The Proteus Effect is a lighthearted roleplaying adventure game where you take on the role of a down-on-his-luck guy who lands the job of his dreams as a playtester at a virtual-reality game company. Things don't turn out quite as he plans, however, and he soon finds himself both trapped in the virtual world and stuck in the body of a nubile young woman. Spoiler: Read More Join the hero and his companions on their adventures through the fantasy-themed worlds as they try to figure out what's behind the game's strange malfunctions and ultimately find a way back home. This is an adult game, of course, so it includes sexy content, and much more is on the way. So come on and play! You'll have a titillating time, you might enjoy the story, and there's an outside chance you might learn some things about yourself along the way!

Even so, the story events themselves will probably take over 1.5 hours to get through, and if you go around and talk to everyone, it'll probably take between 2-2.5 hours. In addition, there are two basic outcomes and several different conversation paths in the date, so if you want to explore all those, you'll have to replay it a few times. Most of the content this patch (aside from the H-scenes) is related to a single, rather long (but hopefully amusing) quest. This update introduces Ogremarsh, which will be the quest hub for the next several updates. A fair number of buildings are currently closed, but they will be opening in future updates (0.5 should open most of the currently closed ones). So don't worry, Ogremarsh will grow progressively more lively as the Zameroth quest line continues. v.0.3.1 Changelog: Added feature: easy modes. Each dungeon (and also Celie's healing event) includes a torch near the entrance that can be used to toggle between easy and normal modes. In easy modes, generally speaking, you'll take less damage, stuff will move slower, and the things that are hard will be less hard. I doubt anyone will have a problem clearing easy mode content, but keep in mind there is a price! My plan is to have special H-scenes, probably one every 3-4 dungeons, that will only be viewable by players who have cleared the previous dungeons on normal mode. Note that I do not plan to penalize players who clear Celie's healing event on easy mode. This game is great. I usually get frustrated with games lacking sex scenes on a porn game site, but this is the exception and for good reason. Maybe it's a taste thing but I absolutely love the vibe and feel of this game. Fun, entertaining, absolutely funny. It has some of the best writing I've seen on this site, with great call backs and effortless world building. No endless text bloating the scenes, just simple short snappy dialog tells you all you need to know and more about the world. Characters are great and endearing. Just all around well done. The bad, it could definitely use more sex scenes. If you don't like futa you're out of luck. But everything is so good. Even the combat which is usually terrible in these games is pretty good with a party you can mix and match for different styles. Love this game as a game, ok as a fap. Try it. For me, easily a top game on this site.

Bad: Intro is too long and you can't skip it. Walking Simulator from point A to point B. Takes too long to reach sex scenes. Slow Combat, especially the animations. No save point before decisions that lead to bad endings, which leads to losing unsaved progress. Good: Story is entertaining.

Got pretty far in the game with hopes of straight sex or romance, since the VR character the MC ends up as is pretty cute, and her stupidity kind of grows on you lol... But I found nothing but futa sex so I dropped it, shame. Writing is absolutely cringe in places but also kind of funny in others.

+ Good pics Beautiful chars - too much walking too much talking (maybe increasing scroll speed could a bit save the day) very slow combat (make hp point half less to enemies and heroes, nothing will change , but it will be faster. Or better add a "cheat win" and "surrender" buttons) Game has a good porn content, but long gameplay kills all the enjoyment. So I played about an hour and saw only two scenes (I skipped all the dialogs). Maybe gameplay and story could be interesting for me, but a launched it a a PORN GAME and for fap. 2/5 for pics, but it's unfapable.

Honestly this one is probably one of my favorites. Great story, fun premise, great scenes, all around wonderful contender. While it has some bugs, it's a gem of a game. came for the tits, stayed for the plot 10/10

Simple game with an entertaining story, moves at its own pace does not rush into the action, but does not take forever to start getting interesting. It is well balanced, in many cases h-scenes make perfect sense story wise. The story while, of course, being outlandish, and requiring a certain suspension of disbelief, still has a feeling of relateability. Overall one of the better games out here for anyone who enjoys themselves a transformation style game. A port to mobile would make ut better in my eyes, however, still a solid option.

