The Search for My Maid Within a Succubus Book

A game that's clearly above the average RPGMaker slop, but fails at too many aspects in its execution. There's a ton of fairly original ideas that were implemented in this game. Notably, you can choose between slightly-aggressive masochism play or a more tender version, something that's vital considering how niche this fetish already is. The debuff system is also pretty original, pushing you to hunt for them so that you can "cure" them and get a positive effect in exchange. However in practice, many of the game's combat mechanics fall flat, as the game is way too short and has too few skills to make it worthwhile. Buffs and debuffs are completely unnecessary as long as you spend skill points in unlocking the more damaging MP-based skills. The debuffs you receive mid-combat are too weak to make them worth curing, especially since you can both heal yourself and cure them in one go using a specific spell. There is a self-imposed difficulty scale, but it only relates to gained XP and gold, which is just a matter of asking the player to farm more. The overall story is weak. Even though there are many small moments of foreshadowing that I really liked concerning your family and the world of the game, the game doesn't go very in-depth about any of it, so there is very little payoff or consequences in the big reveals that the game hints at. There's an overarching theme of "coexistance" between succubi and humans that is present pretty much everywhere you go that is only discussed by unnamed NPCs and Isabelle, and the potential conflicts such as political differences or relationship issues end up being mostly ignored. It is a waste of an interesting narrative that could've been so much more, and it almost feels like the developpers reduced the scope of the game for the sake of game length or other internal issues. CGs are very stingy in their quantities, and a single character can have reused CGs when they only have 4 to 5 scenes, which is really dissapointing when you have a specific character you like and end up not having a single extra image to unlock. Since the game also lacks voice acting (most likely due to the two masochism modes), the only differenciating aspect is the dialogue, and it doesn't make for a great video game. If you are an imaginative masochist who can get off from text, I'd assume this game is great for you. But at this point, wouldn't a book do better for you? It is very hard for me to be this critical of the game because it's clear that the developpers spent a lot of time crafting the world, dialogue and relationship between the characters. There's a level of care and love that was poured into it that made me reset saves just to see the different dialogues from different choices, but when it comes down to it, I didn't jack off, ended up holding enter on every single combat to spam a single skill, and the story ended on a flat note that soured the entire adventure. If you decide to play the game, I hope that my review will serve to lower your expectations enough that you'll take the game for what it is rather than what it could've been.

i was hoping game will let me chose the adventure a little bit more and tailor it better - you get powerful weapon, but still have low hp so you start living with your obedient maid in real world good mansion, solid wealth game basically give me an option to burn the book or to not burn it i chose to burn it like 10 times in a row i have no idea why its always just "No, i move you back chose differently" WHY IS THAT A THING? if you give option you should respect choice made why is that even an option to begin with? anyways troubles don't end here as maps are big and hard to navigate and there is a lot of NON OPTIONAL sexual scenes that i would like to avoid a lot of girls after being defeated can not be punished for their wrongdoing or killed permamently one girl swore loyalty to me, but it might just be a trick game also forcefully shrink your penis just for the heck of it if you like being abused even if you did everything to win fights this game might be for you i personally hate it, i think winning should lead to positive outcomes Game have only 1 good ending i was hoping there will be conqueror of hell ending or some maledom harem ending anything that is not "woo you escaped", i did not escaped. i destroy all of you demon bitches and saved my maid, it wasn't escape

Hello! It's me, Illidan! Today i will review this suprisingly good hgame. At least compared to tons of trash, which released lately. I will rate this hgame by these categories : Translation, Story, Gameplay, Hscenes Let's start! ------------------------------ Transaltion 4/5 - I think it's translated on ok level, considering how many text here. Of course there is some issues, but they are not significant Story 4/5 - Story is on greater level here, considering how dialogues vary, depending on some choices. Though, some of them lead to same text and conclusions. But overall, it was much more enjoyable experience compared to... Anyway, story here is on okay level. The biggest issue would be, that maid appears almost 0 times, after certain boss fight Gameplay 1/5 - It's pretty much grinding gold and exp... While masochist debuffs ain't that significant at all, except for of a few ones but still. You simply do some damage, get blessing, heal, damage, heal, damage, heal and that's all. Also you sometimes recover MP with potions which you often get from mobs or can cheaply buy in shop, but that's all. Hscenes 3/5 - Honestly, i wish i could place higher rating, but there is plenty of reused scenes. Art is on good level and it does look somewhat interesting. But i think that several artists worked on this hgame, considering how certain artworks look different. Also you can't view only CGs in gallery ------------------------ Conclusion 3.5-4/5 - I think this kind of rating is okay... But i do recommend this hgame to play, if you are into femdom.
