The Vixen’s Gambit is an animated adult chess experience from Dark Square, built with the Others engine. You play as the man seated across from seven women, each with a different way of thinking and playing. As you capture pieces and prove yourself, the match turns into a stage-by-stage harem puzzle, with each opponent opening up as the board changes.
Development is ongoing. The current build is v0.21, released July 24, 2026 for Windows in English, with no censorship. The latest update improved the interface and quality of life, added Aria lee, and tested adjustments to the chess engine and playstyle. The game remains adaptive: losing makes matches easier, while winning still has to be earned, and each victory earns a response.

The Vixen's Gambit is an adult chess experience I've been building from scratch — every system, every character, every line of dialogue designed by hand. You sit across from seven women. Each one plays differently. Each one thinks differently. And as the game progresses — as you capture pieces, as you prove yourself — she opens up. Stage by stage. Move by move. The game gets easier the more you lose — she's adaptive, she adjusts, she gives you a fighting chance — but winning still has to be earned. And when you win, she has something to say about it.