Had a lot of fun with the game. The MC is relatable and I really liked his companion as she is more on the dominant side which I like. The sexual tension builds like I haven't experienced on other games I've played, especially up to the first scene. I can't wait to get back to the real world and see what happens with MC and his companion if they go back to the real world together. Hoping for a bit of an aftergame in the real world but that's for future versions. The gameplay and puzzles were well designed. Great writing that got me invested in the characters and also made me laugh out loud several times. One nit pick was dialogue was a bit too long for my taste as I wanted to progress the plot and it was hard to know which messages were plot and which were silly banter. But overall really fun and refreshing game.

Takes a while to get started, and then it hooks you in. With complete honesty, I did not expect this game to go as hard as it did. I was all "O h, just another bland RPG-maker game, whatever, " and it came out of nowhere, left field with some actually engaging puzzles, and challenges, humor, and good writing. The art for the characters is great, when it's not pixels. Gameplay is simple, and only gets interesting after a couple hours. The story was kind of "meh" for the first few hours, too, and then it went hard, and came in with a whole bunch of well-designed characters with deep backstories and interesting interactions, and some wholesome-ass side stories that got me smiling. This game did not need to wait for a few hours to get good, but when it came, it delivered. But it also has very too few sex scenes, especially when it got good. I felt more like I was reading a book, rather than playing a fapping incantation program. I mean, it's a good book, though. Legitimately . The writing is wasted on an RPGMaker game, but it also took the author a few updates to hit his stride. It kind of balances out. I could give this game a 4.5/5 if it only didn't take so long getting going, and I wouldn't be surprised if it puts people off. If you got a day to kill, you'll probably enjoy it, especially if you like futa, but more-so if you like a good read.

I want to like the game, but I can't say I'm a huge fan of it. While I am enjoying the story and the characters, I'm not enjoying the big lack of sexual scenes. The game is about a guy who gets trapped in a virtual game and becomes a girl. That's hot and we know it. That's why most of us started playing it. All in all, there should be more sex scenes in this game. There's like 40% sexual stuff, 55% ordinary RPG stuff. There should definitely be a 50/50 situation here, but sadly, there isn't. Too long, don't read, but people probably will anyway. If you decide that you want to jerk it and play an RPG at the same time, do NOT pick this game.

One of the best RPGM games i ever played. A very very funny story, lovely MC , excat my sense of humor ( from beginning the milking test, try the bull ;-) the scene in the human registration...amazing , deal with the dragon ( the cookie ) the party with the wind , the warlord Val, very funny ) The draw are very good imao, the story full of pleasent funny surprise, most of the figures very detailed with their personality (The Bunnys) riddles to solve , fights with enemys, meet special people ( the element ork shame etc. ) And the sex scenes are good, with fun too. ( MC Val and Ana or the succubus )So i can addvice if you have a sense of a little black humor or slanting humor, try this game... Have fun ;-)

Version: v10.1.1 I really like the concept of the story and how it progressed, but i have only played around 3 hours before i could no longer continue playing. Because Its one of those games that should have been been made with Ren'Py engine thegameplay is mind numbing, its very barebones, which makes the progression through the game a chore. Even though the story is is good and fun, im not going to play a game with dog shit gameplay and a decent story, it just not worth my time and effect. But if this was a VN, i would have given this game an easy 4/5 stars, maybe higher depending on the ending.

I have played the game, since it first showed up back when I only used TFgames. The updates were pretty thick, and updates came out every few months. I had high hopes for it, that I would have recommended it to anyone, but since a few years back now everything changed. Updates are so slow that it's like once a year, and they're shallow to boot, a few scenes or a bug fix that's it. I honestly think you're only wasting your time picking it up which is a shame because could have been something great. The models are unique and the characters were actually funny, I loved Alex and Ana relationship and wanted to see where it would go on the long term. At another time I would have definitely hopped with The Bunnies of Doom, but now I'll be impressed if the game ever gets finished.

