design; in your initial encounter with a Dung Beetle monster with a rock on its back has your companion NPC tell you it is indestructible; it is only a lot later, when I was forced to kill one to complete a level, did i realize you are supposed to crouch attack it to kill it, and the "indestructible" bit was referring to the rock. 2. Forced H scenes: Normally I'd cut an eroge slack for the forced H scenes, but they're just so long I have to whine about them. Admittedly, I might have gotten too invested in Ricca's fate (a compliment to her writing), but there's only so many times one can sit through 10 minutes of her monologuing about how getting fucked in the ass hurts before you get tired of it. I suppose this might fit some ryona fan's criteria, but to me it's just downright depressing having to fight a boss with infinite health, and then being forced to watch your heroine beg for mercy while getting violated. The H dialogue is also extremely repetitive in the typical Japanese manner, with Ricca debating herself about the merits of feeling pleasure from monster sex while also bemoaning her fate and how her parents/sister/neighbours would feel if they knew she was getting raped. 3. Plot dissonance. Kind of related to my point about the H-scenes, but the game basically loops back to being dark comedy because of how absurdly tragic things are. It doesn't help that your antagonists are PS2 graphics goblins led by Skeleton King from Dota 1. The story leapfrogs between wholesome lesbian sex, to Ricca grappling with the morality of taking lives to save lives, to , to Ricca getting raped by tentacles while the PS2 goblins do fortnite dances in the background and say cheesy lines out of an 80s fetish movie. I found myself unable to get aroused by nor feel bad for the main character, instead just finding it morbidly fascinating. Overall, I'd recommend giving this a go if you like character customization/clothing damage just like in Wings of Roldea, but be prepared for somewhat frustrating gameplay.

I was ignoring this game for so long because it was 3D but GOSH DAMN i was wrong , This game is amazing, the gameplay the mechanics everything is Very well done, the animations are great too I'm speechless Hell i wasn't even interested in the H aspect of the game it was that much fun I was skipping every H scene and just wanted to play more Like DAMN this is by far the Best H game i have played So far and hell i've been on F95 for 10 years like Damn this game is good, It's a Side scroller so idk if everyone will Like it but it's great , I used the Deconsor because unfortunately 4K mod is stuck with 1.3.2 version and the latest is 1.3.8 hope the 4K textures get updates and damn i'm gonna go replay it now (I just beat the game as well)

One of the highest quality games you will ever play on F95. There isn't even a slight sense of "jankyness" or "asset flipness" in here. However, I couldn't bring myself to continue playing it because in classic Japanese fashion the dialogue and cutscenes drag on for waaaay too long. Still, I can't give this any less than 5 stars just for how well everything is made.