This is the first RPGM game where I realize that after playing 8+ hours and going to the recollection room, I've unlocked only 2 H-scenes out of 19! Why? Simply because all of them are not happening during the progression of the main story line or are very easy to miss. The game is mainly focused on dialogue-heavy (too heavy) cut-scenes and puzzle-donjons (be prepared, some of them are very hard). Too bad, I was really enjoying this game at the beginning, the art is unique and good, but update after update, I had to realize that it was going nowhere, tons and tons of dialogues and no real story progression. It's like the dev wants to extend the story for another 5 years (it’s from 2017 already) to gain more Patreon or whatever. Entertaining at the beginning, boring in the end. Good luck to the dev and the fans, I’m out, release 10.0.3 was my last, game deleted.

The game seems like the proxxy really wanted to make an RPG and then sprinkled in a basic scene here and there to bait people in. The dialogue and gameplay itself is decent enough for 3 stars at least, pretty entertaining dialogue and such honestly...up until the fucking bomb dungeon. I. HATE. The fucking bomb dungeon. Making me have to slog through it, not even as a side quest, but as a main quest we HAVE to do to continue playing made me want to immediately drop it down to 1 star. But I felt that was too much for 1 dungeon regardless of how much I hate it, so I only dropped it two.

Far too text heavy. The exposition in this game is a slog while they feed you the tiniest morsels of the most bland sexual content. This guy should be a writer, not a game developer, at least then you could skim ahead instead of waiting through unskippable dialogue cutscenes.

TLDR; 2/5 porn game, 4/5 RPGM game Game itself has pretty entertaining dialogue, interesting puzzles, fun characters, the setting I quite like aside from the gender-bender where you're actually controlling a man and the game likes to remind you of that every few minutes, could do without it, personally. Other than that, the sex scenes are quite alright, and the 3D models grow on you after a while. However, this game is an absolute desert if you're looking for porn, you get maybe a couple of basic scenes (game has no animations, only stills) at the start, but if you pick the 'wrong' options, you don't get to see some of them, and then it takes hours upon hours to see anything else. My experience was this, 2-3 scenes within the first 2 hours, then pretty much nothing for 3-4 hours (maybe more) and then a bunch of scenes all at once, but now that I check the gallery, I pretty much unlocked everything except 2 at the start. If you're looking to play a sex-heavy game, this is not it. I still have to say I enjoyed it cause the dialogue is not bad, I wasn't going to play it cause of the whole gender-bender stuff, but I don't regret doing so, just hope future updates (Slow as they may seem) flesh out the sex scenery a bit more, it's quite bland in its current state.

The game has too many bugs to be played at this time, very little adult content beyond teasing and a few still pictures. Seems 95% of the Development has been (Haphazardly) plugging in the Mini-game modules. The Chicken/frog fight sequence (as an example) has a bug that if you beat the last frog after 3 chickens have retreated, you'll be stuck in the scene and will require a restart of the game. One of several I've found.

The rating depends on what you want from the game. If you play it as a porn game, it's 2.5 stars. If you play it as a puzzle + RPG, the rating is 4 stars. The main issue with the game is that you spend so-o-o much time on puzzles, RPG fighting, backtracking etc! (literally, up to 1-2 hours late game, even if you play with Cheat Menu). In the meanwhile, you don't get anything rewarding for your time and efforts from the porn perspective. The main problem is not pronounced at the start of the game, but grows griever and griever along your playthrough. Up until a point when you suddenly get tons of images with new relations. Another problem is that you don't really get anything from the RPG part of the game (killing monsters), as your characters progress only when the author decides so. Puzzles and quests are not really rewarding, unless you get a new spell/ability from it. The story itself isn't bad especially if you've ever played World of Warcraft. However, the story is extremely wordy for my taste. You can't save just before selecting an answer, so you're forced to replay some chunk of the game if you didn't guess that there would be soon an important (probably important) answer. The visuals are fine, but be aware of arm-length and two-arms-thick penises.
